"I ain't in no mood to die tonight."

1985 was a banner year for zombie films, as two "Dead" flicks hit cinemas within the span of two weeks. George A. Romero's third zombie effort, Day of the Dead, came first, closely followed by The Return of the Living Dead, which was written and directed by Alien scribe Dan O'Bannon. Return is based on the novel of the same name by John Russo, wh... read more

1985, a bumper year for the horror genre nonetheless, heralded the release of three disparate zombie films: "Day of the Dead", the bleak conclusion to Romero's seminal trilogy, Stuart Gordon's gore-laden "Re-Animator", and "Alien" scribe Dan O'Bannon's directorial debut, "The Return of the Living Dead". In terms of ranking the individualistic merits and themes of each film, "The Return of the Livi... read more

"4.10. Blu-ray Uusintakatselu.

"Re-watch - Oct. 24th This film tied in nicely with the one above thanks to both films featuring not just a cemetery but one that has resurrection in its name. I still love that this film is born from the idea that Night of the Living Dead was a fictional account of true events, allowing it to put its own spin on the genre. Plus it's fun from start to finish. I still wouldn't go so far as to call it great, but I'll gladly revisit it a few more times in the years ahead."

In terms of ranking the individualistic merits and themes of each film, "The Return of the Living Dead" is the least clinical, unconcerned with the human condition or science, herein the cause of the zombie plague is bureaucratic error. However, similarly to Romero's trilogy, the bulk of the story centres on a vicinity: a medical supplies warehouse, the cemetery and its adjacent mortuary. A warehouse foreman shows around a new hire, and in doing so, shares with him that the film "Night of t” read more

" Date: 7/3/2019 Viewed: Blu-ray Re-watch Note: I decided to rewatch this movie on July 3rd at 5:30 PM like any other horror movie fan would do. This movie is still awesome to watch after nearly 35 years later. The characters are awesome and the humor is still funny. I also love the special effects and the atmosphere that this movie has. There is one small plot hole in this movie that bugs me a bit, but I can't think anything else that is wrong with the movie. If you haven't seen this movie, do"
