Favorite Pictures from Lists I Have Submitted

This picture is a favorite of mine because it is a rare shot of Hendrix playing bass guitar. He is jamming with Johnny Winter on guitar and that is Buddy Miles on the drums.

I like this picture because it is so Jack Nicholson. It is from the Biker Exploitation Movie, 'Rebel Rouser'. Everything about it is so over-the-top for the time period, From the Trumpet-shaped, Dove-tail exhaust pipes to Jack's horizontal stiped pants.

Johnny looks so suave and sophiscated with the cigarette and the tuxedo. He looks like he should be in a James Bond movie sitting at a roullette wheel in a casino and introducing himself as "Cash...Johnny Cash".


Here is the famous shot of Cash giving the finger. He rented an entire page of a trade paper and had this posted as an expression of his feelings toward Nashville after they deserted him and he achieved commercial and critical success independently with the success of the American Recordings.

The origin of the picture goes back further than that, though. It was taken while the band was rehearsing the night before his famous prison show at San Quentin in 1969. The photographer was snapping pictures and said,"Now let's have one for the Warden". This was John's immediate reaction. Notice he is wearing the prison cover-alls in the shot.

I love this picture of Boris Karloff sitting and having his tea and toast like a perfect English gentleman while wearing his Frankenstein's Monster makeup.

This was taken from the photo shoot that yeilded the cover of Dylan's second album. You will notice it must have been taken a few minutes before the one that they used for the cover, because the VW microbus is approaching in the background. On the album the Volkswagen is already parked in front of the big truck on the left.

I found this shot interesting because it shows The Beatles (Lennnon, Harrison, and Starr, at least) as fans in the audience rather than entertainers onstage. Each is seated in a seperate row with friends and family.

This picure of a young Elvis being inducted into the army in his 'tighty whities' is the only picture I have ever seen of him in his underwear.

I like this picture because it appears to be a candid behind-the-scenes shot that demonsrtated Belushi's true feelings toward castmate Chevy Chase. The rumor is he was not alone in his opinion of Chase.

I liked this because it shows just how much Warren Oates looked like the real Dillinger in his role in the movie. He sure looked a lot more like him than Johnny Depp did in 'Public Enemies'.

I like this picture because it is a rare shot from the first season that featured Fonzie riding a black Harley Davidson Knucklehead (a much cooler motorcycle) and wearing a lightwieght windbreaker (a much less cooler jacket).

This is the iconic image of Wayne standing alone, framed by the cabin door that swings shut as he walks off at the end of 'The Searchers'. I just like the picture because it is such a powerful closing scene of a great western.
