" Billy Elliot is a 2000 British coming-of-age comedy-drama film directed by Stephen Daldry and written by Lee Hall. Set in County Durham in North East England during the 1984–1985 miners' strike, the film is about a working-class boy who has a passion for ballet. His father objects, based on negative stereotypes of male ballet dancers. The film stars Jamie Bell as 11-year-old Billy, Gary Lewis as his father, Jamie Draven as Billy's older brother, and Julie Walters as his ballet teacher."
" First Viewing Viewing Date: June 25th Via: iTunes Store Plot: In England, a young boy grows a fondness for ballet and wishes to take classes, but his father and brother strongly oppose his newfound passion. Rating: 7.9/10 Why Did I Watch It? This is another truly iconic movie that I felt like I should've seen a long time ago. After listening to old recordings of the Ricky Gervais Show on XFM, and hearing Karl Pilkington edit himself into a scene in this movie, it was brought back to my mind"
"23.11. Netflix Olin näemmä nähnyt aiemminkin, ei oikein muistikuvia. Liikuttava työläisdraama, josta ei pienistä virhearvioinneista huolimatta ääneen mitään pahaa sanoisi."
" Director: Stephen Daldry Starring: Jamie Bell, Julie Walters, Jean Heywood, Gary Lewis, Jamie Draven, Stuart Wells, Mike Elliot, Billy Fane and Nicola Blackwell A talented young boy becomes torn between his unexpected love of dance and the disintegration of his family."

"Re-watch - Sept. 17th I am proud to say that Billy Elliot remains excellent and I still really enjoy it. The cast, the music, the story, really there's nothing to fault here. It may fall just shy of greatness, but it's a winning tale that I'll gladly return to periodically over the years."
