" Director: Sydney Pollock His 8th movie My 9th movie watched from the director The staging and cinematography in this movie was really distracting, making it tough to focus on the story. The premise is interesting enough but I could never really get into it. It wasn't bad but I was expecting a lot more. Added to Lists: Top Ten Films - Sydney Pollock __________ Location: Tokyo, Japan"

"When The Bride's sword gets stuck in one of the Crazy 88s, the scene closely mirrors a scene in The Yakuza where the same thing happens to Ken Takakura's charcter. The overhead shot in this scene is also the same."

" 1974 Directed By Sidney Pollack Starring Robert Mitchum / Ken Katatura / Richard Jordan Keiko Kishi / Christina Kokubo / Eiji Okada and featuring Brian Keith as George Tanner My Rating : 3.5 for Very Good "

"May 28 "Ken is a tormented man. It is Eiko, of course, but it is also Japan. Ken is a relic, a leftover of another age, of another country." This was a pretty fun movie. Robert Mitchum played a really cool character, it was interesting from start to finish and it had a really nice atmosphere to it. This is a really solid movie and is one of the many great hidden gems to come from the 70's."
