In the game series, she's a phone-a-friend character, but maybe the phone calls with her could be done as a split screen thing like they used to do on "Lizzie McGuire."

Chloe Moretz as George Fayne, one of Nancy's best friends. This time, she's staying over with Bess.

Skandar Keynes as Frank Hardy, famous teen detective, Joe's older brother, and one of Nancy's friends.

Asa Butterfield as Joe Hardy, famous teen detective, Frank's younger brother, and one of Nancy's friends. He's a goofball.

Clancy Brown as Red Knott, a bird watcher who comes to Moon Lake on a seasonal basis.



His base camp is near the cabin that Nancy's supposed to be staying in with Sally. He thinks that the park would be much better if so many tourists wouldn't visit and scare away the birds.

Lauren Holly as Emily Griffen, the owner of the local convenience store.



She's gotten into legal trouble for dragging nets through the lake in front of Sally's cabin in search for things accidentally dropped in the lake in the 1920s during police raids on the house. It turns out, she's the one who's been using the ghost dog legend to scare people away from the cabin while she looks for the gold that gangster Mickey Malone left there after a heist in the 1920s.

Donald Faison as Jeff Akers, the park ranger at Moon Lake.



He's the opposite of Red in a way: He'd love for Moon Lake to become a bigger park with more tourists, so he could get an assistant. He loves enforcing the rules. It turns out, his grandfather was the right hand man of Mickey Malone, which caused him and his family a lot of shame.

Mila Kunis as Sally McDonald, a famous photographer friend of Nancy's dad, who currently owns the cabin that was built by gangster Mickey Malone. She called Nancy out to investigate the ghost dogs. She'd left before Nancy could get there, since she was too afraid.

Angela Lansbury as Vivian Whitmore, the former girlfriend of Mickey Malone. She knows the ins and outs of what life was like when the gangster lived at the lake.

Julie Andrews as Eustacia Andropov, returning from "The Final Scene." It turns out, she's friends with Vivian and just happened to drop by her friend's house at the same time that Nancy needed to call her.

Jackie Earle Haley as Mickey Malone, a gangster and the original owner of the cabin. In the game, he's only seen in photos. His dogs are supposed to haunt the property.

If it were turned into a movie, he'd still be in the photos, and in flashbacks of some of the instances that the other characters mentioned.
