Brilliant performance by Matthew McConaughey and also by Jared Leto. McConaughey's dedication to his role is exceptional and only comparable to Christian Bale in The Machinist. I hope he recovered from his huge weight loss.

Two years ago I watched an inspiring documentary about Jack Kerouac's travels across America (On Jack's Road) and was glad that a movie was about to be released in the same year. Now I finally watched this movie and I'm disappointed. I expected something different, a much better movie.

Nevertheless I liked the final scene (visually and acoustically). This movie could be much better if it wouldn't be so overly depressive and slow.

A nice world war 2 drama about a girl who lost her parents and younger brother and was adopted by another couple. The story is happening in Germany, so I was a bit disappointed that words written in books or on walls were not German but English. That makes it less authentic.
