Katherine Heigl Selling Hot Tub Neighbor War House in Los Feliz

Actress Katherine Heigl and singer Josh Kelley are selling their Colonial in Los Feliz, site of the much-discussed Hot Tub Incident of 2010--Heigl went on all the talk shows to explain that the pair had called the police after their neighbor yelled at them for some after-dark (PG) hot tubbing (TMZ, naturally, caught the LAPD visit on tape). She told Ryan Seacrest that "Everyone else in the neighborhood is so awesome. This guy is always screaming at us." According to Redfin, the pair bought the house in 2007 for $2.55 million; it comes with four bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, "original charm & beautiful updates," crown molding, dark wood floors, dining room, "beautifully landscaped grounds," a back veranda, a grassy yard, a pool, and of course a spa. It's also "very private." No one but your neighbors and TMZ checking in. Asking price is $2.659 million.

Jodie Foster Selling Her Long-Time Home in the Bird Streets

Jodie Foster picked up a new house in Beverly Hills late last year and now she's ditching her Bird Streets house, which she bought in the mid-nineties (possibly from Cheryl Tiegs and Tony Peck, according to the ever-reliable Real Estalker). The 1935 house has four bedrooms, three full baths, and two half baths on three floors, with a step-down living room, a dining room, a butler's pantry, a screening room, a central courtyard with pool and patio, and multiple balconies, plus a guest suite above the garage with a bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchenette, and a roof terrace. Asking price is $6.399 million.

All the Changes Jennifer Aniston is Making to Her Bel Air House

Jennifer Aniston bought her massive and lovely Bel Air property (designed by the very great A. Quincy Jones) way back at the beginning of 2012, and has been renovating it for ages now. (Word back about a year ago was that she was shacked up in a crazy Hal Levitt design in Trousdale Estates.) Radar came through yesterday with a minor ConstructionWatch: "renovations are complete" and Aniston has "upgraded" a backyard chicken coop and added a wooden deck; she's also added an herb and vegetable garden, according to X17. Are we sure this isn't in Silver Lake?? What else is Aniston doing to the house? We combed the permit records:
-- A bedroom addition
-- A master bedroom addition and remodel
-- A carport addition
-- A kitchen and bathroom remodel (but no structural changes)
-- A stairway relocation
-- Adding one-story "new accessory living quarters"
-- A remodel of the pool/spa
-- A poolhouse remodel
-- A "new (10 SF) counter bar, library and powder room"

Mostly the work seems to be non-noticeable practical stuff like installing sprinklers or pond pumps, replacing drywall, and adding retaining walls. Aniston's historically been a pretty good architectural steward.

Bruce Willis Selling 1928 Spanish in Beverly Hills For $22 Million

A few weeks ago, Bruce Willis's brother/producer listed his Paul Williams-designed house in Miracle Mile and now it looks like Bruce has also caught sell-off fever. He's listed his 1928 house in Benedict Canyon, which he's owned since 2004, reports the Real Estalker. The house comes with 11 bedrooms (five in the main house and six apparently elsewhere), 11 bathrooms in 10,379 square feet, a tennis court, a "state of the art screening room," an interior courtyard, a tennis court, and "all the modern conveniences one could desire" on nearly an acre. (Willis, for the record, also owns a smallish ranch off Mulholland.) He paid $9 million for the house and is now selling for $22 million.

Meryl Streep Buys Honnold & Rex Research House in the Hills

Meryl Streep is generally an East Coaster, but the ever-wonderful Real Estalker hears she's picked up a place in the Hollywood Hills--that place happens to be Architectural Products's 1954 Research House, which was originally designed by Honnold & Rex and recently majorly remodeled by Xorin Balbes. The house hit the market in October 2012 asking $5.995 million and Streep and sculptor husband Don Gummer (or the trust associated with their known real estate) seem to have gotten a good deal: they paid $4.5 million in early February. The house comes with four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a "completely customizable audio and security system [that] can be controlled from your Smart phone or computer," a pool, a "direct access, specially ventilated garage" with "special deionized water … available for your detailer." Word is it's actually singer/songwriter son Henry Gummer who's living in the house.

