Lauren Bacall

Okay, so this comparison is more than a little bit obvious. Lizabeth Scott was clearly in the mold of Bacall by the studios. Lauren Bacall was known as "The Look", while Scott was given the moniker "The Threat". Not only were they quite similar in looks and voice, but they both proved to be something of a staple in film noir. And of course, you can't ignore the fact that Scott was paired with Humphrey Bogart in the noir classic "Dead Reckoning" (1947) perhaps in a deliberate attempt to recapture the Bogie/Bacall magic.

There is just something about Rebecca Herbst that is reminiscent of Gene Tierney. Perhaps the fact that I am a fan of both actresses has something to do with it, but even without that, it can't be denied that the coloring and facial expressions similarities are almost downright spooky - and extremely beautiful.

Early in her career, especially with the release of "Tess" (1979), Nastassja Kinski was thought to be, according to one critic, "spookily reminiscent of a young Ingrid Bergman" and I have to say I agree. Of course, Bergman's daughter Isabella Rossellini looks uncannily like her, but given their relation that makes sense.

While I definitely feel that Tuesday Weld is the more superior actress, it can't be denied that these two look like they could be related. Completely different acting styles and personas, but they have that same blonde, baby-doll look.
And in turn, I have to say that Weld brings to mind . . .

Welsh-born, Irish-raised Peggy Cummins is best remembered for two films - the film noir classic "Gun Crazy" (1949), and the supernatural thriller "Curse Of The Demon" (1958). Like Weld, she had a seemingly ageless quality for many years, and had the looks of childlike innocence mixed with animal-like sensuality.

Liotta's acting style is more intense, Hunter was more handsome. But you can't dispute that from certain angles it looks like Hunter could have been Liotta's older twin.

When I first saw Justine Waddell on a promo for the 1998 A&E/LondonWeekendTelevision miniseries "Tess Of The D'Urbervilles", I thought that she and Natasha Gregson Wagner were one and the same. Interestingly enough, Waddell went on to play Gregson Wagner's mother, the iconic Natalie Wood, in a television biopic.

In my younger years, I thought these two actors were one and the same. Perhaps, not so coincidentally, they both costarred in films with Jodie Foster - Modine in "Hotel New Hampshire" (1984), in which he played a dual role, and Jacoby in the now classic "The Little Girl Who Lives Down The Lane" (1976).

Both of these lovely actresses were also talented dancers who appeared in many musicals as well as drama, film noir and adventure films. They looked so much alike that they even received one another's fan mail, confused fans, and even to this day, film historians and buffs still get them mixed up. Jergens and Mayo were also friends in real life, although they weren't too thrilled about being constantly mistaken for each other.
