"I don't understand... Colonel Jessup said he ordered the Code Red."
"I know but..."
"Colonel Jessup said he ordered the Code Red! What did we do wrong?"
"It's not that simple..."
"What did we do wrong? We did nothing wrong!"
"Yeah we did. We were supposed to fight for people who couldn't fight for themselves. We were supposed to fight for Willy."
This is my first time seeing this movie and it was pretty good. While there are better courtroom movies than this one, it is well-acted and it did have something interesting to say. The story and everything else was well executed, but it never crossed the line of greatness for me and the ending is kind of predictable. Still, I really liked this movie for what it had to say and how it presented it's message.

"I have a gambling addiction."
"That just means you lost more than you won."
This was quite an unusual movie and it was different from what I thought it was going to be. It had it's funny moments, it had some nice surprise actors and I thought it had an interesting premise. It's not a great movie by any means, but it's a decent movie and it's worth watching at least once.

"I was not a lovable child, and I'd grown into a deeply unlovable adult. Draw a picture of my soul, and it'd be a scribble with fangs."
So I finished reading the book for this around the time this movie was in theatres, but this movie got no wide release. I then waited for it to come out on DVD and supposedly it was going to come out in October, but I couldn't find it on iTunes or at stores and at that point I had a feeling that something was trying to tell me that this movie sucks and that I shouldn't waste my time with it. Then it was announced that it wouldn't be released in Canada until November, but at that point I stopped caring and lost all hope in this movie. So, is this movie really that bad? Well it's not bad at all, it just isn't good. The problem is that this movie doesn't work as an adaptation nor does it work in it's own right. It tries to hard to cash in on the success of Gone Girl and because of that this movie lacks it's own identity. This movie has some good things about it like the acting and some of the dialogue is good, but this movie refuses to tackle the dark content that the book and just made this into a typical Hollywood thriller. This could've been a good adapatation, but it just doesn't do the book justice at all and if you've already read the book then there's no point in seeing this movie.

"I never saw this."
"Machete happens."
I actually enjoyed this one more than the first one. The first one was decent, but I felt like it was a bit too serious and I thought the overall movie could've been better. The sequel however was everything I was expecting from the first movie. It's gory, it's funny and it's a fun movie from start to finish. It delivers everything it promises and it's worth giving a chance if you liked the first one.

"Why'd you donate sperm?"
"It just seemed like a lot more fun than, uh, donating blood."
This was a very well-made movie. It had a great story, very believable characters, it had some funny lines and I really liked what this film had to say. I also thought it was well-acted and I liked how the characters aren't completely likeable, but I still cared about what was happening to them. It's not a great movie, but it comes close to being one and it's definitely one I would watch again.

"Listen, Snake, here's the situation: I have this gun here. Now I am going to take the gun out and I am going to shoot a lot of holes in the door. If you are standing if front of the door, what can I tell ya? Some of the holes are gonna be in you. Ya catching my drift, Snake?"
This is a run-of-the-mill buddy cop movie, but it's still fun. It has it's funny moments and it really isn't trying to be a great movie. It's one of those movies that you know what to expect from and even though there are better buddy cop movies, this one is worth watching if you enjoy these kind of movies.

"You gonna order something, kid?"
"Ah, yeah. Give me- Give me a Tab."
"Tab? I can't give you a tab unless you order something."
"Right. Give me a Pepsi Free."
"You want a Pepsi, pal you're gonna pay for it."
I first saw this on TV when I was 11 and I loved it back then and I'm glad to say that I still love this movie. This is one of those childhood films that's just as good as you remember. I can't say what already hasn't been said so I'll keep it short. I loved the characters, the humor and just the overall story. This is a fantastic movie and it's the best one in the series.

"The time-traveling is just too dangerous. Better that I devote myself to study the other great mystery of the universe: women!"
I remember that after watching the first one that the sequels were playing on TV right after and I had no urge to watch them at the time because I feared that they would be nowhere near as good as the original and I don't think it was until a couple years later until I found out that they had a pretty good reputation among fans of the first one. I am glad to say that this sequel is just as great as the first one. Now the main reason I wanted to marathon these movies this month is because part of this one takes place in 2015 and I wanted to get through them before the year ended and I thought it would especially be fun to watch this one in 2015 because of that. This movie was just as hilarious as the original and I love how they went all out with the plot in this one. It's a great sequel to a great movie.

