Kingsman: The Secret Service (2015)
It was a lot of fun to watch. Pretty slick presentation! I also liked the cast. Colin Firth was just brilliant, and what a badass gentleman. There's one scene where he truly shines. Everything about that scene was perfect in setting, editing, music and energy. That's why I got really upset when he died. Taron Egerton was also great, and I loved his transformation as a Kingsman. My problem was Samuel L. Jackson. His lisping was on and off, which was kinda annoying, and he was an unlikeable character.

Commando (1985)
Damn! What a hell of a ride. It's incredibly stupid and cheesy, but its self-aware, and such a blast. Arnold Schwarzenegger is awesome in this movie. There can never be a remake of this movie. No one can play the part of John Matrix better than Schwarzenegger. This movie is absolutely hilarious, and it has so many great one-liners. I loved it!

Point Break (1991)
"Point Break" is a kickass movie. I love surfing and sky-diving, and it's so cool to watch it on screen. Keanu Reeves' line delivery is awful, but it turned out to be hilarious. Patrick Swayze is great too. And watching Keanu jumping off an airplane with no parachute is badass as hell!

Fifty Shades of Grey (2015)
There has been a lot of talking about this movie, and most of it has been negative. I don't think "Fifty Shades of Grey" is good, but I've seen worse movies. I shall give credit for making a movie out of an awful source material. However, the script is terrible. Sometimes, the script is so bad that it actually gets funny, but there were moments where I quietly cursed. I do think the movie looks rather stylish, and I adore the soundtrack.
When it comes to the two leads, I think they did decent performances, and the chemistry between them mostly works. Dakota Johnson has the innocence and awkwardness. Her character often says that Christian Grey is intimidating, but I don't think Jamie Dornan manages to pull it off. He's rather appealing though, I'll give him that. Christian Grey is a flawed character, and I don't like him either. The character is poorly handled in this movie too.
Then there's the sex. Most of the sex scenes are a bit tame, and weird to watch. The movie is steamy at some occasions, but most of those occasions are when they actually don't have sex. My problem is that I think Grey has a abusive power over Anastasia (not only when it comes to the sex), and that's very unsettling.

Shaun the Sheep Movie (2015)
I thought this was a quite simple, yet charming movie. The animation is good, the sheep are likeable, and there were several laughable moments.

Blue Jasmine (2013)
This Woody Allen movie was less pleasing to me. Cate Blanchett elevates it with her tremendous performance. Unfortunately, the plot and the characters didn't attach to me.

Magic in the Moonlight (2014)
I had a really good time watching this movie. It's a pure delight! Colin Firth is an amazing actor, and I've missed watching movies with him. Emma Stone is also terrific, and a true eye candy. I've always loved her. She brings so much life on the screen. The two leads have a great chemistry. The movie is whimsical and joyful. The music, the visuals and the costumes are gorgeous too.
SML96's rating:

Richard Linklater absolutely deserves credit for doing this 12 year experiment. The concept is actually quite amazing, although it has become a gimmick. Here's the thing: the final product doesn't amaze me. Some scenes were fine, but nothing is really memorable. The movie just goes on. And how the movie ended made me think that the movie could've ended almost anywhere through its screen-time. It didn't feel like a conclusion. This movie had much potential, but the story skips many of its parts so fast, and everything kinda fades away. I didn't get emotionally connected to Mason, or any of the other characters either. Ethan Hawke was great, though.
SML96's rating:

The plot is rather thin, but the premise is amusing. This is a movie I don't need to take seriously. It was entertaining, and several things were kinda badass too.

Inside Llewyn Davis (2013)
Oscar Isaac is superb in this movie, and he sings like a true folk singer. The movie moves pretty slow, but it works great. Oscar Isaac plays an anti-hero who you get sympathy for, even though he's occasionally rude. The cinematography is gorgeous, and I love the score.

Friday the 13th (2009)
This is actually the first "Friday the 13th" movie I've ever watched. I had to put on a smile when I realised Jared Padalecki played in this movie. This remake has pretty much everything a teen slasher needs: blood, gore, breasts, human stupidity and many deaths. Lots of it was predictable and dumb, but I actually enjoyed watching the movie.

Wayne's World (1992)
It's really goofy, but what makes it brilliant are its loveable characters, and its many hilarious jokes.
SML96's rating:

Filth (2013)
The title of the movie fits the content well. The movie is sick, but it's often fun. It's solid black comedey. James McAvoy is brilliant. However, the twist didn't really come to me as a surprise.
SML96's rating:

Frank (2014)
Michael Fassbender brings a peculiar, yet a great performance in this quite unusual movie. I think it's well-made and thought-provoking, but I guess it wasn't my cup of tea.
SML96's rating:

Horns (2013)
This was fucked-up movie in my opinion, and that's what I kind of expected. I was engaged during the beginning of the movie. The best parts were the ones were Ig and the people who succumbed to the power(?) of his horns. Then things started to get a bit predictable. However, the ending was the worst. The cast was okay. Daniel Radcliffe was good. Juno Temple was decent, but I've only seen her as a troubled person who gets naked at some point.
SML96's rating:

Taken 3 (2014)
I love Liam Neeson, but this movie was a travesty. I was never engaged to the plot. I missed a real threat. I missed some badass villains. One reason that's redeeming for continuing this franchise should be solid action. But thanks to awful editing, the action sequences get terrible to watch. This movie also had a very weird soundtrack.
SML96's rating:

Whiplash (2014)
I loved "Whiplash"! J.K. Simmons elevates this movie to high standards. His character was electrifying and so intimidating. Miles Teller gave a wonderful performance too, and I'm excited to see his future work. "Whiplash" is a thrilling movie. It's also very intense and emotional. The ending left me speechless. I had a lot of fun watching this movie, and I can't wait to rewatch it.
SML96's rating:

I had a lot of expectations because of all its praise, but I was left rather disappointed. What makes "Birdman" a good movie is first of all its cinematography. The visuals and the editing is impressive. I love the performances, especially the ones by Keaton and Norton. The thing that left me confused are the tone of this movie. The mix of realism and surrealism felt occasionally weird. Many describes this as a dramedy. I can agree on that, but I actually thought this movie was going to be more entertaining, and there were times I didn't feel emotionally connected to the characters at all. Also, I don't remember how many times I thought the movie had reached its final moment. Another thing that eventually started to annoy me was the drums, which felt quite distracting at some points.
