A good movie

Posted : 5 years, 3 months ago on 26 January 2019 07:45

I already saw this movie but since it was available on Disney+, I thought I might as well check it out again. The first time around, since I kept hearing some really good things about this movie, I had some fairly high expectations. To be honest, it is rather unfair to judge this movie after watching 'Coco', another great Pixar production, when this movie was actually released 3 years before. Well, even though I really preferred 'Coco', I still enjoyed this other animated feature dealing with 'Dia de Muertos'. First of all, Jorge R. Gutiérrez came up with a really original animation style and the whole thing looked very nice. As I was watching this flick, I was wondering if it was based on an actual Mexican tale but it was in fact an original idea filled with some Mexican traditions. Fortunately, it worked well enough and it turned out to be fairly entertaining. Eventually, the only thing that bothered me was the rather weak intro in the museum. Indeed, in my opinion, it was a rather convoluted way to start up this story, it didn't have much added value and I wish they found another way to introduce this fascinating world to the audience. Fortunately, it wasn't a deal breaker and the rest of the movie was pretty neat. Anyway, to conclude, even if it was nothing really groundbreaking, it turned out to be an original animated feature and it is definitely worth a look, especially if you like the genre.

Lo más gracioso es que cada vez encuentro más la cinta mucho más corta de lo que originalmente es. Pero es una decente cinta animada que técnicamente es muy impecable y argumentalmente es lineal pero disfrutable. Pero el final deja que desear.
