2013 Movie Diary: March & April

Boring as hell.

Wow, I really seem to spend my time with some quality flicks... For those of you that have no idea what this film is, it's a Finnish "horror" movie based on a popular Finnish soap opera. Reasons for watching this: ...amusement I guess. And actually the only bright spot of the whole film was a character called Joonatan. I don't know but that shit was hilarious. Otherwise there's really no reason to watch this ever again, and I can't really recommend it to anybody.

First of all, I KNOW this is called "Movie Diary" but since I suck at watching movies lately, I decided to include this tv show here. I also found this show to be so interesting I just have to mention it. This show just started airing in Finland but as I am such a dumb ass who always forgets things, I forgot to watch the first episode. So the logical thing was to start watching the show online. And after every episode I fell in love with this sick and twisted drama more and more. You can't trust anybody in this show. It's pretty cool. I think The Following is one of the best new shows I've seen. It has been a long time since I found something new on television so The Following easily takes the best new show title. There's Bates Motel though... But anyway. I encourage everyone to see this show, the first season hasn't yet ended (and I am over the top with excitement) but it has already proven to be a freaking great show. AND there's going to be a second season! YAY! If I have to say something bad, I'd say that Ryan Hardy is a bit of a cliche. But in the end Kevin Bacon is awesome and the Ryan Hardy character has some interesting sides to him.

The road trip with Neil Patrick Harris was the best part of the movie.

I think I kind of had high hopes for this movie. I had heard so many good things about it so when I finally saw it, it wasn't as mind blowing as I would've liked or expected it to be. But in the end it was still very entertaining and fun to watch. Wait... I wonder if it's appropriate to say it was "fun" to watch... but anyway. Great entertainment.

Even with a plot like this the film didn't really stick to my mind that well. The biggest thing I remember is all those actors and how I was constantly like "HEY, I know that actor!".

Re-watch. From 6 stars to 8. Btw, this movie has some epic and hilarious lines like "I'm gonna punch you in the ovary, that's what I'm gonna do. A straight shot. Right to the babymaker." and "Why don't you go back to your home on Whore Island?".

It was kind of surprising that this film focused mainly on Alma and Hitch's relationship. But even with that as the main point, it introduced some interesting views on things and I quite liked the actor choices for the roles. Not sure about Scarlett Johansson being Janet Leigh though, but that's just a minor doubt. I think she pulled it off in the end quite well.
