This movie succeeds to be a crazy, yet fun thriller from start to finish. Jake Gyllenhaal gives a brilliant performance. One of my favorite movies of 2014.

I'm not a fan of this genre, but it's a solid and thought-provoking movie. I also like the cast.

Watchmen (2009)
I love this movie. "Watchmen" is dark and almost poetic. The characters are great, especially Rorschach and The Comedian. The cinematography and the soundtrack are amazing. The opening sequence with Bob Dylan's "The Times They Are A-Changin'" is brilliant.

It's a bleak movie. The performances are outstanding. What bothers me with "Foxcatcher" is that it occasionally gets boring. I was actually waiting for John du Pont to get really pissed. But when John du Pont shoots David Schultz, it feels pretty anti-climatic.

Staying Alive (2015)
I didn't like this movie. There were a few laughable moments, but the characters annoyed me. Also, the ending was rather disappointing.

Rush (2013)
"Rush" is a brilliant movie. It manages to make me feel truly engaged to a sport I actually don't pay any interest to. Also, the terrific performances from the two male leads are electrifying to watch.

Matthew McConaughey!!!

Yup. I thought Matthew McConaughey was great.

It's a surprisingly exciting thriller. I like detective stories, and it was great to see Liam Neeson as the detective. The pace is slow, but I was never bored.

Dreamworks impresses with gorgeous animation in this feature, there's no doubt in that. I think the first movie is great. The sequel is good. I like most of the characters, although Hiccup's voice and his new looks feels a bit like a wrong mix. I felt more emotional connected to the first movie, and it's simply because I prefer the first plot.

Didn't expect from this sequel, and I must say that the first one is funnier, but it turned out to be mostly entertaining. I actually liked the new characters (I do like Christoph Waltz and Chris Pine). Watching Pine's crazy character was really enjoyable. (And I couldn't help myself, but imagine my friend playing that character.)

This was a peculiar movie experience. It's sick and disturbing, but there are some elements to appreciate. I like the camerawork, and it's not that gory, which works.

But it just got too weird for my taste. The acting was occasionally over the top, and the finale was clunky.

3:10 to Yuma (2007)
"3:10 to Yuma" stands as a solid Western movie, thanks to the great performances from Christian Bale and Russell Crowe, and their fascinating character arcs.
SML96's rating:
The movie strikes me with its gorgeous cinematography, its beautiful score, and its brilliant cast. The pace is slow, but it fits the atmosphere. The narration works most parts. Overall, it's a damn fine Western movie.

"The Road" portrays a post-apocalyptic exactly how I imagine it: cold, dark, horrifying and hopeless. Viggo Mortensen and Kodi Smit-McPhee elevate this movie to a high standard with terrific performances. The father and son relationship is beautiful and devastating to watch.

This turned out to be an uplifting movie. The leads had such a great chemistry. The movie was surprisingly full of wit and charm. I loved it!

The concept is great for a comedy movie, and "Horrible Bosses" manage to execute it in several ways. The interactions are mostly funny. Kevin Spacey rules!

The Grey (2012)
It's depressing and very thought provoking! The cast is great! The pace is solid, giving the audience time to imagine how it would've been to be in a similar situation. When death occurs, it's visually striking and heartbreaking, compared to standard efforts at the genre that only involve jump scare deaths or death by character stupidity. "The Grey" is not only about a group of men being hunted by wolves in the wilderness. It's more a suspenseful drama with high-adrenaline scenes lurking around in every corner.
