List Type:
186FleetStreet's rating:
Daryl Sabara as Ned Nickerson, Nancy's boyfriend.
In the game series, he's a phone-a-friend character, but maybe the phone calls with him could be done as a split screen thing like they used to do on "Lizzie McGuire."
186FleetStreet's rating:
Una Stubbs as Hannah Gruen, Nancy's housekeeper. In the game, she's only heard as an answering machine message for Nancy's home phone.
Ditto the split screen conversations, for when Nancy calls home.
186FleetStreet's rating:
Bridgit Mendler as Bess Marvin, one of Nancy's best friends, and George's cousin. In the game, she's only referenced in a written email.
Have her narrate the emails/have little videos of the action in the emails as she narrates.
186FleetStreet's rating:
Chloe Moretz as George Fayne, one of Nancy's best friends. In the game, she's only referenced in a written email.
Ditto the email narration.
186FleetStreet's rating:
Skandar Keynes as Frank Hardy, famous teen detective, Joe's older brother, and one of Nancy's friends.
Ditto the email narration.
186FleetStreet's rating:
Asa Butterfield as Joe Hardy, famous teen detective, Frank's younger brother, and one of Nancy's friends. He's a goofball.
He'd probably have to dye his hair blond. Ditto the email narration.
186FleetStreet's rating:
Raji James as Nigel Mookerjee, a man writing a biographical-type book on the Penvellyn family.
He spends most of the day in the library to do research. Mrs. Drake let him, because not having a book about the family is a cause of social disgrace for her. It turns out, his book was going to be a scandalous tell-all of the biggest family secrets.
186FleetStreet's rating:
Miranda Otto as Ethel Bosinny, Jane's tutor.
She pops up at the oddest (and creepiest) times, and seems to know way too much about the family history. It turns out, she's been training Jane to help protect the family treasure, a supposed philosopher's/sorcerer's stone that looks more like a space rock.
186FleetStreet's rating:
186FleetStreet's rating:
Maggie Smith as Mrs. Leticia Drake, Hugh Penvellyn's aunt.
She's taking care of Blackmoor Manor while Hugh is traveling and Linda is sick. She's very old-fashioned. She spends most of her time in the conservatory with her plants. It turns out, she'll inherit Hugh's portion of the manor if Linda doesn't stay there for at least six months, according to her late brother Alan's will.
186FleetStreet's rating:
Liv Tyler as Linda Penvellyn, Nancy's former neighbor.
She recently married Hugh Penvellyn, and got sick shortly after moving in to the manor. She hides behind the curtains on her bed all the time, and the only times she's seen are in pictures, except for that one time Nancy sees her hairy hand through a peephole. She thinks she got cursed after seeing an old inscription in a secret passage she found while exploring the manor.
186FleetStreet's rating:
G. Hannelius as Jane Penvellyn, Hugh's daughter and Linda's stepdaughter.
She's a lonely child who loves games and the supernatural. She has a crush on Brady Armstrong. She'd love to be a video game designer when she grows up. It turns out, she's the one who's been making Linda sick and think she's cursed, since she misses her birth mom.
186FleetStreet's rating:
Cate Blanchett as Renee Penvellyn, Hugh's first wife and Jane's birth mother. She's an opera singer who's currently in Rome.
Cameo appearance in a photo.
186FleetStreet's rating:
Marton Csokas as Hugh Penvellyn, Linda's husband and Jane's dad. He's a British ambassador who's currently in Rome. The fact that he and Renee are in the city at the same time is a coincidence.
Ditto the split screen phone conversations.
186FleetStreet's rating:
Michael Caine as Alan Penvellyn, Hugh's late father. His voice can be heard on his old computer in the library.
Voice-over cameo.
186FleetStreet's rating:
Helena Bonham Carter as the voice of Loulou the Parrot. She's been the Penvellyn family pet for decades, so she's picked up on a few family secrets.
Voice-over role.
186FleetStreet's rating:
Lee Garlington as Mrs. Petrov, Nancy's neighbor and Linda's mother. She had Nancy go to Blackmoor Manor because she's worried about Linda's health.
Ditto the split screen conversations.
186FleetStreet's rating:
Toby Regbo as Tommy Tucker, a Cockney man who works at a local pub.
Ditto the split screen conversations.
186FleetStreet's rating:
Kim Rhodes as Dr. Paliki Vadas, an expert on lycanthropy. Nancy calls her with questions after finding an essay she wrote in one of Jane's books.
Ditto the split screen conversations.
186FleetStreet's rating:
Larry Miller as Shorty Thurmond, heard yodeling on Nancy's room phone with the in-game Easter egg.
Voice-over cameo.
186FleetStreet's rating:
Matthew McConaughey as the 1930's Radio Announcer. He narrates the preview for "Secret of the Old Clock" at the end of the game.
Voice-over cameo.
186FleetStreet's rating:
Philip Davis as the cabbie that drops Nancy off at Blackmoor Manor in the beginning. (Yes, this is a "Sherlock" reference.)
Voice-over cameo.
186FleetStreet's rating:
If only they made a movie of this game...
