Closes the Cornetto trilogy with laughs and heart

"This time, we're going to see this through to the bitter end! Or lager end..."

In the interim since Hot Fuzz in 2007, Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have moved onto bigger things: Wright dabbled in Hollywood moviemaking with Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, while Pegg and Frost starred in Paul, as well as a host of other American projects. It's exciting to see the guys reuniti... read more

After their critically acclaimed comedy hits Shaun Of The Dead and Hot Fuzz, Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg present The World’s End - the ‘green-mint flavoured’ finale in their uniquely creative Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy. Since its inception, the series has been recognised for its innovative twist on parodying specific genres. Judging from trailers and still images, The World’s End seem... read more

A good movie

Since this movie was the last part of Edgar Wright’s Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy, of course, I was really eager to check it out. In fact, even though ‘Shaun of the Dead’ and ‘Hot Fuzz’ immediately became some cult-classics, this movie didn’t actually make much waves, maybe  because it was released 6 long years after its predecessor. Well, anyway, even though it turned out to be fu... read more

Description: Gary King is determined to reunite his friends from his youth in an attempt to recreate an epic pub crawl from 20 years ago. Their target: "The Golden Mile" in their town of Newton Haven. Their plan: five friends, twelve pubs, twelve pints, a few random shots, maybe some action with the ladies. Their first attempt failed miserably as they failed to make it to The World's End with the entire crew intact. This time around, they're older, wiser, and ready to get drunk - that is except for Gary's friend Andrew, who has gone sober. Starting with the The First Post, they realize the town may have changed, and they as individ ... (more)

Slant's 100 Best Sci-Fi Movies of All Time (100 movies items)

"Edgar Wright wrapped up his Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy with The World’s End, a rollicking alien-invasion ode to boozing up and moving on that bests even Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz in its comingling of hilarious buddy humor, aesthetically electric action, and genre shout-outsmanship. The story of a group of high school friends reunited to complete a famed pub crawl at the behest of their once-great, now-pitiful leader (Simon Pegg), only to find that their sleepy rural England hometown "

Movies the giraffe watched in 2019: July (22 movies items)

"Re-watch - July 19th It occurred to me that The World's End is the only one of Edgar Wright's films I hadn't seen more than once so I set out to fix that. Unfortunately the Bluray copy I own turned out to be scratched up at both the beginning and end of the film, which negatively impacted my overall experience. Such are the dangers of buying used, I guess, and let that serve as a reminder to me to always check the disks before dropping money on a used item. (The place I bought it from keeps eve"

" Ah, the end of the Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy. That's a thing-look it up. I loved it. If you loved Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, (and let's admit it, you've got to appreciate a certain type of humor to do so) then this film's for you! Yep, that's it. Beer and aliens. Go watch it."
