Was the original - The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) - worth a look?
In my opinion, it is a little bit old now and not really frightening anymore and the ending is a total mess. Still, it remains a classic, a solid horror movie and a definitive milestone for this genre.

Will I ever watch this remake?
Since it was released on Netflix, I guess I could easily watch it without investing too much of my time and/or money in the damned thing. However, since it was poorly received and since none of the actors involved or the director seem to be interesting, I think I will skip it though.

Was the original - Black Christmas (1974) - worth a look?
According to my good friend the giraffe, the original Black Christmas is the slasher film that inspired Halloween and all the rest. It would be the first slasher film, though that credit is more due to Peeping Tom (which he also highly recommends). And thus Black Christmas is worth checking out, even though it's not the best slasher film in his opinion. So, yeah, I'm definitely interested now.

Was this remake worth a look?
I was pretty sure that it was a remake of a vintage horror flick (which I haven’t seen) but I didn’t realize that it was yet already the 2nd remake less than 15 years after the previous one (which I haven’t seen either). Well, the only remarkable thing about this 3rd version is that it turned out to be even worse than the previous one which already had a seriously lame reputation.

It

Directed by: Andy Muschietti ('Mama')

With: Bill Skarsgård

Was the original - It (1990) - worth a look?
Even though the directing and acting were nothing really amazing, it was still a fascinating story. Indeed, usually, I have a hard time to care about Stephen King's fantastic and horror stories, but this was absolutely a great story, easily one of King's best, and I might even consider reading the book at some point. And, of course, Tim Curry was just downright impressive and he delivered here one of the most unforgettable bad guys ever.

Was this remake worth a look?
In fact, I was supposed to see this movie when it was released but, at the last minute, Nick, my step-on, bailed out. Eventually, since I kept hearing some really good things about this flick, I was even more eager to check it out. Well, even though I did like it, somehow, it didn’t really completely blow me away though. Maybe it had to do with the fact that I saw that the acclaimed TV mini-series less than a year before but, in fact, with this version, they improved pretty much everything that was disappointing with the first version. Indeed, the directing was pretty good, the special effets were top-notch and the kids all gave some really solid performances. Concerning Bill Skarsgård, he gave a completely different performance than Tim Curry but he did a really fine job as well. So, it was all fine and, yet, the whole thing never really grabbed me. Maybe it was because I already knew where everything was leading to, maybe it was because it was too faithful to the book. Anyway, it was still a really solid horror flick though and it is definitely worth a look.

Poltergeist (2015)

Directed by: Gil Kenan ('Monster House', 'City of Ember')

With: Sam Rockwell

Was the original - Poltergeist (1982) - worth a look?
Even though Tobe Hooper had some major success with 'The Texas Chainsaw massacre', his following features never had much critical or financial success. The only exception would be this feature but many argue that this movie belongs to Spielberg. But how was it eventually? It was not bad at all but I can't say I was really blown away by the whole thing. Of course, I thought that the special effects were pretty impressive, however, if some scenes worked pretty well, some others didn't and the whole thing was not really well written in my opinion.

Will I ever watch this remake?
Well, since I didn't really care much for the original version and since this remake was a big flop when it was released, I can't say I'm really dying to watch the damned thing. On the other hand, since I always had a weak spot for Sam Rockwell, I might still check it out at some point.

Carrie (2013)

Directed by: Kimberly Peirce ('Boys Don't Cry', 'Stop-Loss')

With: Chloë Grace Moretz, Julianne Moore, Ansel Elgort

Was the original - Carrie (1976) - worth a look?
It has been a while since I have seen this flick and maybe I should give it a 2nd chance at some point but, to be honest, I was really blown away by the whole thing. I mean, it was a decent watch but I didn't care much for this story. In fact, I even read the book at some point and it was definitely not the best thing written by Stephen King, as far as I'm concerned.

Was this remake worth a look?
Apparently, this movie was massively reedited during post-production, they have allegedly removed 45 mins and the end-results turned out to be a critical and commercial flop. Eventually, the whole thing felt indeed rather out of balance and while the prom scene took at least a 1/3 of the whole running time, there was barely any development of the characters. Above all, I wish they developed more Carrie White’s background.

Evil Dead (2013)

Directed by: Fede Alvarez

With: Jessica Lucas

Was the original - The Evil Dead (1981) - worth a look?
It has been a while since I have seen the damned thing and I should definitely re-watch it at some point but there is no denying that it is pretty much a massive classic and a must-see for any decent movie lover.

