A Norwegian made Hollywood style disaster film. The CGI was pretty good at times and then pretty awful at times. It follows the disaster film formula quite a lot and offers really nothing new. The tone felt a bit darker especially after the tsunami hits than you would have in a American film and I think that is why I liked this more or was it because I was drunk... Well, anyway this ended the film year for me.

The Rock (1996)
New Years Eve, so I decided to watch some movies and drink some gin alone. The theme song had been playing on my head for days after watching Armageddon. This is just such a fun action film to rewatch.

The Death of Superman (2018)
Good animation film about a great Superman story line. I still don't like some of the character designs (Superman mostly looks awful) but the animation is pretty good in this. I'm really waiting for the Reign of the Supermen film quite a lot now.

The non-chronological order kinda ruins this movie. I didn't mind not seeing the creatures/or what ever the things causing the apocalypse were. The performances were pretty good. The film was pretty predictable like the business man and I also got really bored towards the end.

Armageddon (1998)
I hadn't seen this in years and decided to watch this after beating the first remastered Spyro. This is really stupid but also really fun action film.

Brick Mansions (2014)
I stayed barely awake while watching this. I have seen the original once (somewhere between 2006-08 I think) and only remembered some bald guy parkouring around and a bomb defusal. Now I'm writing this about two weeks later and basically remember as much of this film. The dubbing of David Belle was hilarious.

Also my brother watched this after Gremlins and I slept on the couch and watched probably 2 minutes of the film. After waking up on Christmas Eve I watched this because I hadn't seen Die Hard in over 10 years. It's still great action film.

Gremlins (1984)
Almost Christmas Eve so I wanted to watch some "Christmas" films. Started watching this with my brother on 23rd but fell asleep because of the work week before and had to finish the next day.

Aquaman (2018)
Overall really fun time in the theater. I liked mostly everything in the film but there was some horrible cheese that made me drop the rating. It's a long film but I really enjoyed it so it didn't feel long at all. Dolph Lundgren was really good in the film.

The Night Before (2015)
This film has turned into my Christmas film of choice. Just really fun comedy that I can rewatch yearly.
hsallinen's rating:
Some really powerful images in this film and the restoration and coloring was done really greatly.

Better Watch Out (2016)
Pretty enjoyable and fun horror film but I wish they had shown the kills more. At least on the bluray I own they cut away from them bit disappointingly.
hsallinen's rating:
High-Rise (2016)
I really liked the weirdness of this film. And the performances were good too.
hsallinen's rating:
I liked Jason Momoa and Stephen Lang together and Lang had some good emotional scenes. The action was pretty good but nothing special.
hsallinen's rating:
Kurt Russell as Santa worked well. Everything else was your generic Christmas movie with some really awful CGI.

Super Troopers 2 (2018)
Man, this was disappointing one the first film is one of my favorite comedies. This one was just so unfunny comedy movie. I laughed like 4 times and half of them were Brian Cox related laughs. The jokes were 95% lazy Canada related ones that just made me roll my eyes. After this I'm scared of rewatching the first one now.
hsallinen's rating:
Overlord (2018)
I was expecting just an enjoyable action film and was pleasently surprised by the quality of this film. There were real explosions, nice practical and CG mix on the effects and the action was shot well and sounded great. The "zombies" were actually pretty terrifying with the powers and movement. I also digged the chemistry of group. And Pilou Asbæk was good bad guy for the film.
hsallinen's rating:
Beyond the Gates (2016)
The concept of this film is really cool but the final product didn't really reach my expectations. The music by Wojciech Golczewski was great.
