“Since I really enjoyed 'Gerald's Game', I was quite eager to see another directing effort from Mike Flanagan and since this one was available on Neflix, I thought I might as well check it out. Well, with one location and basically two characters, it must have been the most minimalist thriller I have seen and I definitely have a weak spot for such minimalist features, especially when they are well put together. Still, even though Flanagan managed to make the most of it, I'm afraid it was still missing something though. For example, in 'Gerald's Game' which also had a really small scale, they added a youth trauma to the main character which created a very interesting extra layer.
