Description: Roger Corman produced and directed A Bucket of Blood, and Dick Miller is excellent, in the starring role of Walter Paisley. Like everyone, Walter has his dreams and is an aspiring sculptor who wants nothing more than to be accepted by his peers. Unfortunately Walter's talents don't quite come up to his expectations. Walter's luck changes when his landlady's cat, Frankie, gets caught in the hollow wall cavity of his home. In an attempt to free the unfortunate feline Walter stabs a knife into the wall, but kills the poor cat in the process. Walter can think of only one way to hide Frankie's body and covers it in clay, leavi ... (more)

Horror Films Of The 1950's (28 movies items)

"This was really Roger Corman's breakthrough success, paired with Little Shop Of Horrors which was shot directly after this one, using the same sets. Both of them share similar themes, but for my money, Shop Of Horrors is slightly better. This one is still a cult classic in it's own right, however. It holds up surprisingly well, considering it's beatnik themes and usage of fifties era social comedy, and serves as somewhat of a satirical look back at hippie culture. The comedy is charming, though "

" Date: 5/27/2019 Viewed: Tubi TV Re-Watch Note: This movie is still awesome even after 60 years later. Walter is a very good character and is rather terrifying at times too. The movie has a very good social commentary on the art world and teen films of the 1950s. I also like the atmosphere and the music score that this film has as well. The movie got away with some disturbing scenes for its time and did a great job on making things explicit without going overboard with it. I would give this m"

Movies the giraffe watched in 2019: January (25 movies items)

"Re-watch - Jan. 30th Watched in honor of the passing of the legendary actor Dick Miller. It wasn't often he got the chance to be the lead actor in a picture, which is one of the reasons I love this film so much. Plus it's just such an oddball horror movie and a classic B picture to boot. It may not feature the more gruff version of Miller most of us know (thanks largely to supporting roles in films like Gremlins which is where I first encountered him), but he still slays. He could always be cou"
