No terror, fear or thrills to this curse

John Carpenter's 1978 'Halloween' is wholly deserving of its status as a horror classic. To this day it's still one of the freakiest films personally seen and introduced the world to one of horror's most iconic villainous characters Michael Myers.Which is why it is such a shame that not only are all of the sequels nowhere near as good but that the decline in quality is so drastic. Ok, the original... read more

The sixth entry in the series has Dr. Sam Loomis once again in pursuit of the homicidal Michael Myers. Now driven by a satanic power, Myers chases his grown niece and her child to his midwestern hometown of Haddonfield. Although the town is trying to overcome it's past history of nightmarish bloodletting, a local radio shock jock is stirring things up again and the unlucky residents of Myers' former house are turning up dead.

" In what would turn out to be โ€œthe endโ€ for the series, for now, Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers, presented a lesson on how to successfully alienate fans of a horror movie franchise. First, by killing off a beloved fan favourite character, in the most horrible way possible, then give a ludicrous origin story for the series main villain. The sixth entry in the series has Dr. Sam Loomis once again in pursuit of the homicidal Michael Myers. Now driven by a satanic power, Myers chases"

Ok, the original 'Halloween' is very difficult to follow on from, but most of the sequels could at least looked like effort was made into them. 'Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers' is a prime example of this, a film with very little to recommend and just very poorly done in many areas.Starting with the very few good things, Paul Rudd and Donald Pleasance, in his last film before his death from heart failure no” read more

Fall 2021 Viewings (35 movies items)

"Viewing: 2nd (or 3rd) Format: Streaming Thoughts: HALLOWEEN WEEKEND SCREENING #1. Kicking off my Halloween 2021 weekend I gathered with some friends to watch something horror related. Someone suggested picking one of the Halloween movies and then somehow Paul Rudd came up and we landed on Halloween 6, aka The Curse of Michael Myers. As a teen back in the 90s I recall being quite obsessed with MM and the Halloween franchise, however not much stands out about this installment. Well I think it's sa"
