Talent, intelligence, beauty and drive. A childhood sweetheart that never fades.
Beautiful all her life yet never vain. Not obsessed with her appearance she ages gracefully and wears little make-up - she doesn't need any.
Her tough no-nonsense action-girl exterior protects a sensitive, passionate and loving heart.
She's said that she never wanted to be famous - or at least would have liked to know how it felt not to be famous. So she protects her private life fiercely because it's the only thing left that is truly hers.
Wow!

Does what he loves and I love him for what he has given in return. Only this man could stand in a dark Borneo cave knee deep in bat poo and breathing concentrated ammonia fumes and have a genuine smile of delight on his face as thousands of bats squeak and dive all around him.
Exeter's rating:
Intelligent, articulate and heartbreakingly beautiful. Trained as a lawyer but thankfully parlayed her skill into broadcast journalism.
Exeter's rating:
Iconoclastic and humourous, a wit and sharp observer of human contradictions. His debates are legendary as he rode along as one of the Four Horsemen.
Exeter's rating:
Humble, colossally talented, beautiful and articulate - please Nat; speak as Evey again ... always.
Who can forget his famous sign-off:
I would like to thank my parents for making it possible for me to be here this evening ... and my children for making it necessary.
Twoderful man.

See her in Copycat and Home for the Holidays for a measure of how adorable she can be.

Drawing on my fine command of the English language, I said nothing.

Exeter's rating:
From Bennett Holiday in Syriana to Peoples Hernandez in Shaft to ... and on and on. Range and skill in swathes.
Exeter's rating:
Vastly underrated man. Brilliant in his small role as Eduardo Ruiz in Traffic. His casual tone (which belies a slow measured delivery) can make him terrifyingly menacing.
Exeter's rating:
Handsome, charming and a very modest man in real life, David has a huge amount of talent but seems to get too few chances to show it. One such case was as Ed Murrow in Good Night and Good Luck which is packed to the rafters with acting talent, great film.
Exeter's rating:
For his unique accent and gravelly voice that can only be acquired by smoking 80 cigarettes a day for 45 years.
Exeter's rating:
Amazing range. Superb in Hannibal as Mason Verger, Beethoven in Immortal Beloved and as the eponymous tragic hero in Dracula.
Exeter's rating:
Intensity and quiet charm. I don't think he has a lot of acting range but he gets parts that allow him to be himself more or less and that usually works out well.
Exeter's rating:
Alex Langlands knows his stuff and he knows his medium and talks a good game to the camera. He could always turn to theatre if he needed to.
Nonetheless, this credit is for a moment in Wartime Farm when he became (as anyone with a heart would be) visibly choked up reading the following from a wartime manual on the value of making toys for evacuee/any children:
"Some children may have passed through such horrors or be so weakened by illness or malnutrition that they have temporarily lost the creative art of play. A toy which they may carry with them always may do far more than we might imagine to restore the health and confidence and peace of mind to a child."

Indomitable, gamely driven and perpetually cheerful Ruth epitomises the understated but essential role and power of women in the affairs of humanity.
Exeter's rating:
Incredible singing voice. I first heard her on NPR featuring in some songs and skits for a Prairie Home Companion and couldn't get her angelic voice out of my head for days.
Exeter's rating:
Everybody loved Grace. One of the rare examples of a person's character fitting their name.
Should be in Musicians perhaps?
I had the immense privilege of seeing him play live at the Horden Pavilion in Sydney many years ago. It was utterly charming, like sitting in a large parlour with two thousand friends whilst the kindly old guy sat by the fireplace and noodled out some tunes on Lucille. Unforgettable.

Exeter's rating:
An erudite and engaging raconteur and collector of facts. It's a vast distance from one side of his mind to the other.
Exeter's rating:
My teenage years would have been shallower and callower if it weren't for the hilarious and thought-provoking reflections of this man.
A true professional she turned down the glare of the Hollywood lights to continue to scintillate and delight audiences in the theatre. One of the best actresses of the age.

... I managed to get through the mining exams. They're not very rigorous, there's no rigor involved really. Complete lack of rigor involved in the mining exams. They only ask you one question, they say: "Who are you?" and I got 75% on that. -- as E. L. Wisty
