Note: I didn't know much about this movie to be honest and I end up really liking it a lot. I thought the acting was great and the story was very good. I really like all of the characters and I care about them a lot more than I thought I would. I can see why this movie is a major classic in British cinema. I highly recommend this movie.

Rewatch

Note: It's been a while since I saw this movie and decided to rewatch it after hearing John Singleton passed away. Nearly 30 years later, this movie is still great. I love all of the character and the overall story of this film. I think the message and the themes of this movie are still relevant in today's world. The acting in this movie is also great as well. I highly recommend this movie if you haven't seen it yet.

Note: I did enjoy it a lot more than I thought. Some of the stuff that happens in the movie was pretty predictable. I still think this movie was still a lot of fun nevertheless. I feel like this movie would have been a good way to end the MCU, but that is not going to happen. I'm not sure if my opinion will change or not during multiple viewings. That's all I can say without spoling the movie.

Re-Watch

Note: What can say about what this movie that has not been said before? This is a great classic movie that will never get old for me. The action, characters, special effects and the suspense is top-notch. It mixes action, sci-fi and horror into one amazing movie. Not to mention, the movie looks amazing in 4K Ultra HD. It took us a decade for us to get a good HD version of Predator for once. I highly recommend this movie if you haven't seen it yet.

Note: I enjoy Terrifier (2018), so I decided to check out the movie where Art the Clown originally came from. It was pretty enjoyable for what it was. The movie does suffer from the typical horror cliches that I'm sick of (Car not starting, lights go out for no reason, etc) and the baby sitter in this movie was annoying. She was so unlikable, I wanted her to be killed off early on in the movie. Everything else about the movie is fine. I only recommend this movie if you are curious.

Re-Watch

Note: I haven't seen this movie in the last 20 years since I was a kid and I think the movie holds up well. The acting could have been better at times and some scenes don't make much sense. I do think the special effects are pretty good and I like the story. The social commentary in this movie is really good with the idea of people believing on whatever they see on TV. Just like how in today's world, people will just believe on whatever they read on the Internet. It shows that people even over 30 years ago can stupid enough to believe on what they see on TV. I recommended it if you like B movies.

Note: First time seeing this movie and I enjoy it. I really like the drama and the humor that the movie had. The acting was also very good and the movie almost had a documentary type of feeling to it. All of the characters feel very believable and I can see why this movie is a popular film classic. The movie is worth checking out.

First Viewing

Note: I decided to watch this movie after hearing good things about it. While it is not perfect or truly original, I still really like it. I love the gritty atmosphere that this movie has and it really had me on the edge of my seat. It made me want to know what will happen to these characters when I was watching. The movie is worth checking out.

Note: It was better than the Michael Bay Transformers movie, but that is not a hard feat to do. I did like the main character for the most part and the movie had the same vibe that 80s movies like Batteries Not Included did.

However, I feel like the story and characters are nothing that special to be honest. Charlie's next-door neighbor is your typical cliche love interest and John Cena's character is the typical generic military bad guy that I've seen so many times. The whole movie very predictable and doesn't bring anything new (Iron Giant, Terminator 2, etc. did a similar plot done better in my opinion). Kids and fans of the series may like this movie, while everyone else should probably skip this one.

Re-Watch

Note: I haven't seen this movie in years and it holds up very well. The movie has great acting from all of the cast members including Chris Tucker and Keith David. I also really like the story and the character development that the main character goes through. The movie does a great job on the life after Vietnam from a black soldier's perspective which I find rare these days. I highly recommend this movie.

Chaplin (1992)

Date: 5/12/2019

Note: Robert Downey Jr. is fantastic as Chaplin and made me think that it was really him as Charlie Chaplin. While the movie is not perfect, it was still a very enjoyable movie with a good cast of characters. I'm glad that the movie didn't cut out the stuff with Chaplin's penchant for young (usually underage) girls and some of the things regarding his mother because those are important to Chaplin's history. The movie is worth checking out if you are a fan of Chaplin's work or if you never seen his movies.

Re-Watch

Note: First time seeing this movie in 10 years (I haven't seen it since 2009 on DVD). I like the first time I saw it, but now I like it less than I did a decade ago. I love the special effects, the gore, the atmosphere and the concept behind the movie. What ruins the movie for me is the characters because I nearly did not like any of them. Dennis is probably the only character in the movie that I felt like that had some type of development. If you like gory horror movies, you may like it. Otherwise, skip it.

Re-Watch

Note: The last time I saw this movie when I was in High School back in 2007 on TV and I decided to rewatch it because it was on Amazon Prime. It holds up well and it is a very underrated movie in my opinion. The acting is great and I love the dark atmosphere that this movie has. The movie has a lot of great subtext in the story that most people seem to over look like "Should be considered government-sanctioned serial killings on a massive scale?" and if a serial killer is just pure evil without any trauma from their past. I highly recommend this movie.

