"Trilogies are all about going back to the beginning and discovering something that wasn't true from the get go. Godfather, Jedi, all revealed something that we thought was true that wasn't true."

Released in 1996 and 1997 (respectively), Scream and Scream 2 were notable for their satirisation of horror/slasher clichés and the realm of Hollywood sequels. Director Wes Craven and scr... read more

Four years before, we had the terrifying and graphically disturbing first installment in the Scream franchise and then a year later we had a terrifying sequel. I am not a horror fan, and so this type of meta-horror film is about the only kind i can really get into. It's got just enough suspense, and more sophisticated humor (in my opinion) than traditional horror films, that it is an enjoyable couple hours. But then again, this is directed by the king of horror films, so perhaps i need to give the genre another chance. The film doesn't hesitate to mak... read more

Description: Wes Craven's Scream (1996) was a half-parody/half-tribute to the first wave of slasher films of the 1970s and 1980s, and since most of them spawned a large number of sequels, it's only appropriate that Craven and screenwriter Kevin Williamson produced a third installment of their Scream franchise. When people start dropping like flies around the production of the movie Stab 3 (the latest movie sequel based on events occurring in Scream), Sidney and other Greensboro survivors are once again drawn into mayhem. ""Final" de la triologia, que me parece muy sacado de la manga. Esta vez el asesino no tiene casi ningún sentido y la verdad la pelicula permanece interesante pero es solo porque repite la formula que se utilizo las anteriores dos veces, lo único interesante esta vez es que la pelicula se auto parodia mucho mas claramente, dándole este papel aun personaje pero esto es bueno y malo a la vez pues esas escenas resultan a veces muy fuera de lugar. "OCTOBER 5: This movie is some kind of comedic awful. Scream parodies the horror genre in general and this movie parodies the Scream franchise specifically. It seems to me more comedy than horror. It's still fun, tho. I like that Randy had a cameo despite dying in number 2. FAVORITE SCENE: The Carrie Fisher scene. FAVORITE DEATH: Cotton's death."
