"Re-watch - Oct. 5th After dinner we returned to the couch for The Book of Life, which I watched not too long ago so I won't dwell on it again. She had forgotten most of it, but really enjoyed it and kept randomly saying "Joaquin!" the day after."
“I already saw this movie but since it was available on Disney+, I thought I might as well check it out again. Since I kept hearing some really good things about this movie, I had some fairly high expectations. To be honest, it is rather unfair to judge this movie after watching 'Coco', another great Pixar production, when this movie was actually released 3 years before. Well, even though I really preferred 'Coco', I still enjoyed this other animated feature dealing with 'Dia de Muertos'. First of all, Jorge R. Gutiérrez came up with a really original animation style and the whole thing looked very nice. As I was watching this flick, I was wondering if it was based on an actual Mexican tale but it was in fact an original idea filled with some Mexican traditions. Fortunately, it worked well” read more

" Directed by: Jorge R. Gutierrez Produced by: Aaron Berger, Brad Booker, Guillermo del Toro, and Carina Schulze Written by: Jorge R. Gutierrez and Doug Langdale Edited by: Ahren Shaw Music by: Gustavo Santaolalla Distributed by: 20th Century Fox"

"Película americana hecha en colaboración de mexicanos."

"Esta tambien es creada por un mexicano y nadie le hizo caso y los diseños parece que fueran marionetas, mas en las manos."

"Another big surprise. Right from the opening scenes, it was so emotionally poignant that I was won over instantly. The story is as basic a fairytale as you can get, which just makes it all the more engaging: sometimes simplicity goes a long way. But aside from that, I simply adore the art design and the animation; I can't think of any other movie that looks like this. I said before that I hardly rated any movies five stars this year, but this is one that I strongly suspect will earn that coveted"

" First Viewing Viewing Date: April 10th Via: iTunes Plot: Manolo, a young man who is torn between fulfilling the expectations of his family and following his heart, embarks on an adventure that spans three fantastic worlds where he must face his greatest fears. Rating: 6.0/10"

"Re-watch - March 15th I've been wanting to revisit this since I first saw a trailer for Coco last year, but the kiddo was never in the mood for it so I decided to just watch it on my own. I still give it credit for being the first animated film I saw to tackle Dia de los Muertos, but compared to Coco it's not as great as I'd originally thought. I still really enjoy the film overall, but this time around the lack of original songs in favor of more recognizable hits struck me as lazy. Even worse "