Was this remake worth a look?
I thought it would be pretty neat to check this remake, especially since it was rather well received when it was released. Well, to be honest, I really had a hard time to care about the damned thing. I mean, sure, it was technically well done, I also appreciate the fact that they wanted to go into a really different direction than with the original movie and it was pretty neat to see all these nods to the original trilogy but, eventually, the whole thing turned out to be really boring. It comes down to what would you get if you would remove the humor and Ash from 'The Evil Dead'? Basically, a rather typical and tedious slasher flick.

Directed by: Craig Gillespie ('Lars and the Real Girl', 'Mr. Woodcock')

With: Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrell, Toni Collette, David Tennant, Imogen Poots, Christopher Mintz-Plasse

Was the original - Fright Night (1985) - worth a look?
I haven't seen it but the ratings are pretty good and it has a decent cult following. I will probably check it out when I have the opportunity.

Was this remake worth a look?
Basically, it is yet another vampire movie dealing with some teenagers and even though it was more rewarding than 'Twilight', it was still not original enough to be really amazing but, still, I thought it was fairly entertaining. Concerning Craig Gillespie, you have to give the guy some praise for trying something totally different from one movie to the other with some fairly good results on top of that ('Mr. Woodcock', 'Lars and the Real Girl', this movie and 'Million Dollar Arm').

Directed by: Matt Reeves ('Cloverfield')

With: Kodi Smit-McPhee, Chloë Grace Moretz, Richard Jenkins, Elias Koteas

Was the original - Låt den rätte komma in (2008) - worth a look?
Yeah, definitely. It must be one of the most striking and original vampire flicks to be released in the last 10 years. The funny thing is that when it came out, the 'Twilight' franchise was breaking box-office records. Anyway, this movie is the proof that you can combine vampires and teenage anxiety with tremendous success.

Was this remake worth a look?
Precisely like I was expecting, I had some rather mixed feelings about the whole thing. Indeed, even though the cast is decent, the director is all right and the whole thing was actually pretty good, they didn't add much to the original and, in this case, it seemed rather pointless to remake it only two years later (I had the same issue with 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo').

Was the original - I Spit on Your Grave (1978) - worth a look?
Even though it has become somehow a cult classic, some other viewers like Roger Ebert consider it as one of the worst movies ever made so it is a matter of taste, I guess...

Will I ever watch this remake?
Like its predecessor, it has its fans and, like its predecessor, Roger Ebert thought it was completely awful and not entertaining at all. I guess it is once again a matter of taste but I'm not really interested...

Directed by: Darren Lynn Bousman ('Saw II, Saw III', 'Saw IV')

With: Rebecca De Mornay, Jaime King, Deborah Ann Woll

Was the original - Mother's Day (1980) - worth a look?
I haven't seen it but it seems to be the perfect example of an average and rather obscure horror flick from the 80's.... Why remaking this? Because all the GOOD horror movies have all already been remade, I guess...

Will I ever watch this remake?
I'm not sure about this one... On one hand, it seems to be another superfluous remake of another average horror flick. On the other hand, Rebecca de Mornay could be awesome in such a flick. Furthermore, the rating for this movie is actually pretry high on listal so I'm actually curious about this one.

Was the original - A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) - worth a look?
Even though I'm not really a fan, I still thoroughly enjoyed it and it is a must see for any decent horror fan (Hell.... I even have a box-set with the first 7 movies!).

Was this remake worth a look?
Well, even though apparently everybody pretty much hated the damned thing when it was released, to be honest, I thought it was actually not bad at all. At least, it was watchable which is rather unique for a modern horror remake delivered by Platinum Dunes. One of the biggest critics about this movie was the fact that it was way too similar to the original version but it didn’t bother me, in the contrary, I thought that it was rather faithful and the mood was decent enough. Still, it is a rather useless remake and, if you have the choice, you should always go for the original version directed by Wes Craven.

Was the original - The Crazies (1973) - worth a look?
Honestly, before making this list, I had never heard of this movie but when I discovered it was directed by George A. Romero, I became interested right away. Everything directed by Romero is worth a look if you are into this genre.

