Bubba Ho-Tep was the most surreal and surprisingly pleasing movie I've ever seen in a quite a-long time. Bruce Campbell goes from fighting Shemps to fighting Cancer and an undead mummy which he Christians, Bubba Ho-Tep. But there's another thing: You see, Campbell is Elvis Presley. Or should I say, the Cancer-ridden Elvis Presley in one of his most best screen roles. Joining him in the fight is Os... read more

kennedy dice di aver visto uno... read more

Description: Based on the Bram Stoker Award nominee short story by cult author Joe R. Lansdale, Bubba Ho-tep tells the "true" story of what really did become of Elvis Presley. We find Elvis (Bruce Campbell) as an elderly resident in an East Texas rest home, who switched identities with an Elvis impersonator years before his "death", then missed his chance to switch back. Elvis teams up with Jack (Ossie Davis), a fellow nursing home resident who thinks that he is actually President John F. Kennedy, and the two valiant old codgers sally forth to battle an evil Egyptian entity who has chosen their long-term care facility as ... (more)

October 2018 Horrorfest (42 movies items)

"Re-watch - Oct. 2nd Bubba Ho-Tep is still infectious fun from start to finish. Possibly Bruce Campbell's best performance, and his scenes with Ossie Davis are pure bliss. I love everything about this movie, and I'll keep coming back to it. It's also responsible for launching my interest in and still-growing love for Joe R. Lansdale's writings."

2018: Films I've Watched in February (24 movies items)

"First Watched 2/24/2018 This film is proof that Bruce Campbell needs to be in more films he is the hero Hollywood needs! Here we have a film which is fun and funny throughout and plus it takes an urban legend and has fun with it and you can really tell that in the performances. Campbell was born to play the King because he is da KING :D bow to the King baby! XD but seriously this film was a hidden gem that I am really glad I got around too and I know it will be on my re-watch list in the ne"

Movie Reviews (651-700) (50 movies items)

" One of the more original ideas that has been green-lit by a production studio about a very old Elvis with a rash on his d*** and a dark-skinned JFK fighting a redneck mummy. The flashbacks are beacons of light when Elvis remembers back to the old glorious time. That the film stars Bruce Campbell as the old-timer is a huge bonus. While the film takes it's time before the horror elements really kick in - the real nightmare is that being old and stranded in a home with strangers is a living hell."

Miika's Movie Diary - 2017 (250 movies items)

500 Essential Cult Movies (502 movies items)

" Bubba Ho-Tep appearing in the comedy section is more for the ease of categorization than an accurate assessment of the film's genre, as it could just as easily come under drama, horror, experimental or even fantasy. As ambitious and wide-ranging as its themes may be, Bubba is never confused and doesn't stray from its central narrative: that the two most unlikely candidates are given a second chance to be heroes. "
