" Date: 11/26/2021 Viewed: Netflix First Viewing Note: I remember hearing good things about Hush when it first came out a few years ago, but I never got around to seeing it until now. I decided to watch it because it was available on Netflix (As of 11/26/2021). I'm glad I saw it because it was enjoyable. Hush is a solid movie in my opinion. Hush is able to do something fun and creative with the home invasion movie genre, which I appreciate. You have a deaf protagonist who is attempting to surv"

"The masked slasher genre hits a high note with this silent themed out in the middle of the woods scare fare in which a deaf woman finds herself all alone, isolated far away from the rest of the world, and stalked by a killer who doesn't care if his victim can hear him coming or not. He's still gonna slash yo deaf ass, even if you don't have the ability to hear yourself scream. As I already mentioned in earlier film entries, I've never been a big fan of most slasher flix. "In my eyes", this was a"

" Inktober prompt "Misfit" I admit home invasion isn't my favorite genre. It can easily devolve into "I would have made a totally different decision" or "I can't beleive she didn't do this obvious thing" and I think Hush fell into that hole a little too much for me. Also, I don't think they went hard enough on the deaf aspect! We got too much sound in this film. We should have seen more, if not all, from her perspective, with a few scenes from the other characters who can hear breaking up the"
“Since I really enjoyed 'Gerald's Game', I was quite eager to see another directing effort from Mike Flanagan and since this one was available on Neflix, I thought I might as well check it out. Well, with one location and basically two characters, it must have been the most minimalist thriller I have seen and I definitely have a weak spot for such minimalist features, especially when they are well put together. Still, even though Flanagan managed to make the most of it, I'm afraid it was still missing something though. For example, in 'Gerald's Game' which also had a really small scale, they added a youth trauma to the main character which created a very interesting extra layer. Here, however, it was extremely simplistic and the whole thing was pretty much reduced to an endless cat-and-mous” read more

"16.3. Netflix Kuuromykkä päähahmo on hyvä idea. Olisi siitä voinut jotain tosin irtikin saada. Muutenhan kaikki on yhtä klisettä. Sellaisenaan kliseekauhun parempaa osastoa."
