"You'd think that by it being a Merchant & Ivory film it should be boring and stuffy. But James Ivory sure knows how to write a dope-ass story--the most criminally overlooked of the now infamous E.M. Forster adaptations trilogy. Although I've never read the book I've heard it reported numerous times that Ivory and Merchant take certain liberties with Forster's original premise, or more specifically the conclusion.
