Can I come with you?

This is what I'm talking about! Classic Dystopia. The future is literally in ruins. It didn't have a glorious budget but the story alone was thrilling and grainy. A good mixture of science fiction and horror, which I'm not a massive fan of. But what the hell.

Sometime in the future, an outpost on a stranded planet on the frontlines of an interstellar war has hit an all time low on c... read more

The future kind of sucks. (430 movies items)

"Reason for the future sucking: A battle takes place on a mining colony, with deadly robo insect creatures, that can take on other people's forms, as a prime defense. That totally can't backfire as a plan. Year it takes place: 2078"

Pop Culture Phenomenon Films: 90’s (1884 movies items)

" Screamers is a 1995 science fiction horror film starring Peter Weller, Roy Dupuis, and Jennifer Rubin, and directed by Christian Duguay. The screenplay, written by Dan O'Bannon with a rewrite by Miguel Tejada-Flores, is based on Philip K. Dick's 1953 short story "Second Variety", and addresses themes commonly found in that author's work: societal conflict, confusion of reality and illusion, and machines turning upon their creators. The film received generally negative response from critics"

"This was a nice surprise, a mid 90's 20 million dollars budgeted Sci-fi horror film that was good. There were nice matte paintings, the performances were mostly good the robots got pretty creepy at times. Some of the CGI shots weren't that impressive though."

It does a lot of world-building, which I really liked, and the "Screamers" themselves are pretty interesting and neatly designed. While I enjoyed some parts and elements in it, it does have it's share of plot-holes and bad acting. I wouldn't really recommend it, since it isn't an "
