I wouldn't call Beyonce a strict pear as she has relatively broad shoulders and a medium bust.
There is however no doubt that she is one curvy and sexy lady!

A little bit of info: CH is not a natural red head. She's being dying her hair since she was 10 years old.

Curvy is a word thrown about loosely these days and has become somewhat of a stigma. Being called curvy is either seen as so flattering that women are quick to associate themselves with the term, or so negative that they end up in tears over it.
Curvy these days is either used to describe any woman that doesn't have a runway physique or a plus size lady, regardless of size. However, curvy is simply a woman with a low waist to hip ratio (0.8 the maximum). It basically applies the mathematical definition and in regards to the body this will include shapely thighs and legs, rounded booty and hips with a shapely upper half.
The hourglass is thus the epitome of curvy as it encompasses all the curves a woman can have. Pear shaped women are also a curvy variety, not because of their booties, but because they also have small waists with hips, though they are not as curvy as hourglasses. There are also women that may not fit the strict definitions of these two body shapes but they are combinations that are curvy as well.
It is nice to be curvy and it is nice to not be curvy also. I think it is impotant for women to understand body types and realise that they are all beautiful in their own way.
