Completely bizarre, but heart-warming and sweet! I love the main characters. Jim Carrey surprised me in this movie! He actually gave one of his greatest performances.

Terminator Salvation (2009)
Watched: June 30
I actually think Terminator Salvation is an improvement from T-3. I like Christian Bale and he was more convincing as John Connor than Nick Stahl. The action sequences are exciting and I was entertained, but the movie has its flaws. The story became rather confusing sometimes and the movie lacks the heart and the originality from T-1 and T-2.

Total Recall (2012)
Watched: June 29
I haven't seen the original movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger, but I ended up watching this remake. It does have some impressive action sequences, but I thought almost everything else was pretty flat. The plot just jumped from one action scene to another. It ended up becoming too heavy. I must watch the original one...

Shame (2011)
Watched: June 29
This is a depressing movie. It was an awful movie experience. Michael Fassbender's performance is terrific and so devastating! I don't understand why he didn't get an Oscar nomination. Michael Fassbender is providing so much raw emotion, and his expressions make you understand how miserable, damaged and ashamed his character really is. Brandon's addiction is intense and it has put a deep mark on him. The explicit scenes are so painful and sad to watch. Carey Mulligan also delivers a brilliant performance. The cinematography is so cold and dark. Shame is bleak, thoughtful and emotionally strong. I'm speechless...

This movie was so disappointing to me. It's the weakest movie in the franchise. I was so satisfyed with the ending in T-2. They could've stopped there, but they had to continue with the franchise. I can't deny that the special effects have been improved, but the movie suffers from so many things. The villain was so weak. It was supposed to be so much stronger and dangerous, but she wasn't that much of a threat, if you ask me. I didn't like the way Sarah Connor was left out. Nick Stahl didn't bring anything as John Connor, and the "relationship" between him and Kate Brewster was waste of time. Also, the ending of the movie made me feel so irritated. T-3 doesn't live up to its great predecessors.
SML96's rating:
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
Watched: June 28
T-2 is a terrific sequel. I thought it was funny to see The Terminator helping the good ones, but he was still freaking badass! It was also great that Sarah Connor had become such a fighter. The sequel has great action scenes, a good villain and an engaging plot. The ending was so brilliant!
SML96's rating:
The Terminator (1984)
Watched: June 28
I had never watch this franchise before, so I thought it was about time. Arnold Schwarzengger is so badass as The Terminator! What a great bad guy! He was almost scary. The Terminator is a thrilling action/sci-fi movie. It has some amazing action set-pieces and the story is very interesting.
SML96's rating:
Wide Awake (1998) (1964)
Watched: June 27
I think that Joshua Beal is a sweet character, but I don't get connected to the story. I don't find it believable. There are some nice moments, but Wide Awake turns out to be a mediocre family movie. It's nothing special.

This might be my favorite movie in the genre, but it's so different from other high school movies. I get so emtional connected to the characters, their stories and their relations to each other. The young trio is absolutely fantastic! Their characters are so memorable and I feel that I can relate myself to them. The Perks of Being a Wallflower is truly beautiful, emotional and unforgettable! It's a movie that will always stick close to my heart and make me cry. Also, the music is fantastic!

I remember I used to enjoy watching The Simpsons a few years ago. Me and a friend of mine decided suddenly that we were going to watch this movie. It's not as amazing as the show, but it's very laughable!

Beautiful Creatures (2013)
Watched: June 26
Beautiful Creatures is compared to The Twilight Saga, and it does appeal to the same group of people. However, I think the movie was overall okay, and somehow a pleasant surprise. I liked Alden Ehrenreich as Ethan Wate. There is a good connection between the two leads, but the weak spot is the story. It also have a rather disappointing ending, but I'm actually interested to see what will happen next.

