An average movie

To be honest, I wasn't expecting much from this flick and, indeed, it was pretty weak. One of the issues was that even though Robocop is and remains really badass, it is also a rather limited character and the whole thing tends to get really redundant. Furthermore, after 2 new installments, there was not much left from Verhoeven's vision and what was left a rather lame futuristic action movie. Ind... read more

Heartbreakingly bland and bloodless sequel

RoboCop 3 feels like a RoboCop movie created by a filmmaking team who do not understand what made the brand so appealing in the first place. A PG-13 instalment without lead actor Peter Weller, this second sequel to 1987's RoboCop is a completely generic, dull action flick devoid of the sharp societal commentary and deliriously entertaining ultraviolence that characterised its predecessors. When the ruthless corporation that runs Motor City begins kicking families out of their homes to clear space for a profitable new real estate project, Robocop joins forces with a renegade band of freedom fighters to save them. But Robocop must face some deadly foes, including a lethally efficient android and a dangerous gang of thugs. Robocop's latest arsenal of high-tech weaponry only somewhat evens the battlefield as this one lone superhero takes on the entire army of corporate militia in an all-out war to control Detroit!

"Reason for the future sucking: The homeless are displaced from their homes, so OCP can build New Detroit. And RoboCop is reduced to wearing a jet pack. Year it takes place: 2020"

Heartbreakingly bland and bloodless sequel

“RoboCop 3 feels like a RoboCop movie created by a filmmaking team who do not understand what made the brand so appealing in the first place. A PG-13 instalment without lead actor Peter Weller, this second sequel to 1987's RoboCop is a completely generic, dull action flick devoid of the sharp societal commentary and deliriously entertaining ultraviolence that characterised its predecessors. Although the bones of an interesting story idea are present, the execution is downright disastrous, with new writer-director Fred Dekker disposing of the RoboCop franchise's trademark identity but never carving out a distinct or interesting identity in its place. RoboCop 3 is heartbreakingly bland and bloodless, but it is still too dark and violent for children, begging the question of who the target aud” read more

" Less violent, than the last two and more “toyitic” this time around OCP is targeting the homeless population, and urban pacification, in order to complete work on Delta City. "31.12.

"Trailer debut: Early 1992 Original release: Summer 1992 New release: April 18th 1993 (Japan), November 5th 1993 (US) Reasons: Shelved until 1993 by Orion as it went through a period of bankruptcy and was purchased by MGM Benefits: Orion would be resurrected in 2013 as a fully-functioning and moderately successful studio Flaws: Had the grating misfortune of opening months after Japan and in a post-Jurassic Park era. Made $1 million less than half its budget on its opening weekend."

Peter "