Katy Perry Pays $11.2MM For Two Properties On Top of Runyon

Pop star Katy Perry has been real estate busy since her divorce last year--word was she was renting in West Hollywood's Colonial House, she sold her Manhattan duplex, and she listed her DeWitt Residence in Laurel Canyon, and now she's apparently moving on up the hill. The ever-fabulous Real Estalker hears that Perry's picked up two neighboring properties right at the top of Runyon Canyon, which seems like it might be incredibly annoying, especially for a superfamous celeb, but maybe she really loves a good hike with her dog. The two properties total 3.95 acres and were both purchased from heiress/philanthropist Aileen Getty--one has a glassy four-bedroom modernish thing (which Getty bought from E Streeter Max Weinberg, who bought it from writers/celebrity parents Stephen Gyllenhall and Naomi Foner); the other has "a nearly 4,000 square foot mock-Med main house, a semi-detached poolside guesthouse/cabana, and some sort of barn/equestrian facility" (or that's what it had in 2004, when Getty bought it from Walmart heiress Sybil Robson Orr). Perry paid $3 million for the modernish house and $8.2 million for the mock-Mediterranean, for a grand total of $11.2 million

Drew Barrymore Selling Off Wedding House in Montecito

Drew Barrymore's ditching the Montecito estate where she was married to art consultant Will Kopelman last year--she's owned the house since before she ever knew Kopelman, way back in 2010. According to the ever-wonderful Real Estalker, she paid $5.705 million for the house in June that year; flash-forward to June 2012, when the pair were married at the property in front of Reese Witherspoon and everyone. The 1937 house was designed by Chester Carjola and sits on more than two acres; it comes with six bedrooms, seven and a half bathrooms, a library, a dining room, a sun porch/gallery connecting the two, wood-burning fireplaces galore, built-ins, a kitchen with vintage refrigerators and two industrial ranges, a breakfast room, a butler's pantry, a laundry room, a two-story guesthouse, a four-car garage, a brick terrace, and fruit trees. Asking price is $7.5 million. Just before the wedding, Kopelman sold off his crazy-swank condo in West Hollywood. Barrymore's main house is in the Hill and is, reportedly, "rather spectacular."

Here's the Hills House Hugh Hefner Just Bought For His Wife

TMZ reports that Playboy chief Hugh Hefner has kindly bought a house for his wife Crystal Harris to live in after he dies. Aw? The house above the Sunset Strip was just built in 2011 and comes with four bedrooms, five bathrooms, terraces galore, walnut floors, floating staircase, a theater, an "oversized game and entertainment area," a pool and spa, and smart technology. It's been on and off the market since it was built, and most recently looks to have been asking $5.495 million. Hef paid $4.995 million. Meanwhile, for now anyway, "the couple is happily living at the Playboy Mansion, and they have no plans to move."

Kate Walsh Relists and PriceUps Lovely Los Feliz Spanish

Median home prices might not have rebounded to their 2007 peak, but actress Kate Walsh (Private Practice) is hoping her home's price has. After failing to sell her lovely (though what's up with that "movie star" bathroom?) Spanish in Los Feliz in 2011--for almost a million less than she paid for it in 2007--the house is back on for bang-on what she paid: $4.75 million. Just north of Los Feliz Boulevard, the house has four bedrooms, six baths, "large and gracious" public rooms, lots of vintage tile, and a "majestic" entry with a dramatic stairway. Outside there's a pool, spa, large lawn, and a guesthouse with a pilates studio and two offices. Built in 1928, the house sits on 0.31-acres.

Did Beyoncé and Jay-Z Pay $40MM+ For Cher's Malibu House?