Was this remake worth a look?
Romero's flicks are always liked by remakers. It is already his 4th movies remade and since the original zombie trilogy has already been remade (sometimes even several times), they are now looking for his more obscure movies. Honestly, I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. Of course, it is nothing really amazing but I thought it was a well made virus themed feature and I had a fairly good time watching this.

With: Benicio Del Toro, Emily Blunt, Anthony Hopkins, Hugo Weaving

Was the original - The Wolf Man (1941) - worth a look?
I haven't seen this one yet but since it is such a classic, it is definitely worth a look even though it must look pretty cheesy nowadays.

Was this remake worth a look?
It has been years in production which was pretty stormy with Mark Romanek dropping out. Eventually, when it was released, it was received by some lackluster reviews and it wasn't a success at the box-office either. In my opinion, it was originally a good idea to remake this flick and, in spite ot its flaws, it is still worth a look, especially for its cool cast.

Was the original - The Last House on the Left (1972) - worth a look?
Finally, I saw this one and, honestly, it didn't grow old very well. I mean, it is a notoriously violent movie but, 40 years later, it looks pretty tame. Still, it remains a solid feature directed by the great horror master, Wes Craven.

Was this remake worth a look?
Not really. Basically, it was one of those rather tedious horror-porn flicks which inflict you one nauseous scene after the other just to see how much you can take. Unfortunately, I was never interested in this genre.

With: Emily Browning, Arielle Kebbel, David Strathairn, Elizabeth Banks

Was the original - Janghwa, Hongryeon (2003) - worth a look?
It looks quite awesome (just check the poster!) and I hope I'll see it one day. Anyway, it seems to be one of the better horror movies coming from South Korea.

Was this remake worth a look?
Eventually, what pissed me off the most about this movie was that it pretty much ruined 'A Tale of Two Sisters' which sounded like a really solid Asian horror flick. Hopefully, I will forget about this lousy remake before I ever watch the original version. Seriously, I always hate it when, in a horror movie, even though they are dealing with a mental patient, there is no psychology whatsoever but some boring paranormal nonsense. For example, all the scenes involing Elizabeth Banks should have been much more ambiguous. Instead, they gave us the good old trick it never happened like this, it happened like that only in her head' which is such a lame and lazy gimmick.

With: Jared Padalecki, Danielle Panabaker

Was the original - Friday the 13th (1980) - worth a look?
From all the older classics, it is actually my favorite. Yeah, in my opinion, it is better than 'A Nightmare in Elm Street', 'Halloween', 'The Texas Chainsaw massacre', 'The Exorcist',... Maybe it has to do with the fact that I saw it almost 20 years ago, way before the rest and that I'm being nostalgic and all. Anyway, it remains a must see for any decent horror fan.

Was this remake worth a look?
I actually really enjoyed the very first 'Friday the 13th' and it must be my one of favorite slashers but one of the main reasons this movie worked so well was because Jason's mother was actually the killer but since Jason Voorhees has always been iconic to this franchise, they decided to focus on him instead. What bothered me even more with this movie was the fact that, even though it was not even 100 mins, it still felt so damned long which was definitely not a good sign. Anyway, the damned thing was just seriously weak.

Was the original - The Stepfather (1987) - worth a look?
I must admit, I have a weak spot for Terry O'Quinn and it looks pretty cool but I doubt that it must be really mind-blowing.

Was this remake worth a look?
Basically, it was supposed to be a rather creepy movie about some rather creepy guy but, to be honest, I wasn’t impressed by the end-result, in fact, far from it. The first issue was that Dylan Walsh was never charismatic enough when he was acting like a ‘good’ guy and he was never threatening enough when he was going full psycho. Another problem was that nothing much really happened through the damned thing. As a result, to fill up the running time, they apparently made the rather weird decision to add as many scenes as possible involving Amber Heard around the pool in her bikini.

It has been years since I saw something directed by Takashi Miike so I would definitely check this one out if I get the opportunity.

Was this remake worth a look?
Honestly, even though it was pretty average, it was not that bad. Basically, it is a combination of 'The Ring' which I love (The Japanese version) and 'Final Destination' which was not bad. The directing and the acting were average and the special effects were pretty shabby but it remained watchable with a (very) few scary moments. Still, it remains an average horror remake and it is not really worth a look, even if you like the genre.

Was the original - [Rec] (2007) - worth a look?
Even though it is not really original and rather far-fetched, it is a pretty good and a really entertaining 'found footage' flick. If you don't mind the shaky cam, it is definitely worth a look.

