The pairing of McQueen and MacGraw works, even if both characters can be annoying at times. Peckinpah's style is legendary, even if messy or unrestrained. He simply makes cool movies, even if they aren't great, and this is no exception. "25.1 One of those movies that you like but is still so flawed and cliche that it kinda pisses you off. The directorโs hand is too heavy, all over the damn celluloid and the sound editor, mixer, whatever must have been taking LSD. So much dissonance. "First viewing - June 22nd I wanted something kind of light or fun to watch, and for some reason went with a Sam Peckinpah movie instead. Ah well. I enjoyed it for what it is. The cast does an excellent job across the board, and the story was interesting and entertaining most of the time.