"What's your name, dude?"
"Uh, Mar- Eastwood. Clint Eastwood."
"What kind of stupid name is that?"
Some people consider this one to be the weakest one in the series and while that is true to a certain extent, that doesn't mean it isn't a great movie. I thought the western theme was a nice change of pace for the series as it keeps this movie from feeling like a re-hash of the other two and it really adds to the jokes they're able to tell. Unlike the other two movies, this one does have a couple noticeable flaws like the fact that it can be predictable at times and it does drag on a little, but other than that it's a great final instalment to the trilogy and the ending for this movie was perfect.

"The defendant did commit an adulterous act with a sheep - most distasteful in view of the fact that the sheep was under 18 years old."
I've been meaning to see this movie for a while and now I wish I saw it earlier as it is a hilarious movie. Not all of the sketches are great and I could've done without the Italian one, but most of them were very funny especially the last one which is the best one. The idea of Woody Allen playing a neurotic sperm on it's own is hilarious and the way that sketch was executed creatively. It's a very funny movie and it's definitely a hidden gem from Woody Allen's filmography.

This movie does have some funny moments every now and then, but for the most part it's a forgettable Vince Vaughn movie with a dull plot and lazy writing.

"Somebody's mad right now."
"Nobody fucks with my car."
This was a decent remake. It has a darker tone than the original which I liked, the action scenes were good and Jason Statham pulls off the leading role well enough. It had the potential to be better than the original, but for the most part this movie isn't that much different from your standard Jason Statham fare. Still it's a fun movie and it's at least on the same level when compared to the original.

"Whoever wrote this episode should DIE!"
I don't get it. I honest to god don't get this movie. I mean it's a pretty well-known fact that humor is subjective, but I don't get how it is considered funny. I guess most of the praise comes from how well this movie parodies shows like Star Trek, but I'm not familiar with the show and I've only seen the more recent movies of the franchise. If it's the case where I have to be familiar with the show to get it then I'm sorry, but it's not good parody. This movie is really no better than some of the other crap that Tim Allen has starred in and it's definitely not one of the best movies he's even been in. Now to be fair the acting in this movie is alright and Alan Rickman completely nails the role he's been given and this movie does have it's funny moments every now and then. It even had a decent premise, but unfortunately most of the jokes in this movie revolves around the plot and how the actors of the show have no idea how to deal with a situation like this in real life. While I have seen much worse comedies that try way to hard to be funny and just fail miserably, this is still a highly overrated movie and most of the time I was just waiting for something funny to happen.

"I am telling you, everything means something."
"No everything does not mean something. Okay, sometimes a movie is just a movie. Sometimes a song is just a song. Sometimes a joke is just a joke. Remember those, jokes?"
This is one of the better movies I've seen where Chris Rock has a leading role. Like I said before I mostly prefer him in supporting roles and stand-up comedy, but in leading roles he really isn't that funny. This movie however is an exception. It had a ton of funny jokes, but it also told a very good story and well-written characters. It does lose a bit of steam near the end, but for the most part it's a really well-done movie and it's the best movie I've seen with Chris Rock in a leading role.

"Don't be so gloomy. After all it's not that awful. Like the fella says, in Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock. So long Holly."
This was a pretty good movie. The acting was good, the story was good for it's time and the cinematography was excellent. I really enjoyed this movie, BUT I don't understand why this movie is considered to be a masterpiece. I thought everything in this movie was solid, but I think there are tons of film-noirs and even classic movies in general that are better than this one.

This was a decent action movie. Gene Hackman was pretty good as the leading role and the other actors do a good job too and this was an entertaining movie overall. It's nothing too special, but I enjoyed watching it and it's worth watching just for Gene Hackman alone.

"At first I found it hard to believe that my father was Japanese, and that I was part-Japanese. But that would explain why I've always had these strange, non-American urges to work very hard, save money, and live without credit cards."
I actually thought this sequel was just as good as the original. It has all the trashy fun that made the first one entertaining and it also is in a way funnier than the original. It's an underrated sequel and I just had a lot of fun with this movie.

"I am the Fuhrer of the beach!"
This movie has an awesome title... too bad the same can't be said for this movie. One thing this movie really lacks is that Troma style that makes the other movies I've seen from them entertaining. It doesn't have any of that over the top gore or cheesy humor that makes them fun. Besides that it's just so boring and there's barely anything interesting or exciting going on until near the end of the movie. It's the worst Troma film I've seen so far and it's not as fun as it should've been.

"You are a kite dancing in a hurricane, Mr Bond."
This is the first James Bond movie I've seen in theatres and I think seeing it this way really added to the experience, but either way I thought it was a great Bond movie and it's the only one so far that comes even close to matching the level of greatness that Casino Royale had. Daniel Craig is just as good as ever as James Bond, the action scenes are great, Christoph Waltz played a really good villain and it doesn't take itself too seriously as it does have some funny moments every now and then. It's a great Bond movie and really the only thing I didn't care for in this movie was the ending. This ending will probably be very polarizing as so far I've seen mixed opinions about it, but I thought it felt rushed and it just was an unsatisfying conclusion to this movie. Despite that I still really enjoyed this film and I'm glad I saw this one in theatres.