Moonrise Kingdom is pure movie magic! This was one of the most wonderful movie experiences I've had in my life. The movie is about young love, dreams and the need to escape. It's truly enchanting. I was mesmerized. The young leads are incredibly loveable and the rest of the cast is also terrific. Moonrise Kingdom feels like a dream. It's so beautiful, rare and unique!
SML96's rating:
Wreck-It Ralph (2012)
Watched: June 25
I was surprised that Wreck-It Ralph is a Disney Classic. I actually thought it was from Disney Pixar. Anyway, it's a delightful movie with lovely animation and funny references. The characters are cute and the story is clever and joyful.
SML96's rating:
Superman Returns (2006)
Watched: June 24
Overall, the acting is decent. I personally preferred Christopher Reeve as Superman instead of Brandon Routh. I liked Kevin Spacey (Lex Luthor), but I wished that Kate Bosworth (Lois Lane) was replaced (NOT with Margot Kidder!!). Superman Returns is a simple action movie and you'll probably enjoy most of it. I was entertained, but I wasn't thrilled.
SML96's rating:

Superman IV has one of the dullest villains I've ever seen. Lex Luthor is a stupid villain, but Nuclear Man is even worse. Also, in this movie, Margot Kidder is back as Lois Lane. Duh. I really don't like her. As for the rest, the plot is boring and pointless and Superman couldn't rescue this movie from being a disaster this time either.
SML96's rating:
Superman III (1983)
Watched: June 23
Superman III is a really bad movie. I was glad that Margot Kidder (Lois Lane) only appeared for a couple of minutes, but the movie suffers from a thin plot and annoying characters (especially Richard Pryor as Gus Gorman). Superman couldn't save this movie. I don't think that he even got enough screen time.
SML96's rating:
Superman II (1980)
Watched: June 23
The sequel is more enjoyable and funnier than the predecessor. I like the bad guys in the movie, they are amusing. Christopher Reeve is still charismatic and geeky. I wish that Margot Kidder (Lois Lane) was less on the screen. Sorry, I dislike her.
SML96's rating:
Superman (1978)
Watched: June 23
I haven't been a fan of Superman, but after watching Man of Steel I had to watch the older movies. I think Christopher Reeve delivers a great performance as Clark Kent/Superman. He's very charismatic. Margot Kidder (Lois Lane) destroys the movie to me. I don't understand why Superman would fall for her. Margot Kidder is not charming at all. I like Amy Adams as Lois Lane a lot more. Lex Luthor is a ridiculous villain, but he's amusing.
Overall, the movie has entertainment value and it's funny. The special effects are cute, considered that the movie is over 30 years old. I personally think that the movie could be shorter.
SML96's rating:
Frankenweenie (2012)
Watched: June 23
I love Tim Burton, but I was very disappointed with Dark Shadows. When I heard that he was going to release Frankenweenie last year, I had high hopes.
Frankenweenie is an adorable, sweet and engaging movie about the love between a young boy and his pet. The animation is incredibly beautiful, the characters are weird and charming, and the story is macabre, yet heart-warming!
SML96's rating:
Jack Reacher (2012)

Jack Reacher is an above-average action/thriller movie. What struggles me is the story. It wasn't really that interesting.

I took the liberty to watch this movie two times at the cinema. I like superhero movies, but I have never been a fan of Superman.
However, I liked this movie. The visuals look remarkable and there's lots of action, but I did expect that since Zack Snyder is the director. This movie is darker than the previous Superman movies, but I didn't mind the lack of humor. Henry Cavill did a good performance. He made the character look more vulnerable and realistic (that might be wrong since Superman is supposed to be invulnerable, but I did like it). I also liked the rest of the cast.
The soundtrack is brilliant. Again, Hans Zimmer creates so much emotions through beautiful music!
The movie has its flaws. Sometimes I felt it was rushed and the change in time was not always suitable. Also, the action gets a bit overwhelming towards the ending.
I think overall that Man of Steel is a great action movie. It's actually the best Superman movie, and I'm looking forward to see the sequels!

Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead (2009)

This is a really bad movie. In fact, it was pretty boring and not scary at all. I thought the characters and the conflicts between them were annoying to watch. The movie lacks gore and entertainment value.

