Phobias among Celebrities

Adele has Laridaphobia, which is a fear of seagulls.

Alfred had Ovaphobia, which is a fear of eggs.

Alfred stated, "I'm frightened of eggs. That white round thing without any holes, have you ever seen anything more revolting than an egg yolk breaking and spilling its yellow liquid?"

Alyssa has Hydrophobia, which is a fear of water.

Aretha has Aviophobia, which is a fear of flying.

Aretha stated, "The last time I flew was in '82. I had such a bad flight. A two-engine plane. The flight was dipsy-doodlng up and down all the way home. I said, 'Oh my God, when I get to Detroit, that's it. That is it.' And I have not flown since."

Barbra has Xenophobia, which is fear of people perceived to be foreign or strange.

As a result, she stated that she is uncomfortable around strangers.

Billy Bob has Chromophobic, which is a fear of bright colors and Aviophobia, which is a fear of flying and also has Altussessiophobia, which is a fear of antique furniture,

Billy Bob stated that he refuses to stay in a room with furniture built before 1950 and stated (in regards to antique furniture), "It's that French/English/Scottish old mildewy stuff. Old dusty heavy drapes and big tables with lions' heads carved on it. Stuff that kings were around. That's the stuff I can't be around. It was too big to be functional. I get creeped out and I can't breathe and I can't eat around it."

Brad has Reversephobia, which is the fear of going backwards.

Brad stated, "If I’m walking out the door and I’ve forgotten something, I can’t go back and get it. It is something in my nature. If I’m driving down the road and I miss a turn, I have to keep going forward. I can’t reverse. It’s some kind of psychological defect. I don’t know the reason why, but it’s just that, for better or worse, I want to keep moving on. I don’t like to go backwards. It’s not what I’m good at."

Britney has Herpetophobia, which is a fear of reptiles.

Britney stated that she only fears Komodo dragons among lizards.

Carmen has Hydrophobia, which is a fear of water.

Channing has Pediophobia, which is a fear of dolls.

In regards to the dolls, specifically porcelain dolls, Channing has stated, "I just think they're freaky."

Cher has Aviophobia, which is a fear of flying.

Christina has Botanaphobia, which is a fear of house plants.

Christina stated that she find plants dirty and can’t bring herself to water them. Christina stated, "If I have to touch one, after already being repulsed by the fact that there is a plant indoors, it freaks me out."

Daniel has Coulrophobia, which is a fear of clowns.

Daryl has Agoraphobia, which is a fear of open spaces.

David has Ataxophobia, which is a fear of disorder or untidiness and Ranidaphobia, which is a fear of frogs.

Denise has Emetophobia, which is ‎a fear of vomiting in public, a fear of seeing vomit, a fear of watching the action of vomiting, and a fear of being nauseated.

Denise stated, "I have a throw-up phobia. I’m terrified of throwing up. I don’t know why. It’s beyond not enjoying it, I have a fear of it. Terrified, ever since I was little. If someone’s around me throwing up or sick, I find out if it’s the stomach flu or food poisoning. Like, at work a girl was sick and I asked her… Food poisoning, I’m okay, because I won’t catch it. Isn’t that terrible? I asked my parents what caused my phobia. I think something happened in my childhood. I don’t know. I’m terrified of it."

Donald has Mysophobia, which is a fear of germs and dirt.

Donald is absolutely terrified of germs and refuses to shake hands and press elevator buttons. Donald stated, "I’m going to do everything in my power not to shake hands with teachers. They have 17,000 germs per square inch on their desk. That’s ten times the germ rate of those in other professions. It’s absolutely swarming with germs."

FDR had Triskadekaphobia, which is a fear of the number thirteen.

Helen has a telephonophobia, which is a fear of telephones.

Helen stated, "I’m definitely frightened of the phone. It makes me so nervous. I always avoid picking it up if I can. The invention of the answering machine was amazing."

Hilary has Mysophobia, which is a fear of germs and dirt.

Hilary stated that she can’t go to bed until she does the cleaning in the room a few times.

Howard has Mysophobia, which is a fear of germs and dirt.

Howie has Mysophobia, which is a fear of germs and dirt.

Howie has a fear of dirt and germs and won't shake hands with anyone and instead gives fist and elbow 'bumps'. Howie also keeps his head shaved stating that it helps him feel cleaner.

Jennifer has Aviophobia, which is a fear of flying.

Jennifer has Claustrophobia, which is a fear of elevators.

Johnny has Coulrophobia, which is a fear of clowns and also has Arachnophobia, which is a fear of spiders.

Johnny stated (in regards to clowns), "Clown posters, clown paintings, because clowns scare me. I have this fear of clowns, so I think that if I surround myself with them it will ward off all evil. Something about the painted face, the fake smile. There always seemed to be a darkness lurking just under the surface, a potential for real evil."