Was this remake worth a look?
It must be one of the quickest remakes ever made. Indeed, it was released just a year after the original. I had some low expectations for this one but I thought it was actually pretty entertaining. However, it is basically a replicate of the Spanish version and they didn't add anything new to the whole thing. So, even though it is a decent and entertaining remake, it is and remains rather useless.

After watching 2 of their American procuctions, 'Bangkok Dangerous' and 'The Messengers', I can't say I'm convinced by the Pang brothers. Still, it seems to be a solid Asian horror flick.

Was this remake worth a look?
Following the foot steps of Naomi Watts and Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jessica Alba hoped to find some success with this remake of an Asian horror flick but, unfortunately for her, the end-result was rather disappointing. Personally, I was more interested by the whole psycholigical aspect than the horror setting which reminded of a half-baked version of 'Final Destination' (of which I wasn't a big fan in the first place).

Even though it may not be as prestigious as the two 1st zombie movies directed by Romero, it is still a solid effort and a must see if you like this genre.

This looks pretty bad... The ratings are really low and it is basically a cash-in following the success of the 'Dawn of the dead' remake. It even has the same actor (Ving Rhames) showing up in a different part but, honestly, I only heard bad things about this flick.

It must have been pretty neat to see this movie in the 50's, when the formula was completely new. Furthermore, I wish they didn't force Don Siegel to add an introduction and this happy-end because the movie, above all with a bleaker ending, would have worked better. Still, it is a really solid horror flick, terribly effective and entertaining.

Was this remake worth a look?
The big question with this flick is why did they think it was a good idea to make a 3rd remake?!? In my opinion, it is not the worst version, I liked Ferrara's even less but it is still pretty average. It's too bad since there was actually an impressive cast but they didn't add anyhing new to the whole concept. Watch it at your own risk...

I know that many people didn't really like it but I thought it was pretty good. I mean, it is, of course, not a masterpiece whatsoever but for a blockbuster, I thought it was not bad at all. What's the point of remaking EXACTLY the same movie (it is said that the house even has the same dimensions) ? Who cares when it is directed by the great Haneke?!? Was the original - Halloween (1978) - worth a look?
It is one of the most legendary horror flicks ever made and has been so influential for all the slasher movies that came afterwards. A must see.

Was this remake worth a look?
Well, I thought it was not bad at all. Indeed, what I really liked was the fact that Zombie took a really different approach, at least, during the first half. Indeed, for once, they focused on Michael Myers’s childhood which was a nice idea. However, it turned out to be only a very long introduction and the rest of the movie was basically a rather faithful remake of Carpenter’s classic. Eventually, the only thing that bothered me with this remake was that they made the same mistake that they already did with ‘Halloween II’ which was to give Michael Myers some kind of super powers.

'In a few years, it will be 2006. Let's make a remake of The Omen!' What a lame idea... I mean, Liev Schreiber was actually pretty good but that's about it, I'm afraid... The boy was not good, Julia Stiles was miscast and the whole thing was just plain average.

Will I ever watch this remake?
I don't know... It looks pretty bad.... Maybe if I don't have anything else to watch and I'm dying to see another average horror remake?

Pulse (2006)

Directed by: Jim Sonzero

With: Kristen Bell, Ian Somerhalder, Christina Milian

Was the original - Kairo (2001) - worth a look?
Since I have a weak spot for Japanese horror movies, I would definitely give this one a chance even though I'm not sure if it is any good.

Will I ever watch this remake?
At this point, they are remaking almost anything coming from Asia and the end result is usually not really impressive... I'm not dying to see this one.

The Fog (2005)

Directed by: Rupert Wainwright ('Stigmata')

With: Maggie Grace, Selma Blair

Was the original - The Fog (1980) - worth a look?
As a matter of fact, I have just seen this movie and I thought it was pretty good. It may not have the same reputation as some other flicks directed by John Carpenter but, 30 years later after being released, it still is one of the best ghost movies ever made.

Will I ever watch this remake?
According to IMDB, this is basically the worst remake on this list so I shouldn't expect much from this one even if Selma Blair is actually a pretty cool actress.

Was the original - The Amityville Horror (1979) - worth a look?
I haven't seen it but even though the ratings are rather low, it is still a classic so I think it is still worth a look.

