'Why can't I have a normal boyfriend? Just a regular boyfriend, one that doesn't go nuts on me!"
"Everybody wants that, dear. It doesn't exist."
What an overrated, disappointing movie. Jack Nicholson's performance was great and he deserved the Oscar for this movie. I did not like the dialogue for this movie, the other actors weren't that impressive and the subject it tackles has been done in better movies than this one. It did have a few laughs every now and then, but besides that and Jack Nicholson's performance this movie was clearly not for me.

Four Rooms (1995)

"Like my old grand daddy used to say, "The less a man makes declarative statements, the less apt he is to look foolish in retrospect."
The Missing Ingredient: It sucked! It was weird in a terrible way and the effects are just as bad as the effects from Sabrina the Teenage Witch. 1/10
The Wrong Man: While it is slightly better than The Missing Ingredient, it tried way too hard to be disturbing and funny. 3/10
The Misbehaviours: Finally a segment that doesn't suck. This one was hilariously messed up and it doesn't even care about who it offends. This is also the segment where Tim Roth's character start to improve. 10/10
The Man From Hollywood: It's no surprise that Quentin Tarantino's segment is the best one. It has his style of dialogue that I love and it's really the only perfect segment. (The Misbehaviours had a minor flaw, but the segment was too hilarious for me too care.) 10/10
As a whole Four Rooms is a mixed bag. The worst segments were made by directors that no one, I repeat NO ONE cares about. The plot did have potential, but if it wasn't for the first two segments then the execution could've been perfect. The second half is when the movie starts to get great, but because The Missing Ingredient and The Wrong Man exist 7/10 is as high as I can rate it.
I will never watch this movie as a whole again, but I will watch The Misbehaviours and The Man From Hollywood again. I might also watch the scenes before the segments again especially the one with Marisa Tomei since that one was great.

"Y'know what I think? Don't really matter what I think. Once that first bullet goes past your head, politics and all that shit just goes right out the window."
I was expecting this movie to be good, but I really wasn't expecting it to be as good as some of the great war movies like Apocalypse Now and Saving Private Ryan. After watching this I can say that it's definitely one of the great war movies. It has some great acting and the realism of this movie is amazing. Some may complain that the war scenes go on for too long, but that's exactly what happens in a real war. There was nothing I didn't like about this movie and it's the best movie from Ridley Scott I've seen so far.

"After my mom died, this is just the world I got thrown in."
This was an interesting movie. It did start off a little slow, but I really liked the storytelling, the character development was good and the ending is great because it just comes out of nowhere. It's a pretty good movie and it is the kind of movie I would want to revisit.

"A study at Harvard determined a person's longevity by the first thing they read in the paper."
"I'm an obituary man."
"Start with the comics, you'll live longer."
This movie isn't anything special. All it wants to be is a political action-thriller and it works, but the dialogue was pretty weak at times and it's no surprise that no one mentions or even remembers this movie because it's just another forgettable Wesley Snipes movie.

"I'm the good guy, I'm the head of security."
"In my position what would you do? If you were me what would you do?"
"Kill myself."
I had this movie on a 4 Film Favorites DVD for a while which also included Eraser, Point of No Return and The Last Boy Scout which is the reason I got that DVD. When I was disappointed by that movie I felt like that DVD was a waste of money, but I felt like watching this movie in hopes that it was better than Murder at 1600.
Turns out it wasn't a waste of money after all. This was a very fun movie with some very good action scenes and enjoyably cheesy one-liners. It's a really underrated movie and it's pretty much the best movie that has Wesley Snipes as the leading role.

"You don't wanna shoot me, Vi. Do ya. Do ya? I know you don't."
"Caesar, you don't know shit."
For one of The Wachowski's earlier movies this was a very solid movie. Not just because of lesbian scenes, but because of the great writing and because for once Jennifer Tilly's voice didn't give me a migrane. While the plot may not be original, it still has some great writing and some very good performances and it's a movie that should not be overlooked.