Perez Hilton, Vibe, and others are reporting that world's most important couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z have laid down north of $40 million to buy Cher's 1.7-acre walled compound in Malibu. This wouldn't be quite as awesome as the pair buying Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch (as they were rumored to be doing in February), but it's still pretty damn splashy. The property comes with a six-bedroom Italian Renaissance mansion with a gym and theater (with design by Ron Wilson), plus a walled tennis court, a pool, an underground garage, and a guesthouse. Cher first listed it back in 2008 for $45 million, then relisted a couple months ago for $41 million. Vibe reports that Bey and Jay paid $45 million, but the ever-reliable Real Estalker is skeptical: "Property records do not yet reflect a transfer of ownership and, children, keep in mind that Your Mama has many times been told by various players in the high stakes world of high price L.A. real estate that Cher has at least twice turned down offers in excess of $40 million."

Reese Witherspoon Buys Third House in Brentwood Circle

Reese Witherspoon, formerly America's sweetheart and now just, you know, "an American citizen," is compounding it up in gated Brentwood Circle, where Real Estalker reveals she recently added a third property to her estate. Witherspoon first bought a house in the neighborhood back in 2003 (when she was still married to Ryan Phillippe), paying $4.725 million for a "nearly 7,000 square foot mock-Med mini-mansion"; in 2009, after her divorce, she paid $3.325 million for a neighboring house, which she then demolished and converted to extra yard. Her latest purchase is a 1956 ranch that had been owned for four decades by actress/model/designer Elyse Knox (who died in early 2012). The house came with four bedrooms, four bathrooms, handpainted oak floors, a glass-enclosed breakfast room, a pool, brick terraces, and a "romantic stone and glass art studio/guest house," all on two-thirds of an acre. Witherspoon paid $3 million flat for the property in late December. She and agent husband Jim Toth had recently been looking for a $15 to $20 million property in Los Angeles, but it appears they might be settling in in Brentwood, where they've now laid out $11.05 million for 1.32 acres. Meanwhile, Witherspoon is still trying to sell her lovely Libbey Ranch in Ojai.

Cher Selling Off Homes in West Hollywood, Malibu, and Venice

Cher is holding a great SoCal sell-off for some unknown reason--she's just unloaded a condo in West Hollywood's Sierra Towers, relisted her spread in Malibu, and relisted a house in Venice. She listed the Sierra Towers unit just a couple months back, asking $5.5 million and, according to TMZ, has just sold it for $5.25 million. Kanye West Lists Hollywood Hills House For $3.3 Million

Rapper Kanye West and lover/human being Kim Kardashian have been pretty busy real-estate-wise lately. In January, they bought a McMansion in Bel Air Crest and in February they supposedly entertained offers to flip it; supposedly, they've turned those down and are now carrying out an extensive remodel. Also in February, we found out that Kardashian finally sold her Beverly Hills house. So this makes sense: West has now publicly listed his Hollywood Hills house. He'd previously and briefly tried to sell it back in 2010 for $3.995 million. The three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom house is a "modern masterpiece," according to the listing, and comes with walnut floors, Minotti chandeliers, and "plenty of space to build a swimming pool." The old listing also showed a shower aquarium and said the whole place was controlled by computers. Asking price now is $3.3 million.
Here's the Bel Air House Kim and Kanye Are Gutting Right Now

Are Kim Kardashian and Kanye West selling the ugly McMansion they just bought in Bel Air Crest or not? Latest reports say: not. The expectant parents paid $9 million for the house in late January, and it was rumored to be in escrow again shortly after; word was they intended to flip. But TMZ hears now that, while they are receiving offers, they're also turning them all down. Apparently they've gotten three of 'em, for as high as $10.5 million. Who are these people who desperately need to overpay for an ugly house in kind of a weird location (high above the 405 Freeway in the northern reaches of Bel Air)? Whoever they are, K&K showed them the hand and are supposedly "already deep in the throes of remodeling and they plan to move in a few months from now."

