Given his performances in such films as Apocalypse Now and The Godfather, he had perfected the art of playing weird characters. Also, in such films as One the Waterfront, and A Streetcar Named Desire, he had demonstrated his uncanny acting ability. But, by 1996, he had simply become too weird to play this part. Val Kilmer gets honorable mention for this film in his role as Montgomery."