Now that I've seen this movie I can say that it is the best film Peter Jackson directed that isn't Lord of the Rings related. "Always fast food. Fast food. Things that people would rather throw out than finish. It's easy, it tastes all right, but it doesn't really provide you any nourishment. I'm fast food."
This is among one of the best films Nicolas Cage has been in and I really liked his character in this movie. The rest of the cast does a really good job too and I thought this movie was sad, but at the same time manages to have some comic relief to lighten the mood at times. This movie doesn't cross the line of greatness for me, but it came close at times and it's definitely one of the more underrated movies that Cage has been in.

"What's "God"?"
"Well, you know, when you want something really bad and you close your eyes and you wish for it? God's the guy that ignores you."
This is just an average movie with a decent albeit not very original premise, but it wasn't executed that well. The cast does a decent job with the material they were given, but for the most part this feels like a mixture of other sci-fi thrillers without having it's own unique spin. It is an entertaining movie for what it is, but in the end it's just a typical Michael Bay movie and I think this story needed a lot more depth for it to be a good movie.

"All right now, I don't like violence, Mr. Wonderful whatever your name is. You better drop that blade, or you won't believe what happens next, even while it's happening."
This was an interesting Clint Eastwood film and it's a pretty good start to his post-western career. While it is a bit slow-paced by today's standards, it's still an interesting story about how this whole movie is centered around Clint Eastwood stopping this one guy and this movie does have some funny lines. It's not even close to being one of his best movies, but it's still entertaining and it's a good pre-Dirty Harry cop film.

"Look at the size of that footprint! I've never seen anything like it before!"
"I have. Once... in a museum."
While this isn't my favorite MST3K episode, they still made this movie watchable as it would've been very boring without it. The problem with this movie is that like Joel and the robots said it focuses more on rock climbing than it actually focuses on the lost continent or the dinosaurs. It's not engaging in the slightest and I just would've been really bored if I watched this movie without their commentary. The acting is OK for this kind of the movie and the dinosaur effects are kind of charming in a cheesy way, but the movie just takes too long to actually get to it. It's a terrible movie that even fails on a B-movie level.

"I don't get vests. What, is it winter in your torso but summer in your arms?"
This was not as good as the original, but I wasn't expecting much from this one so I wasn't disappointed at all. I like the whole concept of this sequel and it does have it's funny jokes, but not all of them hit and this movie really starts to get cliche near the end. I also thought it lacked what made the original good as the first one had heart while this one is more of a silly comedy that focuses on the food island more than anything. It's an OK sequel and it's worth watching once if you liked the original, but it could've been better.

"I've been with a lot of guys."
"I don't care!... How many?"
"I don't know. How many girls have you slept with?"
"I've slept with three women."
"Me too. I have slept with three women too."
"How many guys?"
"What, like this year?"
When I saw a trailer for this movie I thought it looked terrible and I wasn't anticipating it at all, but then when this movie got decent reviews I checked another trailer to see if I felt any different and then I realized that the reason the trailer sucked was because it was a green band trailer and because of that they butchered some of the jokes to make them cleaner. While this movie is hilarious and is one of the funniest movies of the year, it also was surprisingly heartfelt which is something I wasn't expecting from this movie. The story for this movie is actually more believable than the standard romantic comedy formula and the acting is pretty exceptional for this kind of movie especially Amy Schumer who delivers a great performance. I loved this movie so much and it's Judd Apatow's best movie since The 40-Year-Old Virgin.

"The city's a disaster, Luke. Its not like it used to be. It's plastic. One big fucking happy meal."
"Some people like happy meals."
"Some people like the Yankees too, Luke. It doesn't mean they're right."
I decided to watch the one Jonathan Levine movie that I haven't seen yet before I see his newest film, The Night Before. This movie exceeded my expectations as I had no idea it would be this great. The acting is amazing with an amazing performance from Ben Kingsley and even Josh Peck the guy I mostly know from Drake and Josh turned in an equally great performance. The character development was really well-done and I could relate to these characters in a way. I also loved the dialogue as it was very well-thought out, I could relate to most of it and it was really funny at times. Another thing I just absolutely loved about this movie is the attention to detail of the 90's and it's culture. They really went all out to make it feel authentic and the soundtrack for this movie is awesome. This is Jonathan Levine's best movie so far and it's one of the reasons that he's one of the most promising new directors working today.

