But is this life reality? No. It is a film.

The Holy Mountain
This film is trippy. Although a lot of people automatically think 'oh this is a film about drugs' or 'oh the director of this movie was totally on drugs'. These statements may hold some truth, but this movie is so much more than that. This film actually has a plot and characters. The movie is about a group of people on the search for immortality and along the way find enlightenment instead. Be forewarned this trailer is deep and can be surprisingly frightening.

Waking Life
This film is quite trippy I must say. A film about lucid dreaming. I don't know if you have ever had a lucid dream, but it's pretty crazy and intense. Also the main character is played by Wiley Wiggins which is also awesome. Last thing to note, if you have a hard time watching a movie about complex subjects dealing with psychology, social relations and quantum physics then it's probably a film you will not enjoy.

Mind Game
Mind Game is such a bizarre movie. I can't even begin to explain what happens. You just have to watch it. This movie makes Paprika look tame. There is also a lot of sexuality portrayed in this film. My personal favorite is the love making scene, it's so well done. But alas if I were to use that clip it would be a spoiler.

Enter The Void
This film is absoultely nuts as well. So many 'seizure' moments, especially in the opening credits. A lot of pretty visuals. Must forewarn. not for the light hearted. Some pretty bloody scenes, lots of sexuality. If you can handle raw cinematography. I suggest it.

Koyaanisqatsi
This film is very well done. It's a visual film. No script, main characters, or plot really just music and cinematography of different places and people. Mostly the modern way of life. I must say though, the only reason I gave this movie a low score is because it disturbed me, quite deeply. I've never had a movie make me feel the way this movie does. After watching this film I had a hard time getting to sleep. Something about the main music score and the overall message of the film just got under my skin. I guess that's why it's such a highly recommended film?

The Girl That Leapt Through Time
This film is soooo good. I actually have a tattoo on my wrist of an 01, in the exact style the main character has hers. That's how much I love this movie. I picked 2 videos for this one because there 2 really good scenes I found of the artistic quality, and of course trippyness (is that a word? lol)to represent this film. If your looking for a more family friendly, mind twisting movie this one is a great choice.

The Wall
The Wall is a classic. Very depressing and dark. But visually and musically stunning. Can't say much more about it. Trippy? Of course. Be forewarned if you haven't seen the film, the video I chose is deep and depressing.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
I'm going to start this by saying Johnny Depp is amazing, playing Hunter S. Thompson. This movie has so many trippy moments it's almost not funny. But how can it not be funny? The entire movie is about... drugs.

A Scanner Darkly
I love Philip K. Dick. I also love this movie. Very well done artistically. The same style as Waking Life, as well as same director.

Alice in Wonderland
It doesn't matter which version. Watch them all. They will ALL be as equally trippy. Also the video I chose pretty much sums it up.

Yellow Submarine
I love the Beatles. I have so many awesome memories with this film. It's so bizarre and out there. The animation is one of a kind. A must see in my opinion. (Also, very trippy.)

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
This movie is so cute. Also it has to do with erasing memories, and everyone knows when you erase memories some PRETTY TRIPPY THINGS HAPPEN. You have to see it if you haven't yet. Lastly, I love Jim Carrey.

Requiem For a Dream
Requiem For a Dream is a very messed up, depressing film, but also very eye opening. It shows so many ideas such as how messed up media can be, what exactly you can buy with money, and the dangers certain life styles can bring. Jared Leto did an awesome job playing the main character in this film. (before he became a glam rock star.) So if you want to see an awesome film with a hot Jennifer Connelly and a before egotistical Jared Leto, go see this film.

Fantasia
Disney, if you like it or hate it, has a tremendous amount of material and rules a lot of the animation ground in the United States. Honestly the 'Fantasia' series of films is my favorite. It totally makes this list. If you don't know why, just watch this.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
Such a classic. Everything about this film is trippy. I highly prefer the Gene Wilder version. No one (not even Johnny Depp) can replace Gene Wilder.

Across the Universe
I love musicals. Especially ones dealing with The Beatles. A lot of people don't like this film because they believe the songs are 'butchered'. I feel that if you are truly a Beatles fan then you can respect it on some level and have some good input about it.
This is my personal favorite scene.

The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus
I've honestly only seen this movie once, but I did enjoy it. Awesome cast, too many to name. Such an amazing fantasy world and a magical story that is sure to entertain. Also Heath Ledger's last film (sadly).

Paprika
It's been a while since I've seen this, but it's kind of hard to forget. Very well made anime, with a crazy plot and out of this world ideas.

The Fountain
There are like 3 different stories going on at the same time in this film. It's such a great movie. All of the stories intertwine and eventually come together. It's quite a beautiful piece of cinematography.

Echoes: Pink Floyd At Pompeii
Can't go wrong with Pink Floyd. Fact. This clip is a bit long (8 mins) but the music and the images they show are just so intoxicating. One of the best documentaries I've seen.

A Clockwork Orange
How could I end this list without this film? It's my favorite film ever. And it's so outrageous and gruesome as well as SUPER colorful (when it needs to be). This movie is on drugs.
This is a list of movies, A list of trippy, out of your mind movies.
