I don't know why I haven't seen this yet as I enjoy Miles Teller quite a bit. I've been hearing nothing but good things about it. Damien Chazelle is definitely an example of making hit or misses. Seeing as he directed this, but wrote the horrible sequel to The Last Exorcism. The acting here is pretty amazing. J.K. Simmons is one of the most intense instructors I have ever seen portrayed on screen.... read more

Poor Miles Teller, he’s so damn good in Whiplash that it almost feels cruel how completely stolen the movie is from him. Telling the story of a quiet student who dreams of becoming one of the world’s premiere drummers, Whiplash offers up a juicy supporting role to a great character actor. And you can figure out why I say that the movie is completely stolen out from underneath him.

Since I kept hearing some really good things about this flick, I was really eager to check it out. Well, I wasn't disappointed, that's for sure. In my opinion, it is basically some kind of dark version of 'Fame' mixed with a nail-biting thriller. Still, even though J.K.
