Pretty bad, ngl. I was hoping for a creature-feature sort of film where I got to see a scary-looking, demonic-esque Gargoyle monster, especially with how the movie dragged.. I thought maybe it would show something crazy at climax of the film, but... nope, why would they? Movie was just a waste of time, don't watch it, unless you like to feel confused and want to doze off.

Wish Upon (2017)
Watched on: December 10th, 2024.
Wow, not bad, I enjoyed this one. Gotta say tho... the main actress looks a lot like a younger A.J. Cook imo, but maybe that's just me... uhh, so the premise was pretty good. The overall acting, characters, death scenes and even the conclusion was all pretty tight and nicely done. Is it the best horror / thriller film I've seen in the 2010's? Probably not. But is it the worst? Far from it.

Not bad. Only issue I really had was that the Headless Horseman was not the main attraction of this version of the story, but instead appears briefly at the climax of the film... oh, and there's no chopping heads off or anything like that. I know it's a movie-made-for-TV type of film, but I would've liked to have seen some more "horror" aspect within the story. Overall, not terrible, not great... just average.

Wow, that was really good... didn't expect it to be what it was. Going after a topic like "snuff" is pretty deep, as it's probably up there with some of the harshest realities of our world that we live in. Nicholas Cage did a brilliant job in this, it may actually be one of my favorite roles he's done.

Invincible (2006)
Watched on: November 10th, 2024.
Ehh.. kinda had the same stylized tone to The Rookie with Dennis Quaid, both being Disney films, so they're very toned down for the kids. Was it a bad movie? No. Was it a great movie? No. So, I say this sorta falls in the middle for me in terms of quality, but also as a sports movie.. it's weak imo.

Sawney: Flesh of Man (2012)
Watched on: November 8th, 2024.
Very gory, very bloody.. very practical. Story-wise? It was pretty decent, very to the point and not much else. There was an attempt of love-interest / drama but that fell short.. but for a reason I suppose, obviously you have to watch the movie itself to get what I mean. I think I'd rather have had this film actually be about Sawney Bean from the time period it was supposed to be, but instead we got this modern sorta "take" on it.. almost like a romanticized sequel to the original alleged happenings.
Anyways, it's not the greatest cannibal horror film I've ever seen, but it definitely is not the worst either. I say, give it a try.

Shadows of Bigfoot (2024)
Watched on: November 4th, 2024.
As far as a found footage film goes... this one was right in the middle in terms of quality. The gore effects were top-notch, so I'll give 'em credit for that. The acting was subpar, tho some of the actors were better than others. But, you know what the major issue was that I found with this movie? The Sasquatch in question. The suit was clearly a gorilla suit you can get at a Party City or some sort of Spirit Halloween store. It was a very typical costume... but the mask was different - that was what actually look'd decent, especially close up shot of it.
If the costume overall could've been better, it would've made the film better ihmo.

Low budget, bad audio, you never get to see the "big guy" nor his allies. Yah... definitely one of the least memorable, let alone favorable, Bigfoot flicks out there, that's for sure.

In a Violent Nature (2024)
Watched on: October 26th, 2024.
So, the best part of this film is simply the practical effects / kills, etc. Everything else.. I can do without. Not a bad film by any means, but not anything that special either. That fact that it was from the perspective of the silent killer, was a pretty good call, I thought that direction was great. The victims (if you want to call them that) were annoying / not anything worth a shit, so I could not have given two inches of a crap for these people, but I guess.. maybe that's the point? The ending was real weird and overstated its welcome.. there's no real hard-punching moment or real resolution, it's more so left as ambiguous I guess?
Overall, not bad, not great, will never watch again, but.. it was what I sorta expected. Also, the cinematography was absolute amateur dogshit, but I also assume that was the point? Anyways..

A Bronx Tale (1993)
Watched on: October 23rd, 2024.
I can see why people liked this film, but I guess for me, it wasn't the greatest thing I've ever seen nor would I put it even in the top "mafia" sort of category of the best of the best, but in terms of a "stand alone" type of film.. it was fine. Not terrible, not bad, but not the greatest either. I think believe the problem for me was.. the fact that the time-skip into the main character's adulthood.. there wasn't really any indication of "loyalty" among the gangsters and the kid (main character).. idk, the direction of the film was sorta all over the place.
At the end of the day, it's a good first-watch, but I can't ever see myself trying to watch this again. It was okay.

Off the Black (2006)
Watched on: October 12th, 2024.
Not bad, I enjoyed it, even if some parts felt a bit out of place or sorta a waste of time.. just to make the movie seem longer than it actually was. Acting was top-notch, tho.. despite the good cast, the story was a little all over the place and .. for something that sort of sold itself as a semi-baseball film, it only made references to it, while the actual storyline was completely different, but then even with the said storyline.. it was very quick in its impact.
Ending was a bit odd and I'm not sure if they just didn't know how to wrap it up or if it was supposed to be ambiguous? I wasn't sure. It's not that the film failed in doing what it had to do, but it also wasn't exactly the greatest concept nor of how it was delivered to the audience.
But, with that said.. it was pretty good.

