A good movie

10 years, 12 months ago at Oct 10 12:59
Since I kept hearing good things about this flick and since I´m a big fan of Robert Altman, I really wanted to watch this movie. Unfortunately, I thought it was a little bit disappointing though. Basically, it is one of those hyperlink features which means there are multiple & parallel story lines interacting with each others. Altman was an expert at this genre and this movie is considered as one... read more

This movie tells the intersecting stories of various people connected to the music business in Nashville. Barbara Jean is the reigning queen of Nashville but is near collapse. Linnea and Delbert Reese have a shaky marriage and a handicapped child. Opal is a British journalist touring the area. These and other stories come together in a dramatic climax.

Best Picture Nominees (in Ten Sentences) (478 movies items)

"Robert Altman strikes again with his magnum opus "Nashville," a film that glorifies and parodies Tennessee culture, music industry, and human behavior. During the presidential election of Hal Philips Walker and the celebration of the United States bicentennial, several stories fly around and land on one character and another. The capital of Tennessee is the home of country music legends like Barbara Jean (Ronee Blakely), Connie White (Karen Black), Haven Hamilton (Henry Gibson), and the trio Tom"

Suuren t"

" Notes: Basically, it was one of those hyperlink features with multiple & parallel story lines interacting with each others. Altman was basically an expert at this genre and this movie is considered as one of his many masterpieces. Well, to be honest, I thought it was a little bit disappointing though. Sur all the actors involved were pretty good and the music was alright but there was no plot whatsoever (which is something that never really bothers me and it didn’t bother here either). The m"