Madonna Lists Sunset Boulevard Mansion For $22.5 Million

Looks like Madonna hasn't been able to nab herself a Russian or Chinese billionaire--she pocket-listed her Beverly Hills house sometime last year but it's now appeared on the wide open market, and with a price chop to boot. Real Estalker reported last year that the nine-bedroom, fifteen-bathroom (!!) house was being quietly shopped around for $28 million; it was listed on the MLS yesterday. (The house, incidentally, sits next door on Sunset Boulevard to the Richard Neutra-designed Kronish House, which belongs to Greek shipping heir Stavros Niarchos.) According to the listing, the house was "recently remodeled" and has "two living/reception rooms a two story dining room, a jr dining room, large kitchen/breakfast room/den, a full size screening room/theatre, two offices, assistants offices, a gym, staff rooms, two guest houses, N/S Tennis Court and a resort size pool." This is fucking Madonna, we're talking about here, after all. It all sits on 1.17 acres, set back from Sunset with a 500-foot driveway. Asking price is now $22.5 million

Rihanna Pays $12 Million For Post-LeakGate House in Pac Pal

Pop star Rihanna was last seen taking a bath, literal and figurative, on a pretty ugly mansion in Beverly Crest--she bought the house in 2009 for $6.9 million, sued a whole bunch of people when it started leaking like crazy, and walked away just about a year ago, selling for $5.03 million (it was flipped back on the market in September). Now Trulia Luxe Living reports she's picked up a new contemporary mansion, this time in Pacific Palisades. The seven-bedroom, nine-bathroom house was just built in 2010 and comes with a pool and spa, a kitchen with 14-foot ceilings, a wetbar, a 6,000 square foot garden, and an outdoor barbecue and bar. James Franco Bought Mad Men Costumer's Silver Lake House

A few months ago we saw that Deadwood and Mad Men costume designer Janie Bryant had very quickly unloaded her little 1920s compound in Silver Lake for $775,000; now the ever-informative Real Estalker reveals that the buyer is artist, curator, grad student, actor, and soap star James Franco. According to rumor, early filmmaker DW Griffith built the property, which now has a two-bedroom main house and a one-bedroom guesthouse, as a vacation home; it's since been owned by Princess Tatiana von Furstenberg (daughter of Diane). According to RE, Franco "has plans to fix up the quirky but kinda dumpy two-unit mini-compound where he's currently shacked up with his long-time b.f.f and producing partner Vince Jolivette." He last owned a house in Los Angeles in 2009.

David Hasselhoff Lists Encino House Bought at Height of Fame

What's Knight Rider/Baywatch hunk, singer, and sloppy drunk David Hasselhoff been up to lately? Anyone know? Is he still big in Germany? Well, anyway, he's selling his 1988 house in Encino--according to Redfin, he bought the place way back in 1991 for $2.975 million (that was post-Knight Rider and the year Baywatch went into wildly successful first-run syndication). The property is nearly one and a half acres and includes a four-bedroom, five and a half-bathroom main house; two one-bedroom, one-bathroom guesthouses with kitchens; a pool, waterfall, and "grotto spa"; and a tennis court. Asking price is $3.795 million. Meanwhile, Hasselhoff's ex-wife Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff has apparently been unable to sell her house in the Hollywood Hills; it's been delisted.

Here's the Sunset Strip Mid-Century A-Rod Was Checking Out

Uh oh: Amid rumors of a trade, here's Yankee Alex Rodriguez house shopping in the Hills. A-Rod and his wrestler girlfriend Torrie Wilson were caught on the hunt yesterday, according to TMZ; they were checking out this classic California mid-century house on Rising Glen Road above the Sunset Strip, which, incidentally, has lost its best feature since we last saw it in 2009. Back then it was asking $1.895 million and still had a lovely mason fireplace, along with two bedrooms--now it's white all the way, three-bedrooms, and asking $3.195 million. A-Rod flipped a condo in Manhattan earlier this year and is also trying to sell off a place in Miami.
Kristen Stewart Buys House Near Robert Pattinson's in Los Feliz

