" Bright is a mess. It's a bad mess. A film that tries to mix so many elements into one thing, but instead of it ending up as a seamless action film with fantasy elements, it falls flat on its face. The problem is that it suffers from an identity crisis. The hard-hitting buddy cop action thriller with racial allegories doesn't work well together with all the exposition of magical mumbo-jumbo that Bright also has to offer. The fantasy elements really bring this down. You could make a film like thi"

" First Viewing Viewing Date: August 27th Via: Netflix Plot: In Los Angeles where interspecies tensions consistently boil, a human cop and his orc partner become embroiled in a prophesied turf war after discovering a powerful magical object. Rating: 6.7/10 "

"Often Hated For: Being a Netflix big-budget movie with buzz, who wrote and directed it, the metaphor heavy premise, its star, and its depiction of certain people in society. Reason I Love It: Urban fantasy brought to life, plain and simple. The primarily literary sub-genre has never been as fully realized as in this movie and that alone is a win. I also love that it provided David Ayer a new way to tell a familiar story he's been telling for years now. Though thinly-veiled, the metaphor is wo"

“Since this movie has a rather lame reputation, I wasn't expecting much but I was still curious. Well, I have to agree with all the critics, this movie was just seriously weak. Basically, it turned out to be some kind of mix of 'End of Watch' with 'The Lord of the Rings' and 'District 9' which was pretty weird but, except for some very poor jokes, it actually had some potential. However, from the moment they get their hands on this magic wand, the damned thing just became rather lame. Indeed, not only the plot was just a convoluted mess but, above all, the whole thing was just a succession of rather boring generic action scenes. I mean, sure, technically speaking, these action scenes were not bad but it became so tedious when the 2 main characters got stuck in a new shoot-out just after s” read more

" Netflix- 1hr. 57min. First Viewing There's a great idea inside Bright but, boy, this thing is a big clusterfuck of a film. The idea of using a fantasy-tinged plot to explore racism and corruption could lead to an exceptionally original and piercing film; that is, if the film's world's logic made any real sense, as it collapses under even the slightest examination (like: why would the world be exactly the same as our own, despite the alternate history?). That non-logic would be forgivable if wha"