Was this remake worth a look?
First of all, I want to give some credit to Ryan Reynolds. He keeps trying some different genres and that's a good thing but it is a such shame that the movies in question are far from being impressive. I mean, it wasn't really bad but it is just a really pedestrian and generic haunted house flick.

House of Wax (2005)

Directed by: Jaume Collet-Serra ('Unknown', 'Orphan')

With: Elisha Cuthbert, Chad Michael Murray, Paris Hilton, Jared Padalecki

Was the original - House of Wax (1953) - worth a look?
I haven't seen this one but since it is starring Vincent Price, of course, it is worth a look.

Was this remake worth a look?
Actually, I thought it wasn't that bad. Let me put it this way... Before watching this, I thought it would be completely terrible but eventually, it was indeed nothing impressive but still rather watchable. Even Paris Hilton didn't bother me too much. Watch it at your own risk though...

Was the original - Honogurai mizu no soko kara (2002) - worth a look?
Since it is directed by Hideo Nakata, the guy who made the amazing 'Ringu', I'm definitely curious about this flick and it must be worth a look.

Was this remake worth a look?
It is probably one of the most disappointing movies I have seen... There is a terrific cast, a very good director and I was expecting at least a decent horror flick. It wasn't really awful but the whole thing was just really slow and honestly rather boring. Not really worth a look, in my opinion.

2001 Maniacs (2006)

Was the original - Two Thousand Maniacs! (1964) - worth a look?
I'm not so sure... Since it is 50 years old, it may have some historical value but a part from that, I don't know...

Will I ever watch this remake?
I have a lot of respect for Robert Englund but this doesn't look really good...

Was the original - The Toolbox Murders (1978) - worth a look?
Honestly, like some other movies here, before making this list, I had never heard of this flick and, honestly, it looks rather trashy (check the poster)... But who knows? Maybe it is a fun watch...

Will I ever watch this remake?
While making this list, I realized that, besides 'The Texas Chainsaw massacre', I have seen only a few movies directed by Tobe Hooper and only for this reason, I would check this movie if I get the opportunity.

The Grudge (2004)

Directed by: Takashi Shimizu ('Ju-on', 'Ju-on 2', 'The Grudge 2')

With: Sarah Michelle Gellar, Clea DuVall, Bill Pullman

Was the original - Ju-on (2002) - worth a look?
I always had a weak spot for Japanese horror movies and I will definitely check this one out when I got the chance.

Was this remake worth a look?
Since it was a success at the box-office and since I heard that this movie was really scary, I was definitely intrigued. However, I thought it was utterly disappointing... Sarah Michelle Gellar is a quite charming but she's not an impressive actress and it was far from being frightening. Just some really average stuff...

Was the original - Dawn of the Dead (1978) - worth a look?
It is a huge classic and arguably the best zombie flick ever made so it is a must see, especially if you are interested in this genre.

Was this remake worth a look?
It is definitely one of the best remakes on this list. There is a good cast, it is visually impressive and the whole thing is really entertaining. On the downside, Znyder has dropped the whole reflection on consumerism which made the original so stricking but still, this is definitely a good example of how to make an interesting remake.

Directed by: Marcus Nispel ('Conan the Barbarian'(2011), 'Friday the 13th'(2009) )

With: Jessica Biel, Eric Balfour, R. Lee Ermey

Was the original - The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) - worth a look?
In my opinion, it is a little bit old now and not really frightening anymore and the ending is a total mess. Still, it remains a classic and a solid horror movie and a definitive milestone for this genre.

Was this remake worth a look?
As you can see on his resumé, Marcus Nispel is some kind of remake 'specialist'. He has already made 3 of those but none of them were well received by the critics and I can't say that for this movie it wasn't deserved. I mean, R. Lee Ermey was actually pretty good, Jessica Biel was quite charming but that's about it.... It is just another lazy cash-in with which they try to surf on the reputation of its predecessor but, at the end of the day, it is basically a boring and uninsteresting slasher flick.

The Ring (2002)

Directed by: Gore Verbinski ('Rango', 'Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End', 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest', 'Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl', 'The Mexican')

With: Naomi Watts, Martin Henderson, Brian Cox, Amber Tamblyn

Was the original - Ringu (1998) - worth a look?
It is definitely one of my favorite horror movies of all time and it is pretty much the flick that brought Japanese horror to the worldwide audience so you should definitely watch it.