"Sir, I signed up to be a fighter pilot. I didn't want to be a cop. And I certainly didn't want to go walking a beat on a neighborhood nobody cares about."
Hey I'm Owen Wilson starring in a war movie! Please take me seriously! I don't want to spend the rest of my life starring in the shit that passes for comedy these days. Fuck this movie! Owen Wilson was very annoying and he was not believable as an army lieutenant. The dialogue was beyond terrible and the action scenes were not fun to watch. The worst thing this movie did was make Gene Hackman boring. While he is far from being one of my favorite actors he still manages to deliver some great performances in most of the movies I've seen from him even in stuff like Crimson Tide and Enemy of the State. Superman IV was the only exception until I saw this shitty movie. I can't say I was expecting this movie to be good, but I was at least expecting it to be entertaining. I guess it's too much to ask for an entertaining movie from the director that killed Die Hard.

For some weird reason I couldn't find any quotes for this movie that were worth putting on here. That doesn't mean it's a bad movie because it's a really good thriller. It was well-acted and it was very creepy at times. It's far from being a masterpiece of the genre, but it's still solid entertainment and it's one I wouldn't mind watching again.

"What does "the hungry rabbit jumps" mean?"
"It's not what a lawyer tells me I must do, but it's what humanity, reason, and justice tell me I ought to do. Edmund Burke said it. Hungry: humanity, rabbit: reason, jumps: justice."
The only movie that is leaving my Netflix queue on June 15 is this one and I wasn't sure what to expect from this one. I actually really enjoyed this movie. It was surprisingly well-written, it had some decent acting and Nicolas Cage barely overacts. The movie does feel longer than it actually is at times and it's not something I would watch again, but I'm glad I watched it this one time and there are worse Nicolas Cage movies than this one.

"The Koreans bought the church back, so we had to move across the street... to 22 Jump Street."
This is one of those rare times where a sequel to a comedy is even funnier than the original. It has more jokes and it is just as self-aware as the first one. Not only that, but there is never a dull moment with this movie and it also has a few twists which was cool to see in this kind of movie. Overall this was a great sequel and it is the funniest movie of the year.

"I was thinking about going home and putting a Spielberg movie in - 'Always' or '1941,' something really great like that."
Out of all the movies about filmmaking, this one is the craziest one. What makes this one different is that it takes place on a Troma set, so lots of crazy stuff happens. While there are a few jokes that fall flat, it does have a lot of jokes that are so stupid that they are funny and it's just a highly entertaining movie.

"Will one of you get me some more bullets for this gun?"
I've been putting off watching this for a while because I haven't seen one good review for it and because it looked like George Romero was running out of ideas. That's exactly the case with this terrible sequel. Even with very low expectations I was disappointed. It had terrible dialogue and no characters to care for which is not good because without likeable characters it's just a movie about killing zombies. Speaking of killing zombies, even the zombie kills weren't that good. They were pretty weak especially compared to the previous films in the series. This was just an awful zombie movie with nothing good about it and it's the worst movie in the franchise.

Before this turned into an over the top action franchise, the original was a very serious movie. It had great character development and a very good story. It does have some action, but I wouldn't really call it an action movie. The ending had a huge impact on me since I first watched this movie. It was not the kind of ending I was expecting and I really felt sorry for Rambo. Overall, it's one of the best Stallone movies of all time.

"Why, you wouldn't even look at a clock unless hours were lines of coke, dials looked like the signs of gay bars, or time itself was a fair hustler in black leather."
It may not be the best movie from Gus Van Sant, but it still has some very good storytelling and some good performances from River Phoenix and Keanu Reeves. It's a very interesting movie and the way they ended this movie was beyond perfect.

"I'm declaring war on anyone who sells drugs to the community."
"But Black Dynamite! *I* sell drugs to the community!"
This is the best spoof movie to come out in recent years. It spoofs the blaxploitation genre very well and it's very funny. It's just too bad that it's overlooked because it's better than the Scary Movie franchise and those Seltzerberg spoof movies that I refuse to watch.

I really enjoyed the movie Rubber, so I was really interested in seeing Quentin Dupieux's next movie. Just like the latter movie, this is one of those movies that you will either like or hate. While the plot is simple, the way it was executed was really good. The character development and dialogue was good and it's just an unusual movie overall. Even though Rubber is the better film, this is still a very good movie and it's worth watching if you're looking for something different.