Justin has Arachnophobia, which is a fear of spiders.

Justin stated (in regards to spiders), "I'm really, really scared of spiders. I was staying at a nice hotel and I had to call reception because I spotted one in my room."

Katy has Nyctophobia, which is a fear of darkness.

Keanu has Nyctophobia, which is a fear of darkness.

Kelly has Haphephobia, which is the fear of being touched.

Kelly is actually afraid of being touched specially on her collarbone. In an interview, Kelly’s brother, Jack, stated, "All you have to do is just touch her collarbone. It’s awesome, she starts dry-retching."

Kim has Agoraphobia, which is a fear of open places.

Lyle has Bovinophobia, which is a fear of cows or cattle.

Madonna has Ceraunophobia, which is a fear of thunder.

Matt has Ophidiophobia, which is a fear of snakes.

Matthew has Spinophobia, which is the fear of revolving doors.

Matthew stated, "I get anxious just being near them."

Megan has Mysophobia, which is a fear of germs and dirt and Papyrophobia, which is a fear of paper and Nyctohylophobia, which is a fear of the dark.

Megan spoke about her germ phobia and has admitted to having a hard time using restaurant silverware and not being able to use public restrooms. Megan stated, "Every time someone uses a bathroom and they flush, all the bacteria is shot into the air." Megan also stated that she refuses to dine out because of eating utensils. Megan stated, "Putting my mouth where a million other mouths have been, just knowing all the bacteria that you carry in your mouth? Ucch!"

Megan stated in regards to her fear of paper, "I just can't stand it. Scripts, newspaper or anything that's not laminated, I can't touch it with my hands!"

Megan stated in regards to her fear of the dark, "I've been afraid of the dark all my life... I leave the lights on all the time and if the light is off, I have to run across the room to get to the switch."

Meryl has Corcoranophobia, which is a fear of helicopters.

Nicki has Scelerophobia, which is a fear of unlocked doors.

Nicki stated, "My mother left him (Nicki's father) many different times and came back. He would beg, cry, stalk us. One time, he pulled my mother out of a car and dragged her for two blocks. After that I had a phobia about unlocked doors. Anywhere my mother and I were, I made sure the door was locked, because that was my only way to protect her."

Nicole has Lepidopterophobia, which is a fear of butterflies and moths.

Nicole stated, "It's so bizarre. I'm not afraid of snakes or spiders. But I'm scared of butterflies."

Nikola had Mysophobia, which is a fear of germs.

Nikola hated touching round objects, disliked hair other than his own, and found jewelry repulsive.

Oprah has Chiclephobia, which is a fear of chewing gum.

Oprah stated, "Do you know I have a whole thing about gum? In Mississippi, my grandmother used to chew gum, then stick it in the cabinet. My grandmother used to save it in little rows in the cabinet. There were rows and rows of Juicy Fruit and Spearmint. I was afraid of it. I’d be scared to touch it because it was so gross, so I have a thing about gum. One guest in my home sat at the dinner table, took out some gum from her mouth and put it on her plate – after she left, I threw the plate out. Even now I don't allow gum in the building where I work."

Orlando has Swinophobia, which is a fear of pigs.

Pamela has Eisoptrophobia, which is a fear of mirrors and seeing oneself in a mirror.

Paula has Agoraphobia, which is a fear of open places.

Rose has Agoraphobia, which is a fear of open places.

Salma has Ophidiophobia, which is a fear of snakes.

Sarah has Taphephobia, which is a fear of cemeteries and being buried alive.

Sarah stated, "I have an irrational fear of cemeteries and being buried alive." Reportedly for 'Buffy', Sarah used a fake cemetry scene as she could not handle filming in a real cemetery.

Scarlett has Katsaridaphobia, which is a fear of cockroaches and Ornithophobia, which is a fear of birds.

In an interview with New York Magazine, Scarlett stated, in regards to birds, "Something about wings and beaks and the flapping… I’m terrified of them. That still hasn’t gone away... I was terrified of the peacocks on set (of her new film We Bought a Zoo). Like, ‘Ahh, don’t get too close.’ They’re like, mean,”.

P. Diddy has Coulrophobia, which is a fear of clowns and Podophobia, which is a fear of a large second toe.

Tinie has Musophobia, which is a fear of mice and rats.

Tinie stated, "I can't stand rats, I'm looking to buy a new house and want something with old floorboards. But the problem is that rats come in through all the holes in an old house. I'm making sure I get it fumigated before I move in and any patched up. I can't have any rats in my house, I'd have to move out."

Tyra has Delfiniphobia, which is a fear of dolphins.

Tyra stated, "I’ve been afraid of them since I was 8 or 9. I have dreams that I am in a pool and there are dolphins bumping me and I’m frightened."