Was this remake worth a look?
In my opinion, it is a actually rather overrated. I mean, it is not bad at all, the directing is allright, Naomi Watts delivers a decent performance but compared to the Japanese version, it is actually rather weak. Furthermore, it is because this movie was so succesfull at the box-office that we get all those worthless remakes of Asian horror flicks...

Was the original - 13 Ghosts (1960) - worth a look?
It is yet another (very) old classic but I'm not sure it if it is really any good.

Was this remake worth a look?
In the 90's, they remade for a while some rather old horror flicks but actually none of them was actually successful and they dropped the whole thing after a while. This movie was the last one they made. Well, I have finally watched the damned thing and it was indeed pretty lame. It is basically a B movie with a B cast and it is not really worth a look.

The Haunting (1999)

Directed by: Jan de Bont ('Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life', 'Speed 2: Cruise Control', 'Twister', 'Speed')

With: Liam Neeson, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Owen Wilson, Lili Taylor, Virginia Madsen

Was the original - The Haunting (1963) - worth a look?
I haven't seen it yet but it looks pretty awesome. It is a classic and definitely on my 'To-watch' list.

Was this remake worth a look?
The first time I watched it, I thought it was really dreadful but I watched it again recently and I thought it was actually watchable. There is a nice cast, some cool special effects, it's just too bad that the story was so worthless. For Jan de Bont, it would be one of his last directing features and his career never really recovered from this failure.

Was the original - House on Haunted Hill (1959) - worth a look?
Since it is directed by the legendary William Castle and starring Vincent Price, I would say why not?

Was this remake worth a look?
Oh dear... It was even worse than I thought it would be. It must be one of the weakest haunted house movies I have seen so far... Basically, you wait during the whole thing for something scary to happen but nothing remotely frightening happens during the whole duration. Compare to this, the remake of 'The Haunting' is almost a masterpiece...

With: Vince Vaughn, Julianne Moore, Viggo Mortensen, Anne Heche, William H. Macy, Robert Forster, Philip Baker Hall

Was the original - Psycho (1960) - worth a look?
It is already more than 50 years old but it is still one of the best horror films ever made, forget what I just said, it is still one of the best movies ever made. If you haven't seen it yet, shame on you...

Was this remake worth a look?
This must be one of the most hated remakes ever made and I must be one of the few people on Earth who actually think it is actually worth a look. Of course, Vince Vaughn is no Anthony Perkins but I still think it is an interesting experiment and should be seen as an hommage to Hitchcock's genius. Watch it at your own risk and make up your own opinion.

With: Robert De Niro, Kenneth Branagh, Tom Hulce, Helena Bonham Carter, Aidan Quinn, Ian Holm, John Cleese

Was the original - Frankenstein (1931) - worth a look?
80 years later it is still considered a masterpiece and I definitely have to watch it some day.

Was this remake worth a look?
There was a huge buzz before this movie was released but it didn't turn out to be the masterpiece that so many of us hoped for. However, I did like it, the cast was awesome, the directing was pretty good and it remains a fascinating story. The second half tends to drag down a little but it is definitely worth a look, in my opinion.

With: Meg Tilly, Gabrielle Anwar, R. Lee Ermey, Forest Whitaker

Was the original - Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) - worth a look?
It must have been pretty neat to see this movie in the 50's, when the formula was completely new. Furthermore, I wish they didn't force Don Siegel to add an introduction and this happy-end because the movie, above all with a bleaker ending, would have worked better. Still, it is a really solid horror flick, terribly effective and entertaining.

Was this remake worth a look?
Back in the 90's, I was a huge fan of Abel Ferrara's work and I have watched many of his movies. However, in my opinion, this flick was the worst he has made. I thought it was a boring and uninsteresting horror flick. Maybe I should give it another try since I have seen it more than 15 years ago but I'm not really optimistic...

Back in 2012, they announced that they would remake 'Carrie' starring Chloë Grace Moretz but I'm not so sure if it is something we should be happy about. Indeed, lately, they keep making remakes of Horror movies but the end-results are rather mixed. I wanted to have a closer look on this.

There is indeed an interesting pattern. At the end of the 70's and in the 80's, they started to make some horror remakes but they were always high quality new version, sometimes even better than the originals. Than, in the 90's, they started to make, occasionally, some poor versions of old classics. But then nowadays, they make every year at least 5 remakes of basically anything going from Asian horror to some average and forgotten horror flicks from the 80's.

To help me find back some titles, I used this great list : History of Horror
