Dredd (2012)

I found this movie surprisingly entertaining. I liked the setting and the story was interesting. Karl Urban was really cool as Dredd and I also thought it was great to see Lena Headey as Ma-Ma. If you are looking for a solid action movie, I recommend you to watch this movie.

Iron Man 3 (2013)

I love superheroes and Iron Man is my favorite Marvel superhero. This movie is amazing. It's feels very different from the previous movies, but it doesn't lack action and entertainment value. Robert Downey Jr. still proves to be a fantastic actor with his charm and sarcasm. In this movie, you'll see a new side of Tony Stark/Iron Man. I thought it was great to see his personal struggles.

The Silence of the Lambs (1991)

Woah! Absolutely thrilling and ghastly! Anthony Hopkins is brilliant as Hannibal Lecter. One of the greatest performances I've ever seen! This movie gave me chills.

300 (2007)

The movie looks epic and the visuals are impressive, but I personally think that it looks a bit unrealistic. The "sunlight" that glows in almost every scene is annoying. Another weak spot is the story. I have not read the comic, but I wish that the movie could have told us more about Xerxes and the Persians. However, the movie is entertaining and "pretty badass".
SML96's rating:

Troy (2004)

Troy is not historical correct, but it is thrilling. However, I do not think that the actors manage to create memorable characters. Troy tries to be as epic as Gladiator, but it ends up to be nothing more than just a movie that is above mediocre.
SML96's rating:

The Bucket List (2008)

The Bucket List is a heartwarming and amusing movie with two great performances from Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. However, I got kind of sad when I watched this movie. I don't think it's realistic that two patients who has cancer can travel around the world and do things like skydiving and sitting on the top of a pyramid. Is it really possible?
SML96's rating:

Taken 2 (2012)

I like Liam Neeson. He's a badass. I think that Taken is exciting, but the sequel isn't particularly good. The movie suffers from a thin plot and bad script, but it doesn't mean that it lacks entertainment value. Taken 2 works as a mediocre action movie.
SML96's rating:

Ice Age: Continental Drift (2012)

Ice Age 4 is predictable and full of clichés. We have for example seen the struggles between a father and his teenage daughter several times before. Manny has just become an annoying character, I miss the old Manny from the first movie. Even Sid is not as funny as he was before. If they decide to make another movie, I think that I get sick. It's enough now.
SML96's rating:

A Royal Affair (2012)

A Royal Affair is a great costume drama. I had never heard of this story before, so I thought it was thrilling to watch it. This isn't just an ordinary romantic drama, but we get an insight of the political ideas and ambitions during The Age of Enlightenment in Denmark.
SML96's rating:

The Merchant of Venice (2004)

I think the story is interesting and the cast is good, but the movie doesn't really fascinate me. However, it's still worth watching. Al Pacino is great as Shylock. I definitely felt sorry for the character.
SML96's rating:

Pulp Fiction (1994)

Pulp Fiction is a great movie with solid performances, memorable dialogues and dark humor. There are several amazing moments in this movie, like the dancing at Jack Rabbit Slim's with John Travolta and Uma Thurman and when Samuel L. Jackson refers to Ezekiel 25:17.
SML96's rating:

Knocked Up (2007)

I thought that the movie was pretty entertaining, but while I was watching it, I started to wonder: How funny is it actually to watch couples arguing? In this movie, you'll be watching not only one couple, but two couples having arguments (and happy moments) during two hours of screen time.
SML96's rating:

Zombieland (2009)

I haven't seen a lot of zombie movies. To be honest, I didn't have much expectations to this movie, but I did actually find it amusing and enthusiastic. I believe that this movie tries to bring more than just gore and witty lines. Jesse Eisenberg fits perfect as the nerdy boy who is afriad of everything, and Woody Harrelson is very funny!
SML96's rating:

Jack The Giant Slayer (2013)

This is a mediocre movie. It contains some good performances and funny moments, but I didn't actually find much interest of the story or the characters. I also think that they could have removed the last minutes of the movie. Those minutes were just pointless in my opinion.
SML96's rating:

Jurassic Park (1993)

I didn't watch this movie when I was a child. If I had watched it then, I think that my point of view had been quite different. However, I enjoyed this movie. It's entertaining and the special effects are impressive, considered that this movie came to the cinemas twenty years ago. The soundtrack is also great! It will be interesting to rewatch this movie in 3D.
SML96's rating:

I have never been a fan of The Twilight Saga, and the last movie didn't change my mind. The actors are stiff and I don't get any sympathy for the characters. The special effects are awful! They even chose to use CGI on the baby, which looks terribly fake... The dialogue is also pretty stupid.
- "You nicknamed our daughter after the Loch Ness Monster?!"
After watching the finale, I'm sure that I will not watch the entire saga again for a long time.
SML96's rating:

Seven (1995)

Thrilling, intense and nasty! Intelligent story with a clever script and an exciting finale. Although you never get to see the murderous acts themselves, you get affected by watching the victims and realizing the brutality, coldness and sickness behind these murders. Great performances from Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt, and of course Kevin Spacey!
SML96's rating:

Brokeback Mountain (2005)

This movie is sad and emotional, I began to cry. Wonderful performances from Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal. I think the two characters are interesting to watch seperately and together. They are so different, but their chemistry and their love for each other is strong and intense. But there were some acspects in the story that I didn't like and sometimes I felt that the movie went pretty slow. Am I the only one who also thought that the movie was a bit predictable? I knew how the movie was going to end far too early.

A Journey to Middle-earth
This weekend (week 15) I decided that I had to watch The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey again. I used the entire Saturday (April 13) to watch all the movies. I do not regret it at all. It is one of the greatest things I have done this year so far! When I had finished watching all the movies, I actually wanted to start all over again. I cried and I got chills several times.
The LOTR trilogy is epic. The story is amazing. There is never a moment when I feel bored! The script is also great and it contains the words of wisdom from J.R.R. Tolkien's books. I love the characters and the cast is brilliant. The shootings of the landscapes and the other scenes are absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. The music is wonderful and it brings so much emotions. I truly love the movies and they will always have a place in my heart!
When I first heard that Peter Jackson was going to make a trilogy of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit, I was very thrilled. When I saw it for the first time at the cinema, I remember that I felt an indescribable joy. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is a complete different adventure than The LOTR trilogy, but it does have the same magic and brilliance. Martin Freeman is the perfect Bilbo Baggins. He has a lot of charisma. It was also great to see some of the characters from The LOTR trilogy in this movie, especially Gandalf and Gollum. I am really looking forward to see the next movies in the trilogy.

This month I've decided that I'm not going to rewatch any movies, except for The Hobbit and the LOTR trilogy since The Hobbit is released on 8th April here in Norway.
