Keira Knightley as Victoria, a woman who's looking for her missing younger sister.

Bonnie Wright as Emily, Victoria's younger sister. She disappeared on Usami Island, where the boarding school/girls' orphanage that the sisters grew up at was.

Timothy Spall as Captain Russell, the sailor who took Victoria (and Emily) to the island. He was the one of the last known people to see Emily before she disappeared.

Sacha Baron Cohen as Boilerplate, a Steampunk-like robot that's a servant on Usami Island. He used to know Victoria and Emily when they went to the school there.

Voice-over role, most likely.

Rachel Hurd-Wood as Lily Bosworth, the daughter of the doctor and school headmistress on the island. Apparently, she kidnapped Emily because she was jealous of Victoria and Emily for getting off the island during the plague, when she couldn't.

Brendan Coyle as Dr. Bosworth, Lily's dad. He tried to stop the plague on the island, but couldn't save everyone.

He'd be seen in movie-exclusive flashbacks, hopefully clarifying the ending more.

Siobhan Finneran as Mrs. Bosworth, the headmistress of the school. She locked her daughter away at some point, I believe because Lily was disabled, and she was ashamed of it.
