A strong and moving performance by Rebecca "hotter than hell" Hall saves this run-of-the-mill ghost story from sucking. Seriously if it wasn't for Hall this would be a one-star film. It's just way too familiar to several other and much better ghost stories.

A funny, poignant and well-acted film that I wanted to like more but sadly it moves at a snails pace. I almost dozed off several times it moves that slow. Luckily they cast some solid actors particularly Billy Campbell who I feel is a very underrated actor.

Here's another film I liked but once again the pace is just way too slow. The thing I loved about the film though are the two leading ladies. Kay Panabaker and Juno Temple are terrific and I hope they both have bright futures in Hollywood. I just wish they would've had a better scripted movie to star in, anyways I'll be keeping an eye out for anything else they do from here on out.

A decent ghost story with a very good performance from Calista Flockhart. Also it's more of a supernatural thriller than a horror film, I would've preferred a few more scares.

Lincoln (2012)
Watched on: 4/7/13

This is a film I respect but didn't really enjoy all that much. There's no question Lincoln is a powerful piece of cinema, it also happens to be incredibly dull. Still I would consider this a must-see for one massive reason, the brilliance of Daniel Day-Lewis. He makes the entire film worth sitting through and definitely deserved that Oscar for Best Actor. All that being said I can't imagine I'd ever be willing to sit through this film ever again.

This is a well made and very well acted film. My problem is that I simply didn't like any of the characters. I could care less if they lived or died and I just couldn't get into the film because of that.

Evil Dead (2013)
Watched on: 4/9/13

First things first, I recommend eating before seeing this film because after viewing it you may not want to eat the rest of the day. The new Evil Dead is absolutely brutal, the amount of blood and gore is through the roof. Quite a bit darker and much meaner than the original. Sadly it lacks the black humor and charm of the original.

I wish I had went in with lower expectations, all the media hype and several of my buddies made it out to be the greatest thing since sliced bread. Don't get me wrong I really enjoyed it and had a lot of fun watching it. It's a very good horror film just not great. So lower your expectations a bit and have a bloody good time.

I loved this film, it's an absolute masterpiece! Hands down the best movie so far in 2013, I already got a spot reserved for this one in the top 10 for the best movies of 2013. If this film is playing anywhere near you go see it as soon as you can, it puts every other movie out right now to shame.

There are very few things I love more then a good sci-fi film and Oblivion is a very good sci-fi film. Tom Cruise may be a crazy person in real life but he also happens to still be one of the best leading men in Hollywood. He is terrific here and carries the film. Olga Kurylenko (One of the most beautiful women on earth) also stars in this film and I believe she is a vastly underrated actress and insanely gorgeous, Hollywood should cast her in more movies.
