Fun fact: he shares a voice actor with the anime swordsman Gintoki Sakata.

He might look like a samurai but he is actually a ninja. He is actually the latest descendant to the title of "Yoshimitsu", which is given to all leaders of the Manjitou clan. Despite his scary appearance, Yoshimitsu is actually a man of honor. Like Robin Hood, he dedicates himself to steal from the rich and give to the poor.
In combat, he wields a magical sword that craves the blood of evildoers and will suck out the soul of its owner if they do not make good on this promise. Apparently, the souls of the previous Yoshimitsu are a part of the sword, as the ascension ceremony for the newest leader requires being cut by the sword.

The youngest daughter of a noble family, Momohime was fatally injured in a mysterious attack on her family's manor. However, she is saved from death by Jinkuro, a sinister ghost who possesses her body to help in his quest for the Kuromitsu blade.
The player characters is not Momohime, it's actually Jinkuro possessing her body. She, or rather he, uses the Oboro style, which Jinkuro inherited after killing his former master. Depending on the ending, Momohime can learn the style herself after she fully combines with her soul with Jinkuro's.

Eventually, he heards of the tale of Soul Edge and believes that this weapon is the key to saving Korea from its perpetual state of war. Unfortunately, his quest to find it takes him long past the point of stupidity as many people repeatedly tell him that Soul Edge is a weapon of pure evil, but Yun-Seong refuses to listen to them. It all works out, however, as Tokugawa Ieyasu ends hostilities with Korea, giving Yun-Seong no reason to continue his quest.

Genesis can channel magic into sword, endowing it with a red aura and emblazoning runic symbols along its length. Controversial as he might be, there is no denying of his skill with the blade.

More often than not, characters with swords will be the heroes of the story. Today, we choose the best swordsmen.