Note: My second favorite Gaspar Noe movie next to Enter the Void (2009). It felt like I was watching a drug trip of Dante's Inferno at a dance club. The visuals and soundtrack are fantastic that really suck you into the movie. While the movie may have a very simple plot, I did like how the movie deals with themes like drug use, unwanted pregnancy and LGBT relationships. This movie shows that style over substance is not necessarily always a bad thing when you know how to do it right.

I really want to watch this movie again and I feel mad that I miss out on this movie on the big screen. I highly recommended this movie!!

Note: The John Wick movies keep on getting bigger and better for me. The action is great as always and I love the world building that this movie has. The mythology that they added in the movie makes things feel nice and fresh. If you love the first two movies, you will love this one.

Frank (2014)

Date: 5/18/2019
Viewed: Hulu
First Viewing

Note: I wanted to check out this movie for a while now and I decided to watch it on Hulu. I end up really liking it for the most part. I really like the characters and the story, but the humor overall is dry and most of them never felt like it was trying to be funny. I do think the acting was solid and Michael Fassbender was great as Frank. Another thing I did like about this movie is that it is trying to be different than be another typical music band movie. I still enjoy the movie and didn't regret watching it. I would rate it higher if the humor was written better in my opinion.

If you haven't seen this movie yet, check it out.

Note: I like movies from Full Moon, but this one was a mixed bag for me. I like the atmosphere, the cool story and some of the gore, but the poor pacing ruined the movie for me. Most of the movie is rather boring, and I was hoping for something more from a typical Full Moon movie. No one is hoping for good acting or great story telling from Full Moon, but that does not mean the movie can't be better. I saw it for free on Amazon Prime (as of May 2019), so I didn't regret watching it. I only recommended it if you are really curious. Otherwise, watch something else instead.

Note: I have seen this movie a couple of times in my life and the movie is still fantastic. I know some people feel like that this movie is overrated because the movie is set during the Holocaust and it feels wrong to use humor during a dark time in history. I do love all the characters and the movie does a great job on mixing comedy and drama. This movie will make you both cry and laugh at the same time. The movie shows that even the cruelty of life can managed to shed some light and hope on no matter how bad things can be. I highly recommend this movie if you haven't seen it yet.

Note: While the movie was not amazing, I still really enjoy it. The acting was great and the cinematography was amazing. I didn't mind the movie being a slow burn because I found myself sucked into the movie's atmosphere (I like movie's with a very summer time feeling to them). I did enjoy the mixed styles that this movie had by mixing in noir, horror, and dark comedy. The movie kinda remind me of a mix between Mulholland Drive, Rear Window, and Brick.

I also enjoy all the cool movie references and nods that this movie has (Sam (Andrew Garfield) has cool taste in movies). People feel like this movie is too confusing, but that's what I enjoy about the movie because it kept me hooked and had me thinking after the movie was over. I'm also into mysteries, urban legends, and conspiracy theories as well. So I did enjoy many of the discussions that the characters had about the theories and mysteries in this movie.

By all means, this is not a perfect movie and I think It Follows (from the same director) is a better movie. I still recommend to check out this movie if you are into Neo Noir or movies about urban legends and conspiracy theories.

Note: I haven't seen this movie in ages and it is still very good. The humor is still funny and the characters are very enjoyable. It's a fun and relaxing movie to watch in my opinion. It's also a nice little time capsule of the mid 90s as well. Check it out if you haven't seen it yet.

Note: I watched the movie in 4K UHD for the 40th anniversary. The movie looks amazing in 4K UHD as if I was watching it for the first time. So many people already talk about this movie to death, so I can't add anything new to say. Just a perfect sci-fi horror movie in my opinion.

Note: This movie is still awesome even after 60 years later. Walter is a very good character and is rather terrifying at times too. The movie has a very good social commentary on the art world and teen films of the 1950s. I also like the atmosphere and the music score that this film has as well. The movie got away with some disturbing scenes for its time and did a great job on making things explicit without going overboard with it. I would give this movie a 4/5 if it was longer. Check out this classic gem if you haven't seen it yet.

Note: I decided to watch this movie for the first time because it was on Amazon Prime and I remember the VHS copies of this movie at Blockbuster as a kid. I really wanted to like this movie, but it was not very good at all. I really struggled to care about the story and characters in this film. The movie is slow and boring to sit through. The only thing that I like about this movie was the special effects and atmosphere. Everything else about this movie sucks. You are better off watching a better zombie movie from the 80s instead like Day of the Dead or Night of the Creeps.

Note: The movie is weak on story and characters, but the action is top-notch. The movie gives you the monster action that people really wanted from the last movie. I still think they could have done a better job on the characters because you do have Godzilla movies with good characters in them like the original 1954 movie, Mothra vs. Godzilla, Terror of MechaGodzilla, etc. I also have to admit that the CG in this movie is great and I did like the music score as well. I still had a lot of fun watching and I would love to see it again.

I give it a 3.5/5 at the moment. That could change after seeing the movie on multiple viewings.