"Exposure. That's the only thing that works. Everything else is just talk. You have to have to courage to stay in the situation that frightens. And then you'll learn that fear isn't dangerous."
Calling this movie disturbing is an understatement. It actually disgusted me at times and I love this movie for doing so. It also had some really great performances from Williem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg and some amazing cinematography. Even though this film is hard to watch, I honestly wouldn't mind sitting through it again. It's just one of those movies that are really unsettling, but not enough for me to never want to watch again.

"I never noticed before, but you really got nice eyes."
"Shut up!"
"But you do."
"Let's get this over with, I can't believe I'm committing an armed robbery for two flashlights."
This is one of those movies that has a weird combination of actors. I mean really? Tim Robbins and Martin Lawrence? That's like having a movie with Daniel-Day Lewis and Ashton Kutcher. It's just something that doesn't mix. This is just one of those comedies that has some funny parts, but it's really forgettable and it's just your average buddy comedy.

This is one of Woody Allen's more forgotten movies which is too bad because it's one of his funniest movies. In 2014 this movie is just as funny as it was back then and this film has that 70's feel to it. If you like Woody Allen's movies then this is really worth watching.

"They strike, wrap around you. Hold you tighter than your true love. And you get the privilege, of hearing your bones break before the power of embrace causes your veins to explode."
This was really stupid. Even for B-movie standards this was terrible. The dialogue sucked, the characters weren't likeable and the acting was sub-par. It can be entertaining at times, but only for the wrong reasons and it just doesn't go all the way with its corny premise. Even if you love B-movies you're better off skipping it.

Not only does this film have great storytelling and acting, this is also just as relevant today as it was back then. What makes it even more effective it that it was based on a true story. Overall it's a very shocking movie and I was thinking about it long after it was over.

"If we allow ourselves to be full of hate, then they've won. We must not let them take our hearts."
Out of all the movies in my Netflix queue, this is the only one that was leaving Netflix. Judging from the title and the cover, I thought it was just going to be another action movie with Gerard Butler, but it's really a serious drama. The dialogue is good and the story isn't bad, but it just feels like a weaker version of Hotel Rwanda. It's not as effective as the latter movie and Gerard Butler's acting was unconvincing at times. It's still a decent movie, but it's no Hotel Rwanda and Butler was miscast.

"It's crazy how you can get yourself in a mess sometimes and not even be able to think about it with any sense-and yet not be able to think about anything else. You get so you're no good for anything or anybody. Maybe it begins by taking life too serious. Anyway, I think that's the way it began for me. Just before my fight with Rodriguez three days ago..."
For one of Stanley Kubrick's early movies it's far from his best work, but it is still interesting to watch. It's not deep like his other movies, but it is an entertaining film-noir that is worth watching if you're a fan of Stanley Kubrick and you're interested in seeing how he started off.

"You'd be killing a horse - that's not first degree murder, in fact it's not murder at all, in fact I don't know what it is."
While Killer's Kiss was pretty good for one of Kubrick's earlier films, this one is his first masterpiece. It had some great dialogue and characters, and I really enjoyed every minute of it. It's a classic film noir and it's a shame that it doesn't get mentioned as much as Kubrick's later films.

"I apologize... for not being entirely honest with you. I apologize for not revealing my true feelings. I apologize, sir, for not telling you sooner that you're a degenerate, sadistic old man. And you can go to hell before I apologize to you now or ever again!"
I hate to say this, but I didn't care for this movie. The acting was pretty good and the dialogue wasn't bad either, but it just felt too dated for me to enjoy it and I just couldn't feel for any of the characters. Since this movie came out, better movies of this genre came out and it just hasn't aged well like Kubrick's later films. I personally think that Full Metal Jacket is Stanley Kubrick's better war movie.

"Are you sure of that?"
"Am I sure? Only as sure as I am that the reality of one night, let alone that of a whole lifetime, can ever be the whole truth."
"And no dream is ever just a dream."
This really isn't Stanley Kubrick's best movie, but it is still a great movie. It had some great dialogue and had some great performances from Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. I do not think they were miscast like most people do. While I do think this is a great movie, I really didn't see this as a Kubrick movie until an hour into the movie when there was someone chanting in reverse. Again it's not Stanley Kubrick's best film, but it is still a fantastic movie and it proves that he could make quality movies after 44 years.
P.S: I'll probably finish catching up on Stanley Kubrick's movies next month.