"I've never even heard of the original vacation."
"Doesn't matter. The new vacation will stand on its own."
The picture above sums up this movie perfectly. I really wanted to like this movie, I really did. The trailers made it look funny and it looked like that the Vacation series was getting back to it's roots after the pretty safe and mostly forgettable Vegas Vacation, but unfortunately this movie completely misses the point with what made the other movies funny. While only the first movie was rated R, every movie in the series besides Vegas Vacation didn't care about who they offended and there was build up to these offensive jokes and they didn't just rely on shock humor. This movie however is pretty much almost all the fucking jokes this movie tells and it's the kind of juvenile shock humor that a 12 year old could come up with and some of them were just too predictable to be funny. I also thought that the family members were poorly casted as while Ed Helms can be funny, he just cannot pull off the leading role, Christina Applegate isn't very believable as his wife and the older brother is a loser while the younger brother is a fucking monster. While the older brother wasn't very likeable, I still think that he didn't deserve the abuse his younger brother put through him and all of his lines where he hates his brother and wants to kill him aren't funny. It's also very formulaic and predictable which wouldn't be a problem if the movie was funny. Now to give this movie credit, there are a few funny jokes that made me laugh, but those are few and very far between. If you haven't seen this movie yet then don't bother. Just watch the original movie instead and avoid it even if you're a fan of the series. It's a terrible movie and it surprisingly beats Unfriended as the worst movie of 2015.

Since I had an urge to re-watch this movie while watching the new one, I decided to do that just to get the bad taste out of my mouth that the other one left me with. This movie is even better than I remembered as I forgot some of the stuff that happened in the movie and the jokes were a lot funnier the second time around. I also loved the overall realism of this movie with how the characters are portrayed like a real family instead of cartoonish characters like in the newer one and how much of a pain in the ass family vacations are in general. This is a hilarious movie and it's the best one in the series.

This was a decent movie. The acting was good, it had some decent dialogue and it did have an alright story, but it is underdeveloped and I think there should've been more character development to this movie. So while I liked this movie, it's not something I would watch again and I have no idea why I marked it on my want to watch list.

"Children are not machines, Peabody. I tried to build one, it was creepy..."
When I saw a trailer for this movie I wasn't really sold by it as it looked like a typical kids movie that's adapted by classic source material, but since it was on Netflix and that it got good reviews I decided to watch it. This was a very fun movie with lots of funny jokes and it actually pays respect to the source material very well. This movie definitely wasn't the kids movie that the trailers made it out to be as it had some adult appeal with a few jokes that kids won't get and I could also imagine history buffs enjoying it as well. This was a very entertaining movie and I'm glad I watched it.

"No, not toxic shock just your imagination set free! Look at it, a perfect world with a Porsche in every drive way, Chicken McNuggets in every pot, and you, you Melvin, smack dab in the middle of it. Loved by millions the world over, you'll be more popular than The Beatles and Elvis combined!"
"Gee, that's a lot for minimum wage!"
While I did enjoy this movie to an extent, I was also disappointed by it. Besides the video store scene at the beginning, this movie is incredibly toned down and it feels a lot more family friendly with a couple minor exceptions. I did enjoy the more cartoonish feel and the fight with Toxie and the devil was entertaining, but I think this movie shouldn't have been toned down. My rating may seem generous, but I enjoyed this movie and it was consistently funny, so if it wasn't for the comedy then my rating would be lower.

This was a very interesting documentary of the whole evolution of the rap genre and how much it has changed over the years. I really liked the interviews and the some of the freestyles these rappers did were really good. Eminem's was my favorite as his rhymes were great while Kanye West's was my least favorite which was OK, but it went on for too long. While it's not a perfect documentary, I still thought it was an interesting one that any fan of rap should see.

"One of them coyotes, he made love to my skull. You know what that practice is commonly called?"
"I do... and I certainly hope he got both eyes, Roy."
I remember when I was actually looking forward to this movie, but that was before there was a trailer for it and the premise made it sound like it was going to be a gritty movie when it reality it's just a silly movie that doesn't take itself seriously at all. This was a stupid movie with stupid humor, lame action sequences and phoned in performances. Even Jeff Bridges seemed like he didn't want to be here and it's definitely his worst performance and the chemistry between him and Ryan Reynolds is just weak. While this movie did make me chuckle every now and then and I will admit that the first action scene in this movie was good, but other than that it's a terrible movie that was destined to flop with it's $100 dollar budget. The only thing I can defend about this movie is that it's not the Men in Black rip-off that people make it out to be. It may have been inspired and it has some elements of that movie, but it's not a rip-off of that franchise. However it did make me want to watch Men In Black again, but that's a different story.

