Nowhere near as funny or uplifting as 'Knocked Up', 'This Is 40' still has enough charm, not to mention another very good performance from Paul Rudd, to warrant a watch or two.

A very straight-forward, intertwining dramedy, that I find to be vastly underrated. Most of the reviews are terrible, but I had a really good time following each character. Not a fantastic movie, but a charming one. Might even beat out 'Valentines Day'.

It's not an extremely complete movie. Nor is there a whole lot of depth. But I really enjoyed most of the characters, and there is a slight message behind it all. Good for a rainy day. I really dug it.

Harrison Ford shines here, with the rest of the cast performing admirably. What really makes the movie for me, is the situation. I love movies involving some sort of government official, important person, etc. Especially those about the President of the United States. This one works pretty darn well, though it isn't all fresh. The action pieces also aren't too bad.

L.A. Confidential is the perfect example of how to make a film-noir. Like other greats such as 'Double Indemnity' and 'Chinatown', this masterful film doesn't miss a step. The narrative is brilliant, piecing together each plot device for a great climax that actually makes sense. The characters couldn't be more interesting, charismatic or complex, most notably (at least for me) Russel Crowe's Bud White, whom stops at nothing to dissect the corrupt goings-ons in the Los Angeles area, and is blazing full of fiery and determination throughout. I loved everything about this movie. You don't see Noirs like this anymore, and I treasure it, along with the aforementioned flicks above.

There isn't really anything special going on here, but I adore Vince Vaughn, and virtually anything he's in, I'm on board. Jennifer Aniston I can take or leave, but this flick as a whole is a pretty fun watch.

Another case of being nothing too fancy. The cast is what I probably enjoyed most, with the beautiful Kate Mara helping things out tremendously. There is a little curveball thrown into the plot to make it stand out a bit from others, which seemed to work pretty well. Overall, I recommend this little movie.

The Paperboy (2012)

'Paperboy' will undoubtedly be hated more so than not. Its one of those movies that's either far too violent, or far too bizarre. In this film's case, both apply. The cast is power packed, with Efron and McConaughey basically leading the way. Yes, ZAC EFRON is actually not bad here. John Cusack pops in towards the middle, and, naturally, his performance is worthy....and creepy as hell. Personally, I really enjoyed this flick. It isn't going to teach you anything, really, but it should rattle your bones a bit, and at the very least entertain you.
