Tin man! Solid gold!
''Murphy.''
In a dystopic & crime ridden Detroit, a terminally wounded cop returns to the force as a powerful cyborg with submerged memories haunting him.

RoboCop
It is definitely an action movie, with lots of gunfire, blood, and some gruesome (yet funny at the same time) scenes.
It seems a bit dated now, 20 years later....but I think the cast is great, including ... read more

"Robocop You’re under arrest Pinhead! In a matchup between RoboCop and Pinhead, Pinhead likely wins by a large margin due to his supernatural reality-warping abilities, despite RoboCop's superior physical strength and firepower. While RoboCop is heavily armored and armed, Pinhead operates on a magical, demonic level that conventional weapons cannot defeat.RoboCop (Alex Murphy) Capabilities Strengths & Durability: Cybernetic body capable of lifting cars, smashing through walls, and surv"
"RoboCop You’re under arrest, Leatherface RoboCop overwhelmingly defeats Leatherface due to superior durability, advanced targeting systems, and high-powered weaponry. While Leatherface is a strong, relentless human slasher with a chainsaw, he cannot overcome RoboCop’s armored plating, which is designed to withstand ballistic fire, making a chainsaw ineffective against the cyborg officer. Key Comparison: Durability: RoboCop routinely tanks high-caliber bullets and plasma shots. Leat"
"Another great work by Paul Verhoven. He really knows how to make people cringe with the use of well placed violence. Alex Murphy: Murphy was a gung-ho cop that liked to rush into danger, all in the name of the law. Of course he probably wished he had waited for backup when getting ambushed by Clarence and his thugs, and losing his hand to a shotgun blast. Of course he didn't just lose his hand. He pretty much lost every other part of his body as well. Believe me, there wasn't much left. If"
"RoboCop Is Chucky under arrest? Outcome: RoboCop would win a direct confrontation. While Chucky is a master of stealth, RoboCop's infrared and thermal sensors would make it difficult for Chucky to hide. Furthermore, Chucky's knives would likely fail to penetrate RoboCop's titanium alloy armor, whereas RoboCop's heavy artillery could easily destroy a plastic doll body. Chucky's only real chance would be using voodoo to attempt a soul transfer, but RoboCop’s status as a cyborg might comp"
"Robocop/Alex Murphy Is Pumpkinhead under arrest? Outcome: In a hypothetical matchup between Pumpkinhead, the demon of vengeance, and RoboCop, Detroit’s cybernetic law enforcer, the outcome depends on whether technology can overcome a supernatural curse. Outcome: While RoboCop has the targeting systems to land precise hits, Pumpkinhead is magically protected from dying by "conventional means". Unless RoboCop identifies the human summoner—a task usually requiring detective work rather t"

"Peter Weller could really use a hand here. "
"Reason for the future sucking: Crime is at all time high, the city of Detriot is on the verge of being brought out by a mega company, and part of California is inavertatly destroyed by a faulty satellite accident. Year it takes place: Near future, (for the sake of arguement, early 90's, give or take). Update: It has been pointed out, by someone else on the site, that the exact year it takes place is 2015."
"15.2. This is way more than just your average action film. Robocop actually has a lot to say about societal issues such as corporate greed and corruption, crime and policing, etc. And on the top of that it's a masterfully written and directed film. "
