"Format: DVD Viewing: 3rd (or 4th) Thoughts: I've seen this movie countless times and it's a good reminder of how strong the indie film era of the 90s and early 00s was. This is essentially Jon Favreau's Mean Streets, except it's a whole lot funnier. And the main ingredient to that is Vince Vaughn let loose for really the first time, in what would become his motor mouthed, improv-driven trademark. Really cool to see him come into his own here, that would solidify him as a comedic force that we wo"

" Cast : Jon Favreau, Vince Vaughn, Famke Janssen, Peter Falk, Drea de Matteo, Jennifer Esposito, Sam Rockwell What was it about? Two aspiring boxers, lifelong friends, get involved in a money-laundering scheme through a low-level organized crime group. My two cents: Before directing blockbusters such as 'Iron Man', Jon Favreau started out as a director with this modest comedy. This flick is also a good reminder that, a long time ago, Vince Vaughn used to be so damned funny. I mean, when was"

"First viewing - Jan. 14th I tend to love Jon Favreau's films, so I figured I'd give this one a look. Turns out it was just OK. The plot was decent but nothing original, it moves quickly enough that I didn't have time to get bored with it, and most of the cast does a good job (especially Sam Rockwell in his minor supporting role). Most people seem to love Vince Vaughn in this movie, but he really annoyed me and I rarely found him funny. I get that that's supposed to be his character, this annoyi"

"Jon Faveau sits behind the director's chair for the first time and with his usual partner in crime, Vince Vaughn, the real life friends portray movie life friends in a film that shows that if you can make it in the mob, then you've really got it made. This is an independent movie that often tends to get overlooked because of the more well-known Faveau/Vaughn indie efort, Swingers. And while I like that film too, I thought this one was just a tiny bit better, not just story-wise but more in par"
