I've made my own version of the 30 day song meme for a few reasons:
1. I don't believe in wasting energy thinking about bands and songs I don't like, nor would I want to find songs by said bands just for a list
2. I don't listen to the radio
3. I never feel guilty about liking a song

Strange Days - The Doors

Day 01 - Your favorite song

In my opinion this is the best song ever written, and it was written long before I was born. I found The Doors during my teenhood and they provided the perfect soundtrack for those years. At the time I embraced the words "music is your only friend until the end" as words to live by, and as I grow older and friends come and go it's remained true. Music has been there for me longer than anyone I've known besides my blood relatives, and it'll still be there for me when I'm old and grey. Comforting.

Baboon was a band from Denton, TX, formed while the members attended courses at the University of North Texas. This song was written about the singer's experience at UNT, which is where I graduated from. Therefore it reminds me of college.