Now that I've seen this one, I really don't get why people don't like it. It's not as good as the first one, but it's still good in it's own right and it doesn't really deserve the hate it gets.

"WE DID NOT KILL JESUS! WE DID NOT KILL JESUS!"
This is one of if not the funniest movie of the decade. There were so many hilarious moments in this movie and it's one of the best Christmas movies in recent years. Besides this movie being a laugh riot, it is also very heartwarming at times and none of the emotional moments come off as forced. Really the only thing that was kind of annoying was Miley Cyrus' cameo which started off poorly especially with her singing Wrecking Ball, but it got better when Joseph Gordon Levitt took the stage. This is a hilarious movie that is an instant Christmas classic and hopefully it will be released on DVD much earlier than most Christmas movies do.

This was a pretty good sequel that's almost on-par with the first one. This one takes the series in a different direction instead of re-hashing the same material and it has an interesting storyline. This is a really fun addition to the series and it's also a bit more dark than the other movies which in this case isn't a bad thing. The only thing that's missing is Frank the Pug who was one of the best things about the first two movies. Now since it had been ten years since Men in Black II came out, it's pretty obvious that the dog who played him died, but I don't see why they couldn't just get another pug and keep the same voice actor as the movie does feel different without him. Other than that it's a sequel that's even better than the last one.

This was a movie I was originally going to give an 8/10, but the longer it went on was when I realized this movie managed to accomplish what it wanted to with this premise and because this movie did something pretty unique for me. It managed to disturb me on a level that not many movies are able to do. The child actors do a really excellent job with the type of roles they are given and I really connected with the childhood innocence theme of this movie. Kevin Bacon is also exceptional as the creepy cop in this movie and pretty much every actor in this movie was great which is saying something for a movie with a small cast. This movie is a gem and I hope it manages to find an audience.

"Everybody blames the Jews for killing Christ, and the Jews try to pass it off on the Romans. I'm one of the few people who believes it was the blacks."
I don't really add stand-up comedy specials to the list anymore as I find that there really isn't much to say besides if they're funny or not, but I decided to add this one because I have a bit more to say about it. Now I have seen a good number of her show The Sarah Silverman Program which is hilarious and while this movie isn't as funny as the show, I still laughed quite a bit at it. While there are maybe a couple moments that are more awkward than they are funny, I did enjoy most of it and the sketches while they were filler, they still got some laughs out of me. Overall this was a very funny stand up comedy movie and I pretty much got what I expected from it.

"It's like TNT on PMS."
This movie was pure cheesy fun. It had a interesting premise and the movie executes it well enough. The movie was very entertaining and it doesn't take itself too seriously.

"I'll pick you up at seven. Where do you live?"
"Here."
"With the stiffs?"
"Um, my father and I have an apartment upstairs."
"Oh! Yeah, sure! That's uh... convenient!"
This was a decent little film. While it is a standard romantic comedy and it's not the best movie that John Candy has been in, it's still funny and the romance in this movie was done well. I even got some John Hughes vibes from this movie and I actually thought he wrote the script for this movie, but it turns out that he only produced it. While this movie is nothing special, it's still decent and I'm glad I watched it.

"Don't tell anybody I killed a Smurf."
I was actually looking forward to this movie when I saw the trailer and I was surprised to see the negative reviews for it with some saying it's one of Adam Sandler's worst movies. Now that I've seen it all I can say is that it was OK. It was mildly entertaining and it does have it's funny moments, but the problem with this movie is that it takes about an hour for the plot to actually kick in and about the last 20 minutes for it to get really interesting and the trailer pretty much spoiled the best parts. The acting is alright as Peter Dinklage is the best actor in the movie even though his character wasn't that interesting and Josh Gad was just really annoying while all the other actors are just passable. It's an OK movie that has it's moments, but in the end it's very forgettable and this premise just worked better as a Futurama episode.

"I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted. I won't be laid a-hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them."
I decided to watch this because I wasn't thrilled with my first impression with John Wayne which was The Searchers, so I decided to watch this one as I figured it would be up my alley and it turns out that it was. I was really impressed with John Wayne's performance in this movie and it was a perfect role for his final movie and I thought this was a very good character study. I didn't completely fall in love with this movie as the rest of the characters didn't have much depth especially Ron Howard who delivered an alright performance, but seeing him in this kind of movie felt weird and out of place and I felt like this movie was too short and that the story could've been developed more. Still this was a solid movie and a good one to end the month on.