Are they? Aren't they? Is it a spectacular coincidence that their movie is coming out soon? These are the questions the world (gossip rags) are asking themselves about Twilight stars/sexy young people Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson (They were spotted at Ye Rustic! What does it mean?). Meanwhile, ever-on-top-of-it Real Estalker has noticed that Stewart appears to have bought a rather "eh" house in Los Feliz's Laughlin Park, just a mile and a half from RPattz's place. RE calls the four-bedroom, four and a half-bathroom "a questionable but not completely unsuccessful architectural potpourri of southwestern and contemporary styles"; it also has a pool, a long veranda, two fireplaces, a firepit, a fountain, and a yard. According to Redfin, it was most recently asking $2.195 million, which is exactly what Stewart paid for it.

Mel Gibson Finally Sells Malibu Compound For $9 Million

After two and a half years, Mel Gibson has finally sold off his Malibu compound (known as Lavender Hill Farm because rich people like to give their stuff dumb names). He listed the 3.05-acre property way back in March 2010 for $14.5 million and had it listed most recently at $11.25 million. LHF was "originally built by an award-winnind composer," according to the listing, and includes a six-bedroom main house, pool, spa, tennis court, detached media room, detached gym, a two-story "entertainment pavilion," three guesthouses, orchards, two offices, and all kinds of landscaping. There are also reports of a chapel on the property. According to a 2010 Real Estalker story, Gibson picked up the property in 1993 "for an undisclosed amount of money." He's just sold, according to Redfin, for the highly-specific $9.26125 million.

Drake Buys Saddle Ranch Owner's Crazy Hidden Hills Grotto

A few months back we were running down the list of young celebs who inexplicably live in Calabasas and Hidden Hills and were especially surprised to see rapper/singer/Degrassi alum Drake pop up. Drake! You are cooler than Hidden Hills! But now this makes a little more sense: according to Trulia (via our cousins at Curbed National), he's picked up the Hidden Hills estate of Saddle Ranch owner Larry Pollack, which has an enormous grotto with its own wetbars. Now that is kind of cool. The estate hit the market in 2009 asking $27 million; it comes with six bedrooms, ten bathrooms, a 28-person theater, a gaming room, a spa and massage room, a gym, a wine cellar, a tennis court, a volleyball court, an equestrian ring, stables, and three acres of land. Drake paid just $7.7 million.
Are Ellen and Portia Buying Kelly Wearstler's Old Hal Levitt?

Now that Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have offloaded their Beverly Hills compound onto Ryan Seacrest (reportedly for $37 million), where are the mid-century enthusiasts moving? Your Mama at Real Estalker is pretty sure it's into a very interesting property on Hillcrest Road in Trousdale Estates--the four-bedroom, six-bathroom house was designed by Hal Levitt and originally built in 1958 for Diane and Charles Skouras Jr., who sold to KOR Group developer Brad Korzen and manic pixie decorator Kelly Wearstler in 2002. Wearstler, of course, "gave the low-slung sprawler a do-over in her freaky-deaky signature style" and sold in 2006 to producers Bob Cort and Rosalie Swedlin for $9.9 million. Your Mama hears that those latest owners were shopping the house around for "from $20,000,000." Okee doke. The house also comes with a "commercial kitchen," a sunken living room, and a pool (the listing also notes that it was "Gorgeously updated by international renowned designer"). Word has it that DeGeneres "paid somewhere in the neighborhood" of $17 or $18 million.