Deadpool & Wolverine (2024)
Watched on: October 9th, 2024.
Pretty damn enjoyable, ngl. I thought I'd not like it since I'm not as huge of a fan of the MCU nor really any newer films in general, but I was genuinely surprised by how, not only funny, but how well-done the character interactions were and even more-so how precise / authentic it seemed based on the varying personalities. Obviously, if you're like me and you grew up with older superhero films, it was a damn treat to get to see Elektra and Blade again, and that the filmmakers didn't make a mockery of them at all, but just kept them the way they were supposed to be all those years ago.
Anyways, not to make this review any longer than it needs to be, I definitely recommend this film and I thought it was pretty damn good concept. And who knows, maybe we'll see Eric Bana's Hulk, Nicholas Cage's Ghost Rider, or hell.. even the return of Tobey's Spider-Man one day in a similar film concept as this one.

The Tank (2023) (2023)
Watched on: October 2nd, 2024.
Idk.. it was kinda weak. The characters were fine, if not a bit bland? The creature(s) were sorta a rip-off of other well-known creatures that everyone's seen at this point or another in many other classic horror films from the past... very Alien-esque. The score was fine, if not really noticeable at most times except for the end. Cinematography was on point, I'll give the movie that much, it was a decent looking film. But the execution and the overall picture itself? Very meh.

Feet of Death (2024)
Watched on: October 2nd, 2024.
Not bad, I thoroughly enjoyed this Bigfoot film. Altho.. the costume in question was sorta bad, kinda looked like something you could pick up at a Party City or Spirit Halloween store tbh. The characters were decent enough, alongside the acting itself. Storyline was simple, but I will give it credit where credit is due as the third act becomes something completely different and goes for a switcharoo quite quickly, revealing some loose ties and "connecting the dots" as they say.
Anyways, to wrap up this small review, it wasn't bad, it wasn't great, but it was something in the middle for sure.

A Bucket of Blood (1959)

I quite enjoyed this film, definitely an earlier inspiration (I'm sure) of the slasher genre, but carried out in the same fashion as the original House of Wax (with Vincent Price) as well. Obviously, there were some flaws and parts of the film that were put into question, some of the acting and maybe the pacing, but overall.. it wasn't bad, I enjoyed it!

Eh.. it was okay. The first 20-30 minutes was fine, but as soon as they got to the actual Loch Ness lake, it sorta fell apart from there. Honestly, they could've had more interviews with the locals, especially when they were at the pub at one point, but they didn't. The acting was... okay to mediocre. The cast themselves, didn't really care for. I consider this a found footage / mockumentary sorta put together? Overall.. it was meh.

Project: Metalbeast (1995)
Watched on: September 23rd, 2024.
Not bad, I enjoyed it a lot! Seeing as Kane Hodder played the beast / werewolf himself, he did a great job.. and there was even a nod to the Friday the 13th films, and maybe even a later (call it coincidence?) scene where the werewolf (Kane) is on a medical bed and slowly lifts his upper body up 90-degrees and then shifts his head / body toward the person he's about to kill off (while the person is unaware of course) and by the time the guy turns around, Kane's gone, but then shows back up, does his thing, etc.; that in itself.. wonder if it inspired the scene from Jason-X which had a similar premise in which it's a chick that's working Jason Voorhees and while her back is turned, Jason gets up and does the same type of movement / action.
Anyways.. decent film, I enjoyed it, definitely up there with my favorite werewolf or dogman-inspired flicks!

It was alright. Overall tone was kinda weird... the low-budget probably didn't help. Syfy original is what it felt like, honestly. The effects of the "monster", by the time you see it as clear as... day(?) (it's bright, but supposed to be at night - bad lighting), it looked pretty bad.. which is probably why they hid it the whole time until the end. Not scary at all, the monster looked like a CGI-mess, acting was subpar / okay (at best).
Not the greatest thing ever... nor the worst, just very underwhelmingly average.

The Flash (2023)
Watched on: June 30th, 2024.
Not a great film, but damn.. does it do pretty well at hitting all those nostalgia-marks. Michael Keaton as Batman is legit the best part of the whole film. He's in it so much, in fact, that I'm more surprised they didn't just scrap this film and make another Batman film, just for the old school Keaton fans. Besides that, I don't have anything really nice to say about The Flash. The budget for the effects were definitely underfunded and at times.. looked like a PS2 cutscene. If it weren't for Keaton's Batman showing up, this film would've been even worse than it already was.

It's the movie: "Alien", but under the sea... and it's pretty bad. First 10-20 minutes is fine, I guess, but quickly becomes a jumbled up mess. I can't remember or recall the name of the characters and I literally just got done watching it, probably because they were all so basic and trash. The ending, holy crap.. the ending was so bad and cliche.. and dare I say.. off-putting? One of the main characters dies and nobody cares? The acting was god-awful, especially in how the characters don't give a damn about each other, even at moment's notice of someone's death.
Just a terrible movie...