Music and Lyrics (2007)
Watched: June 15
I enjoyed watching romantic comedies before, but now I've actually lost the interest. Most of them are predictable and full of clichรฉs. Music and Lyrics is a mediocre movie, but it was fun to watch. The singing was amusing and the chemistry between the main actors worked, but the story was rather silly and predictable.

This is a simple, fast-paced and enjoyable movie from Disney. It's not as ambitious as the old Disney classics, but it's a funny and wonderful movie for the entire family!

Watchmen (2009)
Watched: June 13
Honestly, I have to watch this movie again before I can tell what I think about it. It's a good movie, indeed, but it's complex. I also fell asleep during the movie. I wasn't because I was bored, but I was really tired that day.

Star Trek Into Darkness (2013)
Watched: June 10
My friend and I went to the cinema and watched this movie. Woah! It feels so good when you watch a really good sci-fi movie! The movie is amazing! The action is thrilling, the sound effects are splendid and the scenes in space look absolutely outstanding! Benedict Cumberbatch did a fantastic performance as the villain! He was so great! He's such a talented actor! My friend and I lost our breath when we watched him. My only complanit about the movie is the performance from Peter Weller. He didn't do a good job.

This is the weakest movie in the PotC series, in my opinion, but it's not bad! It's not as great executed as the previous movies, but I'm entertained. There are some exciting moments in the movie. The chasing scene in London is brilliant! I also like the cast. Ian McShane is cool as Blackbeard. He's just evil. Jack Sparrow is still my (our) favorite pirate. Also, the visuals look impressive. The plot is not really engaging to me.

There are some thrilling action set-pieces in this movie. The Maelstrom battle scene is amazing! There are some struggling plot threads, but overall, At World's End is a good and satisfying ending of Gore Verbinski's trilogy.

Davy Jones is a great villain! He's so cruel, but he also got a tragic story. Bill Nighy delivers a fantasic performance. The rest of the cast is overall good. I liked Naomie Harris as Tia Dalma. She's an interesting character.
The movie doesn't have the same originality and quality as its predecessor. Most of the humor is silly, but Dead Man's Chest is still a solid sequel. I enjoy most of the movie and I can't deny that it looks amazing. Also, the music is absolutely thrilling. There is one scene with the Kraken that looks and sounds incredible.

This is one of my favorite Disney movies! I always feel like a child when I watch this movie. It's entertaining, funny and a pure delight to watch. There are so many brilliant moments in this movie, such as the opening scene with Jack Sparrow, the sword fight between Jack and Will and the underwater march. Jack Sparrow is an amazing character. Johnny Depp has some brilliant characterizations and he's the main reason why I love the PotC movies so much! The movies would never be the same without Jack Sparrow. I also love the villain! Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa is incredibly cool.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005)
Watched: June 4
I have for a long time wanted to see this movie, and finally I bought it. I enjoyed it. It's fresh, quirky and a lot of fun! It was amusing to put those three characters together. They were all different, but somehow, they had some similarities. I liked the cast. Robert Downey Jr is a terrific actor! He gave a fantastic performance as Harry. I thought it was funny to use him as the narrator in the movie.

Moulin Rouge! (2001)
Watched: June 1
I usually don't watch movies that are being shown on the television, but I couldn't resist watching this one. I love musicals. I remember the first time I watched Moulin Rouge. I was completely mesmerized and shocked when I heard Ewan McGregor sing. Holy sh!t, that man can sing! I love this movie. It's a true delight to watch it! The music is brilliant and the story is beautiful, yet sad.

Star Trek (2009)
Watched: June 1
I'm not a Trekkie. Honestly, I almost knew nothing about Star Trek, but I decided that I had to check this movie out. I found myself surprised. The movie was well-made and it was thrilling to watch, or as Spock would say it; fascinating. Chris Pine brought charisma and humor to his character. Zachary Quinto also gave a good performance as Spock. (Am I the only one who think that the haircut to Spock and the rest of his race is funny?) The only disappointing thing with this movie is the dull villain. Anyway, Star Trek is absolutely a solid action/sci-fi movie, and I'm looking forward to see the sequel.