Justin Bieber Buying Ashton Kutcher's Hollywood Hills Rental

In news guaranteed to make anyone over 22 feel grumpy and confused, pop star Justin Bieber is supposedly buying the crazy Hollywood Hills house that Ashton Kutcher has been renting, according to the Daily Mail. We first noticed the house back in June 2011 when it was pricechopped from $12.5 million to $10.8 million (its current asking price). Bieber is going full-on mini-Kutcher and has also been working on a reboot of the seminal mid-aughts celebrity pranking show Punk'd. Kutcher was seen sniffing around the Lake Hollywood house in December and is reportedly now renting it for $50,000 a month. The house has five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a theater, a gym, an elevator, a sauna, retractable glas walls, and of course an infinity pool. It was built for fashion exec Arif Noor and designed by Jeffrey and Rochelle Mills. Bieber was last rumored to have been looking at a condo on the Wilshire Corridor.

Now he's officially off with Demi and looking for a new place, according to X17 (last we heard, the couple's marital house is in Benedict Canyon). The gossip site says Kutcher has been to check out this super-flash Lake Hollywood house, which we first saw back in June, right after it'd gotten it a massive pricechop. The house was designed by Jeffrey and Rochelle Mills and belongs to fashion exec Arif Noor (of the multi-brand company CMT). It's composed of two glass and steel boxes connected by a glass bridge, and has five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a floating dining area, retractable glass walls, a movie theater, a gym, and a crazy master bath. The house first came on the market way back in January 2010 asking $12.5 million, but has since been chopped to merely $10.8 million. According to X17, it's also available for rent at $50k per month and Kutcher checked it out for more than an hour.

Chris Brown Ditches WeHo Party Condo For Lake Hollywood Party House Designed By Jay Vanos

We heard a few weeks ago that singer/frequent tantrum-thrower Chris Brown had packed up and moved from his West Hollywood condo building, where he's owned the top-floor unit and pissed off neighbors and the developers alike since February. The Daily (via Real Estalker) digs the dirt on where he's gone--a three bedroom house in Lake Hollywood designed by architect Jay Vanos. According to an old listing, the house is only a couple years old and has an elevator, smart home control, green roof, "multiple land bridges," and is "sure to satisfy the needs of the most discerning architectural buyer," because that's totally what you think when you think 22 year old pop star, right? The house backs up on open Lake Hollywood land, but Brown still has neighbors on every other side and "one resident" tells The Daily "A few of us are nervous about what is going to happen, given Brown’s track record." Charlie Sheen Shells Out For a Flip in Sherman Oaks

Alleged serial woman abuser Charlie Sheen appears to have actually gone through with his controlling scheme to buy a house in his Mulholland Estates neighborhood for one of his ex-wives (or maybe it's for a gaggle of porn actresses or a 9,000 square foot shrine to "Major League" or his knife collection. Who knows!). The Wall Street Journal reported earlier this month that Sheen was in contract to buy "Black Swan" producer Mike Medavoy's Sherman Oaks house and the property just closed escrow yesterday (fun fact: the developers got a 90210 zip code for Mulholland Estates, but the area is full Valley). Neil Patrick Harris Wants Out of Airy Studio City Home

Former "Doogie" and current "How I Met Your Mother Star" Neil Patrick Harris is looking to unload his three bed/two bath Studio City home that he bought with partner David Burtka in 2007 for $1.5 million, according to shelterpop. Harris and Burtka are asking for $1.59 million for the Galewood Street house, but they've put in a lot of work, including painting the ceiling beams black (upgrade) and remodeling the kitchen with rustic wood paneling. Most of the rooms have windowed double doors that look out onto pretty spectacular views. Other highlights: three-car garage, fireplace (marble, though), and the half-acre lot contains enough outside space for some bitchin' fiestas.
Live 'Burlesque' at Christina Aguilera's Beverly Hills Mansion

Singer Christina Aguilera is looking to unload her Beverly Hills mansion, reports many outlets, including Radar and the Daily Mail. Aguilera purchased the pink palace in 2007 for $11.5 million from Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, and is now asking for $13.5M. "Some of the more celebrity-style amenities include a fitness room, game room, gift-wrapping area, movie room, beauty salon–natch–and a guesthouse worked over into a recording studio," reports Real Estalker.
