Nearly Flawless Classic.

This film tells the true story of a huge and rather comedi... read more

I love LOVE this movie. The tension & diasterous desperation of Dog Day begins & ends with Al's depiction of John Wojtowicz. Watching him trying to salvage the failed robbery attempt, you can just feel the downhill fatal end result oozing out of Pacino's character before it ever occurs. For me, this is the real start of Al's explosive charisma that's he's become famous for, but before it e... read more

A New York man and two accomplices are besieged in a bank with all the bank employees after his attempt to rob enough money to pay for his lover's sex change operation goes awry. What results is a two day media circus in which his private life and the humiliation of the police is laid bare for the whole city.

1001 Movies ... my own version (1970's) (39 movies items)

" Notes: Eventually, I wasn’t disappointed, that’s for sure, and it is definitely one of these movies which actually deserve their terrific reputation. Indeed, it is easily one of the best movies starring Al Pacino, the guy was really on fire back in those days, and he gave here one of his best performances. The fact that it is a true story didn't really interest me but it was just an amazing story and it kept me mesmerized until the end. Indeed, the main character, Sonny Wortzik, is such a "
