A good movie

By now, I have seen almost all the movies directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and even though most of them were rather entertaining, to be honest, none of them actually managed to really impress me. This movie was however an exception. Indeed, I kept hearing some interesting things about it so I was quite eager to check it out and, eventually, I thought it was actually pretty good. First of all, the pr... read more

Good, but somewhat disturbing

This is like a sci-fi horror film that has some pretty interesting things behind it. It is a well put together film with lots to think about when the movie ends. It has some disturbing images, but after getting past those it is a pretty good movie. It has somewhat of a shpere feel for those who have seen that. There is something about going to hell and back on an experiemental spaceship that gets ... read more

I expected this to be a be a bland 80's horror flick. This expectation may contribute to my high rating, but I suspect that rewatching this film won't change my opinion of it much.

The cinematography, visual language, and set design were phenomenal. The corridors, in particular, were well designed set pieces that created a sense of claustrophobia.

"Reason for the future sucking: A spaceship has discovered, a black hole which unfortunately is also a portal, into a hellish dimension. Oops. Year it takes place: 2047 "

Pop Culture Phenomenon Films: 90’s (1884 movies items)

" Critics hated it, audiences barely watched the film, but time vindicated Event Horizon, and many have discovered just how freaky the film truly is. The audiences that did see it, walked out because it was “too disgusting, too ugly, too violent, and too nihilistic”. Let’s put it this way, it’s a film that is not for everyone, and is very aware of it. Paul W.S. Anderson, may not be everyone’s favourite director, with some calling him a hack director, but others think this is one of "

" Date: 2/19/2022 Viewed: Blu-ray (Scream Factory) Re-Watch Note: I received a $50 Target gift card for Valentine's Day from my family which I used to purchase some of the store's Blu-rays. I noticed they had a good deal on the Scream Factory Blu-ray of Event Horizon, so I had to get it right away. Over the years, I've grown to appreciate Event Horizon. I used to think it was overrated when I was a kid and a teenager. After several viewings as I grew older, I began to appreciate it. Even though"

Terror Blurbs! Pt. 1 (An Ever-Expanding List) (100 movies items)

"Plot: The Event Horizon, a ship that could traverse space in a moment, returns after having vanished for years...and it carries with it an unearthly secret. Throw in a dash of "Alien", a spritz of "The Shining", and a healthy dose of "Hellraiser" and you might end up with "Event Horizon", a film that manages to carve a place for itself despite how clearly it flaunts its influences. Packing an unsettling visual punch, an ominous atmosphere, and a decent cast, Event Horizon largely succeeds at ev"

"19.2. Kun kerran Dead Calmissa nähtiin Sam Neilliä tutkimassa hylättyä alusta, jonka matkustajat ovat kuolleet, niin minut valtasi halu katsoa Event Horizon uudestaan. Miekkonen lähtee siis taas kerran tutkimaan jostain putkahtanutta tutkimusalusta ja selvittämään siihen liittyvää mysteeriä. En ole sisustusammattilainen, mutta en välttämättä käyttäisi gigeriläistä lähestymistapaa vuosia kestäviä avaruusmatkoja varten suunniteltujen alusten kalustamisessa. Avaruusaluksen "
