There's just so much to love about Steven Spielberg's Lincoln. It's moving, it's well acted, well made, etc. In fact, it's one of the best films that 2012 has to offer. Effectively capturing the character of Lincoln, and all the surround him, this is an absolute must-see.

Just by judging the title alone, Lincoln became a potentially huge project that required a substantial amount of sophisticated figures in front and behind the camera. I found myself very underwhelmed by "Lincoln." Perhaps I simply heard too much hype before watching it, or maybe it just had too much quaint Americana for my tastes. All I know is that the movie didn't teach me anything I didn't already know, and half the subject matter (his struggles with his wife and son) seemed to be there only to kill time. “Warning: SpoilersMuch of Stephen Spielberg's output I do like very much. Not all his films post-Saving Private Ryan have been great, but there have been a handful that have been and Lincoln is one of them. I can though understand why some wouldn't like it, the first hour is lengthy and slow as well as quite talky. I think it may also depend on how much you know about Abraham Lincoln and the 13th Amendment, in the case of my mother she found the film interesting but because she didn't know much about the subject she didn't always find it easy to follow.

Admittedly my knowledge of it consists of knowing the basic facts but not the full picture. I cannot say whether it stretches the truth or whether it is accurate, but that wouldn't have mattered much to me as I found myself captiva” read more
